Ruth’s Sweete Justice

Great bakery BUT it closed in late 2011/​early 2012.

I guess the day I went in was the less experienced decorator day. The items in the case looked like a disaster (what is that? is that supposed to be a petit four? it’s only half covered in ugly, drippy icing…), but I supposed the workers were nice. Took a look around, there were some nice dummy cakes, some just ok. Sure you can make things look great if you use a Cricut machine to create your shapes and patterns, hardly any of the dummy cakes looked fully piped. Kerry Vincent would be disappointed! haha.
Picked up a few sugar cookies, they were yummy! However i’ve tried a few flavors of their cupcakes and they were ok. The red velvet cake however was the WORST red velvet i’ve ever tasted in my life. Not even kidding. It was oily yet dry, weird sponge-​y texture… didn’t taste like anything really… maybe shortening? yuck. I won’t be back, not worth the drive into OKC or the prices.

I am on the hunt for a cupcake place that measures up to my beloved Sprinkles.
The layout is nice and the service was great.
Here is what I got:
–1 Red Velvet: There was some whip cream filling inside; and the cupcake was a light shade of red. The cupcake was okay moist in some areas and dry in the others. The cake tasted like yellow cake, not chocolate. — Okay
–1 Toffee Bar: I thought this was overly sweet and I could not taste any toffee.
There was a large selection of goodies such as cupcakes, bars, cookies, and no bake cookies. Although I did not enjoy my sweet picks this time, I will definitely try this place again.

We used Ruth’s for my wedding and used it 8 years later for my little sister’s wedding — and we made the right decision twice. The wedding cake was flavorful, beautiful, delicious — unlike so many wedding cakes I’ve tried before. The fruit fillings they use are awesome!
Ruth’s Sweete Justice has a bakery onsite, so you can go in and try cupcakes, cookies, bon bons, truffles, etc while looking through pages and pages of their wedding creations. the people who work there are nice too!
