Maybe it’s because I came at 8:45am but there was no line, and everyone was so nice & friendly. Heather was the woman that helped me and got me in and out with renewed tags & a brand new license in about 20 minutes. By far the best experience I’ve ever had at the DMV!

I’m in complete and utter shock. I came here to get my passport at 3:30pm and its 3:45pm and I am done. In and out in 15 minutes — NO LINE!
The woman taking care of us was extremely pleasant and helpful. I got my picture taken there too. They printed it, cut it and packaged everything for me and I was good to go!

Had a very easy time getting a vehicle inspection, transferring my title from another state and ordering new (Miami University!) license plates. Went in at 8 a.m. right when the offices opened (titling and license/​plates are in two different offices in the same building) and was finished with everything by 8:20 a.m. – no waits at all! Everyone was very friendly and made my trip easy. I would definitely go back to this location next time I needed to visit the BMV.

WOW, i was able to register my car in 5 minutes? I only waited in line for less than a minute, and everything went so smoothly. This place is very efficient. One thing to remember is that it is cash or check only, so I was glad I brought my check book. I came on a weekday, and people always seem to be coming and going in terms of street parking around the court house, so it’s not a big deal. I way overpaid for the meter because everything got done so quickly– but I’d rather do that than spend hours at the BMV. (or DMV as the rest of the world calls it.)

So the BMV is one of those places where you’re not usually in the best mood when you’re walking through their door. Even if you’re getting a title to a sweet new ride, you’re begrudging how much you’re going to have to shell out for it. At the end of the day, the best a BMV can do is 3 stars unless they are giving things away for free.
So, what do I expect from a BMV? Timely, friendly service with clear instructions if I need to do something (ie fill out paperwork). I’ve been to the downtown BMV twice now, and I have experienced just that.
The inside is set up so that you walk in and are automatically in the winding line and the only way out is after you’ve gone to the window. Efficient? Yes. Warm & Welcoming? Notsomuch, but that’s ok. I just want to be able to get in and out.
Both times I have been, I didn’t outstay the free 10 minutes I had on the meter out front, so I would say that’s a win. But I do think both times were in the middle of a business day.
I’ve experienced friendly, but down-​to-​business clerks who share my want to get through the process quickly. No problems there.
Finally bring your checkbook. Cash or check only-​I think that’s a state-​wide policy. There might be an ATM in the building lobby, but I can’t guarantee it.
