I have been to many McNeil sales and had very good experiences at all of them. Their merchandise are fairly priced, and staff are helpful and courteous. They also have a lot of preview pics and info about their sales on their site so that you know whether or not what’s there is worth your while. I understand the other reviewer’s frustration regarding the jewelry room, as it can be a pain to wait. However I also know that they do this for a reason: theft of small items is a big problem at any estate sale, and there simply aren’t enough eyes in the main sale to ensure that valuables aren’t shoplifted. There is a signup for the jewelry room wait list available one hour prior to the sale so if you’re eager to get a look, just come early. Personally I like to sign up and then go for McDonald’s breakfast. :) It’s also worthwhile to note that not every sale has a jewelry room — they only do this in sales with a lot of valuable smalls.
