Went to this place looking for face paint on short notice, and had a fairly horrible experience. I have been warned not to get the crappy face paint, but figured since it was Halloween they might actually make a meager attempt at getting better products in stock. Was wrong in this assumption. Not a «you get what you pay for» experience… because had I not turned around and said«give me my money back» my bill would have been $ 50…for cheap unsafe makeup with hazardous warnings all over the packaging(and silly me thought this was the only option in OKC when there is a local costume shop just down the road on Classen that sold me much higher quality stuff) There were multiple music feeds(ambience? or confuse someone into buying something because they cannot think straight? who really knows!), one being a mega-loud advertisement announcement-intercom-type thing that one cannot escape while they are in the store… and multiple television sets with maxxed out volumes showing costume and makeup stuff… with all this sound chaos I do not get how people are able to work there for an entire shift. The guy who checked me out barely spoke to me, and did not tell me my total until I viewed my receipt… I was so frustrated with the entire experience I asked him to just void the transaction and let me leave and he responded«oh no, I can’t do that, you have to go to that guy over there.» and pointed to a kid inflating ballooons. They had me fill out some really old-school paperwork asking for a LOT of personal information, more than any return transaction I have ever experienced in retail… yikes. I won’t visit this place ever again, and I feel really bad for the seasonal employees who have to suffer their time there. All hail the glory of locally-owned shops and online merchants for the rest!

The PG has all the stuff I need to throw dope events in the Oh Kay See. This last week I scored some leis for our Elite event, as well as cups and a cute little lemonade dispenser for future events. I normally like to plan ahead and comparison shop for party decorations and other fixings, but sometimes life just jumps out ahead of you can’t be superwoman. It’s nice to know I can run in and get something that is a close approximation to that perfect thing I just knew I was going to secure in time for the big to-do. Be smart and order ballons in advance for pick up rather than waiting in line. You never know who’s going to be in line in front of you(I’m looking at you, crazy lady throwing a T-Rex party last week. You, my friend, are a handful.) Bonus points for being locally-owned, and for all the work the owners have put in over the years to help grow our local music business as well as and fun events like Ghouls Gone Wild. You can also buy tickets to lots of great local music shows at all PG locations!
