Wow — after years of avoiding because of a gluten allergy I saw the ad for gluten free cookies. They taste exactly as I remember! While I don’t really recommend gluten free food to anyone that doesn’t have a real gluten allergy(you’re better off with the originals) these are delicious for the gluten challenged. I can’t wait to try the other gluten free baked goods I saw in there too.

If you enjoy getting long hair from strangers caught in your throat, this is the place for you! After 3 months of strict dieting I decided to «treat«myself to 2 Busken doughnuts. The 1st, a chocolate covered custard filled went down excellent. The 2nd, a chocolate covered cream filled didn’t quite make it to my belly. As I began to swallow I realized a long hair was in my mouth & beginning to go down my throat as I swallowed. I was able to put my fingers in my mouth & pull up the hair along with the bite I had begun to swallow. If there is a silver lining, the custard doughnut quickly followed along with the majority of the grilled chicken salad I had for dinner. So rather than had cheated on my diet, I actually had a negative calorie breakfast!

My buddy swears by this place and says it a local tradition. My Danish was fresh and the lady who served us was friendly. Not much to comment on otherwise. I’m certain I could, if I was in Cinci again, return and indulge in other donut pleasures.

Here’s how I alienate an entire city: Busken’s cookies? The ones they put on billboards all over town with plays on the seasonal holiday? They’re really not that good. I don’t like them. They’re dry. Usually they are over frosted with a sickly sweet concoction. I’m not really sure why people rave over them. I do understand that if I’m killed under suspicious circumstance tonight, it will be because of this review.
