Customer service in the weed eater section was top notch. I left the dept. with knowledge and a new weed eater, feeling pretty good! Here is where the customer service went down hill real quick! I go to the self checkout line, which I have done several times before at other Lowes stores nation wide and this one, with no issues. I show the lady at the register my military ID, because they give military discounts. She tells me, the machines doesn’t recognize military discounts. (I know that, that is why I showed her. They normally ring you up, or do something in there register to show up on your self check out register the discount) I reply, ma’am I know. I was wondering if Its possible for you to ring me up at the register? She says, I am unable to, because I am extremely busy. Remember she isn’t ringing anyone up, she is just there«monitoring» for issues and theft. I kindly reply, ok. Thank you ma’am, and proceeded to a normal cashier… After waiting in line for 5 min, I look up and see the very same lady ringing someone up! If you see a very short stocky lady with dark long hair in that area, expect terrible customer service. This location would have gotten a 1 star, but I received excellent customer service in the weed eater section.

Staff is horrible. Ordered an electric fireplace tv mantel and had it delivered to my home and there was no instructions. Called them and a girl answered and said she’d email us the instructions. An hour went by and no email. Called back and same girl answered and she acted like she’d never heard of us and said she was busy and she’d call us back. Waited 30 minutes and no call. Called back again and she transferred us to another girl but someone else answered and said the girl we got transferred to is outside. I just want instructions on how to put this together. Horrible service. Also when I ordered it they said they’d call me to set up a delivery time. They called at 9:30 am the next day and said they were minutes from my house. They didn’t even check to see if I was home. Thankfully I was. Update: Now they’re making me drive up there to get the instructions. I would’ve done that hours ago if they would’ve just told me that’s what I needed to do instead of making me wait around for them to call me.

My mother has a lot of home improvement projects going on– I mean a lot. This Lowe’s is her destination for all materials and advice– and I can see why. The selection is great and there are several of the sales associates who have gotten to know her and take special care of her.(Delivering a «floor model» John Deere mower so she wouldn’t have to pay for them to put it together is just onoe example.) The lay out of the store is pretty typical and the pricing is right in line with other Lowe’s or Home Depot stores. We do like the convience of the MY Lowes card so she can match paint and get matching trim, etc based on previous purchases. It also means you don’t have to hold on to your receipt for a return! The store is really proabably a 4 star place-but the last star is for the way they have helped my Mom these last few trying months.

As my coworker is fond of saying, «Unsolicited advice is the worst kind … here is some advice.» If you find yourself in the company of a young woman and are considering whether or not she is marriage material, ask her if she’s willing to pop into Lowe’s to pick up some hardware of some kind solely so she can spare you the embarrassment of admitting to a Lowe’s employee that your entire handyman skill set consists of changing light bulbs … and only the ones you can reach without a ladder. If she says yes, a trip to your favorite jeweler may be in order. I’ll leave it to the reader to judge whether or not that’s a personal anecdote. In the meantime, I can report that when I found myself with no choice but to go to Lowe’s to get some true hardware supplies, I was able to find what I needed without too much trouble. Things were reasonably well laid out, and I was able to get help when needed … however, most of the employees there could tell I was trouble and went out of their way to avoid eye contact with me as I stood there pondering how it was possible for mankind to even INVENT that many different types of nail, much less what they could all be used for. So I got help, but I really had to work at it. I was also bemused by my attempt to use self-checkout and avoid the lines. The automated self-checkout system does not allow you to take your bought-and-paid-for merchandise with you without putting it in a bag. I had to receive a waiver for the system to stop shrieking at me about bagging my purchases. I don’t know if this is common for self-checkout systems or not, but we may want to think about system design a little more. [My wife informs me the bags help them weigh the items to keep me from stealing. I am a terrible shoplifter.]

Haven’t had any issues at this location. Staff is friendly, especially the guy that was working the loading area registers on Sunday(kid had a mohawk!).
