Decided to try a new food place. Was looking through Unilocal and spotted Shelbys. Went to the place. It was a small shack that you could walk up too or drive to the window.
I ordered a three piece fish and okra. The price wasnt too steep, but the wait was a little long, which is understandable since they cook it fresh. Well, I enjoyed the okra. The fish just wasn’t my cup of tea. It wasn’t seasoned enough. It wasn’t the usual fried fish. Had a weird texture and was a little hard to chew.
The fish also tasted weird. Halfway through my meal, I started not to feel good. I ended up throwing away the rest of my meal and now I’m sick. I’m sorry, but I will not be trying this place again.

The staff was friendly. The food wasn’t «Best in Oklahoma» at all. I got a groupon for the meal so I certainly wouldn’t complain for 5 dollars. It was neat to experience but I probably wouldn’t revisit them at full price.

Fun drive up fish and chicken stand located in a hair salon parking lot.
Not to be stereotypical, but walking up and talking to the guys inside, you know this is going to be good stuff. Located in an area that makes you feel a little adventurous, but remember it’s very safe.
Catfish and sauces were A+. Only complaint was that the fish was not as «crisp» and flaky as I like. I was the last to get my food before they closed so that may be why. Other options were chicken wings, link sandwiches, and fish sandwiches. Standard sides like fried okra, green beans, hush puppies, etc.
Will be back! This time I’ll know how to order correctly and won’t be standing around feeling like an idiot.
