I used to eat here all the time and haven’t in a long time. I went back this week and had a chicken chimichanga and an ice old Tecate. yummm! So good and the food was out fast!

Went as a guest in a large party. I won’t knock them on service for this reason. However they have a location in Norman I[’ve tried and I’ve never been impressed. The tortilla soup is never prepared the same way. I ordered it once and it was more of an undercooked-onion soup. Terrible! This visit, however took the cake. Two of us at our table found hair in our food. Totally unacceptable. Not going back.

This is the Best Mexican place ever. When we lived in Oklahoma, we started at the old place that was packed every day. When we moved we still talk about this place. Whenever we are in Oklahoma, this is the first place we go. The food was always good, came fast, lots of free salsa, chips, queso and to end it off a sopapilla(sorry spelling). Sooooo don’t miss out.

***WRONGADDRESS listed on Unilocal.Correct address is 9122 S Western. Great chips and salsa. Asked for a hotter salsa and was given a bright green salsa which they said was 100% ground Jalapeños. Excellent! Taco and enchilada was very good. At the end of the meal we were served delicious Sopapillas at no charge. Very fast and friendly service.

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in OKC. The service is good and I really like the staff. So friendly and always wanting to make sure everything is the way you want it. You get complementary chips, salsa, queso and tortillas. You can also ask for peppers and special salsas. The salsa is pretty spicy but very good. The menu has alot of options to choose from. This time I tried the Guiso Special. Chunks of pork covered in spicy green salsa with rice and beans. The sauce is SOOOOO good. It is spicy and I had to drink alot of water to cool down my mouth but it was so good I couldn’t stop eating it. The rice and bean are always good. My boyfriend had the Camarones a la Diabla. Cooked shrimp covered in a SPICY red sauce. I thought mine was spicy but this one took the prize(hints Diablo = devil). This also came with rice and beans. The sauce was very good as well which made it impossible for your mouth not to be on FIRE by the time you were finished. We will be coming back to this restaurant again.

This place is great. A small building that can get loud but the good and staff are good and the price is low. A great place to eat. I’m becoming a regular.

Los Vaqueros has been a place me and my family go to all the time, and have been for around 12 years. Their food is some of the best Mexican food there is. The meat is perfectly cooked and seasoned. Friendly, fast service & their margaritas are a must. I usually get the beef chimichanga with sour cream sauce. I don’t think it’s on the menu but I have always ordered it.

Just like almost every other Mexican restaurant in Norman. Might as well be called La Comida Generica. The queso is the same Elmer’s glue I have complained about from Tarahumara, Chuy’s, Ted’s, Chelino’s, etc… I orderedthree carne asada tacos with onions, lime, and cilantro. the tortillas they came on were so thin that they used two on each taco, which was too much and ended up tasting like unseasoned raw tortillas and nothing else. That, with no sides, and an iced tea was 12 $. Overpriced, underportioned, and no atmosphere to speak of. Everyone seemed relatively uninterested in being there. I won’t go again. Back I go to Pepe Delgado’s.

Not bad. The queso is a bit soupy, the tortillas aren’t made fresh, but the food is tasty, hot, and reasonably priced.

The furnishings are low key, but the food was very good. The employees were very friendly. The only negative I have is other customers were very loud and rude. I wish the person serving them would have asked them to quite down a little bit.

This place has alot on the menu, so take my review for what it’s worth. I’ll start with what I liked… first, free refills on horchata! lol, not all places give refills on horchata and i’m a big fan of it. you get free chips with salsa AND cheese sauce with your meal. the chips aren’t too thick, the salsa is fresh and has a bit of kick to it, and the cheese sauce tasted like cheese… it just looks kinda funky. i had the bisteak and camarones(beef steak and shrimp) with jalepenos. the steak was thinly sliced but was much more tough to eat than i expected. there wasnt much shrimp on the plate and they were small… from the taste, you can tell that they are not high quality previously frozen shrimp(as opposed to high quality previously frozen shrimp). I’m not opposed to eating there again, but the place doesn’t really entice me for a 2nd trip. if you do decide to eat there, be prepared for a very friendly and attentive wait staff… and be warned that their definition of «spicy» is way more spicy than my version. the jalepenos are hot and you’ll pay for it(twice) if you’re not careful!

Another solid meal at Los Vaqueros. One thing that is outstanding here is the service. The really are attentive and friendly. I haven’t seen one female employee, maybe it has something to do with the name of the place. Don’t know what a «vaquero» is maybe it means dudes that cook. Maybe it means women-hater, I’m too lazy it to google it. I saw someone get a whole fish fried with the head on it. Cool. See my cool pics of the Beto Special, theres a chile relleno under that cheese glacier.

If you want awesome Mexican food but DON’T want to spend a lot of money(read: Ted’s) then Los Vaqueros is the place for you! The chips, salsa, and queso are never empty(and everyone at the table gets their own bowl, feel free to double dip to your little heart’s content… sickos!) And the prices are scarily good. Go there for lunch and get sizzling flippin’ fajitas for less than 7BONES! I have a healthy appetite and even I can usually make TWO meals out of it. In economic times like these, you can’t afford NOT to go here. This is one of those places I miss so much after leaving OKC. (NOTE:I dined primarily at the Midwest City location, but they are all good!)
