We went. once. paid extra money for [mediocre] parking. Worst security hassle compared to any concert/venue we’ve attended. The person who checked me tried to take money out of my wallet. Hopefully things have improved. During the concert we attended, we noticed people walking in off the street through a big hole in the fence. yep. This would have been substantially more annoying if we had paid for our tickets.

Went to the airpark for the first time last night for Stiff Little Fingers, Pennywise, Bad Religion, and Offspring. Other than the music and my friends, it was a horrible experience. 1) We spent the extra money for VIP tickets because the website said that there would be a tent at the side of the VIP section. Nope, no shade anywhere on the hottest day of the year this summer. 2) Now for the worst part of the entire experience. This was a punk rock show. People were being bitchy when we enjoyed ourselves and danced/pogoed/moshed/circled…whatever, it’s a punk show. However, security actually removed my friends from the VIP area for pogoing… they removed him for jumping up and down. Seriously??? 3) Their customer relations needs work. Another friend(one who didn’t get thrown out) posted about his complaints and Downtown Airpark commented on his Facebook status and told him to stay home next time. Way to address issues people. All in all, unless it’s the most amazing show in the entire universe, I’d never go back to this venue again. Even if it was the most amazing show in the universe, I’d probably drive to another state to see it instead of coming to this venue again. If I could give less than one star, I would.

I feel like this could be a really great venue. However, I’m giving it a low rating because the whole place is covered in stickers. I mean the kind of stickers that stab you and get stuck in your skin and your clothing. Obviously it is an outdoor venue, so when I saw a summer concert I wore sandals and shorts, only to be extremely uncomfortable and cut up during the whole show! This wasn’t a cheap concert, so I was severely disappointed that I spent so much of the time pulling stickers out of my feet. I know how hard they can be to get rid of(I lived in a house with stickers in the front yard) but maybe not open a giant venue knowing that this is a problem. The second complaint I have is that the parking is out of control. Although they have people to guide parking into rows, they completely boxed my car in. I don’t know how a parking director(?) could deliberately direct people to park behind another row of cars. So I was stuck for over an hour waiting for those people to come move their cars so I could leave. The stage is nice, and the sound is good. But until I hear someone say, «I didn’t get an stickers at the concert» I’m never going back.
