Having a lot of friends who played lacrosse in high school, I was very familiar with the game and was well aware of Laxland Sporting Goods out in the Oakley/Columbia Township area. Although many of those friends may have been aware of Celtic Lacrosse in Colerain Township, I just found it the other day and came away much more impressed than I was at the bland Laxland store. Celtic Lacrosse has been in business since 2004 and it has a Springboro location as well. It specializes in «alternative team sports,» with a lacrosse emphasis, although I’m not quite sure what those alternative sports are. Either way, I think they do a much better job serving lacrosse players, and even coaches and officials as well. They sell heads, shafts, gloves, arm and shoulder pads, helmets, shoes, apparel, and bags, and they even have this one machine/device that can help you choose the right head for your lacrosse stick. Another cool thing they had was a lacrosse shooting target(you throw the ball and it bounces back). I liked the appearance of the store, unlike at Laxland which had essentially blank white walls. Celtic Lacrosse has a lot of color and had all kinds of different lacrosse t-shirts adorning the walls. I was a bit surprised to find out that Celtic Lacrosse is in just its fourth or fifth year of business because they seemed to run their store like longtime experts. Some of the new 2008 equipment is in, including Warrior, Brine, STX, and Gait brand equipment, but not only do they provide«quality sporting goods,» but Celtic Lacrosse also recruits and trains players, coaches, and officials.
