I’ve been here for a good 20min or so and it’s nothing special. I tried to sit at the bar when I walked in but all the seats were taken, one guy had his legs across three chairs… It’s not bad here, but I wasn’t greeted when I came in, the bartender didn’t talk to me until I spoke first. People seem to enjoy it here, this is my first time here and I came to socialize, this probably isn’t the best place to visit without friends. Only 3 beers on draft and so just a typical bar. :\

Take a step back in time to circa 1970’s and 80’s. The long bar beckons one to saddle up and order something from draft beer to the many Pinnacle Vodka flavors. They even had DIET7UP! This was the first time I had ever been to a bar that had diet 7UP or Sprite. Crazy isn’t it? Anyways, the clientele is typical westside Cheviot down-to-earth blue collar kinda people. I love it. Perhaps one of the negatives I witnessed was the mass gauntlet of smokers that we had to walk through to get in/out of Gary’s. Too bad they don’t have a patio for them. If you life darts, there are 3 dartboards and I assume a dart league. There was also a cool putt putt video game where I witnessed a large group of middle aged men playing each other. I kinda wanted to play the game(closet putt putt lover). Maybe next time. Until then, low priced drinks and casual atmosphere make Gary’s a nice little bar that you might want to check out if you’re in the mood. Parking is on any of the side streets, and free.

Gary’s was a favorite hang out for an ex-boyfriend of mine so I ended up there quite a bit for a period of time. The crowd is a mix of 30 somethings and while I never felt like I fit the dynamic, it’s a cool neighborhood spot with a decent juke box, darts, an attentive bar staff and a slew of regulars.
