Solid gyro joint in the food court of the Robinson Renaissance building. There were a couple of people waiting for food, so I walked right up to counter. I went with the combo #2, which is a gyro with your choice of side and a drink. I think it’s $ 7.25, but I got my gyro«supreme,» which means they add feta cheese, black olives, and tomatoes in addition to the usual lettuce, white onion, and tzatziki sauce. So, that raised the price a bit, but I can’t recall exactly how much. The gyro is a good size, but the distribution of the sauce wasn’t the best. I know most places just put it on top, but this had the worst distribution I think I’ve ever seen. So, I basically mixed it up and ate it with a fork, rather than as a sandwich. The meat is good, typical gyro meat made of a lamb/beef mixture with spices. Very juicy, I’ll give them that. The pita was fantastic, they must steam them or something, because it was very soft but also very hot. I usually like them crisped on the flat top, but this one had no crispiness and I still loved it. Excellent gyro. I went with a side salad, which was romaine lettuce and cucumbers, topped with a typical vinaigrette. It was good, but not great. Just a regular salad. It takes a couple of minutes to get your order ready, but that means they have to make it fresh, which is always a plus. I wasn’t waiting more than 5 minutes, I know that. This place is simple, but it’s good. I’ll absolutely return.

This is one of two Greek places within walking distance of my office, that I know of, and this one is my favorite. When I get a craving every so often for a Gyro for lunch, I head over to the food court in the Robinson Renaissance building like I did last Friday. I got my normal order, Combo #2, which is a Gyro sandwich with either salad or fries and a drink for $ 7.25. Being able to get salad instead of fries or rice with my sandwich makes me very happy. I learned early to order my salad without olives since I hate them but don’t want them to go to waste when I just throw them away. I do enjoy the flavor of the Gyro sandwich. Considering this is a food court operation, the service is prompt and the food is tasty. My only complaint is the food court closes at 1:30pm and I tend to take late lunches. To satisfy my Gyro craving, I have to make sure to head out to lunch early.

You know, its not that pricey, the gyros and falafel are pretty tasty, and the wait time isn’t long. So it’s ok! It’s nothing special, its not great, but I do like it, and I do get it for lunch fairly often. It isn’t a sit down place– it’s part of a downtown food court– so you just go up to the window, order, wait, and, if you’re getting it to go, hope that you get everything you ordered(last time I went, I didn’t get my baklava, but didn’t notice until I was back to the office). If you want to eat there, there are plenty of tables in the open area that serves this place and all the other pseudo fast food options, and you’ll get the joy of being surrounded by people who work in the courthouse, since its one of the most popular spots for courthouse lunchers.

This place is located at the RR Building Food Court where The Library Bar sits. I’ve only dined at two greek places in downtown OKC and would highly recommend trying this place at least once. My co-workers raved about the chicken, and now I“m a forever fan. I find it really difficult for someone to mess up a gyro. I have had their Gyro combo, Broiled chicken combo and Gyro salad. All for a little under 7 bucks. The Gyro meat is normally pre-sliced and put into a container ready for re-heating on the grill. If you like steak fries, then you will enjoy their combo because that is what it comes with :) The chicken is to die for! It also takes a little longer to cook. The spices and juices mixed with their yummy rice makes for a winner winner chicken dinner type of combo for me in my belly. Last but not least — -Gyro salad. Lots of fresh romaine lettuce, a couple juicy sweet tomatoes(wish they gave me more!), black olives, a few slices of cucumbers, feta cheese… With a savory sour dressing. They also give you a side of tzatziki(not a fan of it because it tastes more like greek plain sour yogurt) for the gyro meat, but I kind of wish they’d give you some pita pieces. Aw– well, beggars can’t be choosers. All in all– you can’t lose! Try the chicken and see for yourself.
