This is my favorite place to get gas. It is big and there are lots of covered gas pumps. I rarely go inside though. Today, however was an exception. It was early in the morning and freezing cold. I had driven by Starbucks and the drive threw line wrapped around the building, so I ran inside On Cue to get some coffee. This place has everything. Huge selection of coffee and other hot drinks. Snacks in all forms including hot foods. Was glad to see they even have a good selection of healthier snacks. I believe I even saw a frozen yogurt or ice cream station but on a cold day like this I was not thinking of ice cream. Everything was well marked. The store was spotless. Didn’t check the restrooms but saw a employee moping one of the restroom floors. Staff was very friendly. While waiting in line there was a older gentleman buying lottery tickets and it was obvious he didn’t have much experience with doing this. The girl waiting on him was very kind and took time to explain things to him. They are building a new On Cue at May and 36th which is nearer my house. Hope that one is as good as this store.

We have visited this on cue time and time again since it has been built. It has always had faste and friendly service. However tonight we went looking for some food. The clerk had just placed the hotdogs and various other sundries on the rotating cookers. We asked how long they will take to cook and he replied rudely ‘well at least an hour I justput them on’. We turned our attention to the nachos. The nachos had no container for cheese beef or the nachos. So I asked the clerk ‘are there containers for cheese? Or am I just not seeing them?’ To which he replied ‘look we’ve been really busy tonight ok?’ OBVIOUSLY agitated, he stormed to the cash register and slung some baskets at me. Get new night people I worked all day on Xmas evens well and I wouldn’t ever treat a genuinely nice person so rudely if they wanted to spend their money at my place of business.

Regret is the word of the day. It’s the word of every day when it comes to this OnCue Express location. Because every day that I fill up, the price drops by something like 5 cents the following day and I feel sad knowing that I didn’t get the best deal. The 63rd&NW Expwy location is consistently the cheapest option for gas in this part of Oklahoma City, at least as far as E10 is concerned. The regular gas prices tend to be a little more unpredictable; more often than not, OnCue isn’t the best deal for 100% fuel. But if you don’t care about putting E10 in your car, then this should be your first and last place to stop for gas. If you can help it, head over here in the afternoon or evening. I’ve been noticing that price drops seem to happen right around(before or after) the after work rush hour.

Northwest OKC has been plagued for years with a dearth of gas and convenience stores along NW Expressway, from Classen to Coucil. I blame the stupid, short-end-of-the stick deal when got in the«gentlemen’s» agreement struck all those years ago by the owners of 7 – 11 and QuikTrip, which forever sealed OKC’s fate as home to gross, out of the way and outdated, 7−11s, while Tulsa got shiny new QTs all over town, on major thoroughfares. If you’ve ever been in a QT, you know what I’m talking about. So here we have a beautiful, brand new convenience Mecca, with super tall awnings, electronic signage, and a state of the art store with all manner of food and drink options. Lots of healthy snacks, which I appreciate as a good selection of healthy options is the only thing that can possibly compete with my almost animalistic need to find the bottom of a bag of Chex Mix. Easy in and out, with a location in the triangle formed by two of the busiest streets in this part of OKC. There’s another one just up the way, a bit further west on Expressway. I would love to know what they paid for this parcel of land, and I hope they make a huge profit off it. A word of caution — be careful in the parking lot, whether you are walking, driving or backing out. At least for now, I think people are so mesmerized, they forget to look.
