We «inherited» American Heating from our home’s previous owner a few years ago when we purchased the house in 2008. According to the last guy, he contracted American to install the HVAC system from scratch. This house was built in 1926, obviously without central H/A. We’ve always been pleased with the way the system has worked and we’ve also been happy with their service. Though to be honest we really haven’t had any problems so we only see the guys once a year(or so). Our very first HVAC emergency occurred this past Christmas Eve at approximately 9:30 pm. Oh, the fun. The thrill, the excitement. We had 3 out of town guests staying with us, two of whom had traveled great distances to visit us during the holidays. One was my elderly mother-in-law who has lived in the deep South her entire life and was none too thrilled about our heatless home on a 20 degree night. We also were expecting more family and friends over for dinner the next day. I thought our goose was cooked. I called the emergency number listed for American on the handy label they attached to our furnace and Keith(bless his heart) called me first thing Christmas AM and said he’d be over within the hour.(BTW, their policy as he explained to me later is that after 9pm, emergency calls get answered the following AM unless it is below 0 degrees or above 100 degrees.) Forty-five minutes after his call, Keith had come and gone, problem solved(bad igniter), and the house was warming up nicely. The best part about the whole thing was that Keith never once acted as though being out at our house, working on Christmas morning was anything unusual. He was a total professional and I cannot thank him and American enough for saving our holiday.
