Good Indian food. They are always friendly and provide good service. It’s a little pricey for Buffett if you don’t like but certain Indian foods but overall not bad. I’ve ordered take out here before and you don’t get a whole lot in the little bowls they give you for the price… Overall it’s a good place with good Indian food.

If you love Indian food get your onion bhaji over her and tandoori up to a table for a vindaloo of a time. I am originally from Blighty so finding a good Indian restaurant serving tasty, authentic food is a great find. The service is above par, they have a buffet that will blow your eyes out of your skull. A full bar and the cost is easy On the wallet. There are several Indian restaurants in the city, goporum is #1.

Gopuram has been here as long as I can remember, so it must be good enough to have stuck around this long, right? And even have opened a second location. Yes, it is good enough, just not great. There are a lot more places to get Indian food than there used to be, and I just didn’t find it quite up to par with some of the others. I like the chicken tikka and vegetable korma. I enjoy that their buffet includes so many vegetarian options. Something new I hadn’t tried anywhere else that they had here was lemon rice. Truly everything I had was a-okay, I just wasn’t blown away by anything. The restaurant itself is decent, but I got my food to-go, so I didn’t experience the service much. The register is at the back of the restaurant which I didn’t know my first time visiting, so I had to track down a server to know what to do. At their new location it’s in the front, so that’s less confusing. Something I really appreciate about Gopuram is that they support the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Even though they aren’t my favorite Indian restaurant, that makes them cool in my book!

The best Indian food in Oklahoma. I usually hate buffets but this one is the exception. Lots of great high quality options that are well spiced and tasty. The ambiance is festive and fun, service is excellent, and it’s all very reasonably priced.

Terrible hospitality !!! I would have given 0 stars if possible. We were waiting to be seated, a waiter was walking and talking over the phone. He saw us but he turned his back and started walking away in the opposite direction. No one else was there around to get us seated. We waited for around 5 mins near the entrance and after no response we had to leave the place. I am very surprised why they have a board saying«please wait to be seated«.

This place is good! They have a wonderful buffet and the take out might be better! This is our favorite Indian place in OKC and we have been to India and had home cooking there!

Love this place. GREATFOOD. I like that they will kick up the spice if asked. Servers are friendly, they bring out fresh naan to the tables. The buffet is always outstanding, but I love ordering from the menu in order to get items not on the buffet. Love the Samosas.

I just had the most epic dinner at Gopuram. It was so OUTSTANDING in EVERY way that I have to give an update & upgrade. First of all, I wasn’t even suppose to be in town, I just decided to drive up to surprise my hubby & we decided to go have Indian food at the last minute bc I had not been to Gopuram for at least 6 months maybe more. I LOVE Gopuram & was so excited to have Indian food! We get there pretty early for dinner & I was surprised to see it was busier than I have ever seen it. The whole restaurant was FULL as its a pretty big place. I have never seen it that packed. So, hubby & I are standing by the door waiting for someone to seat us when this Indian man(let’s call him«Mr. Gopuram» bc I have seen him there every time I have been there but I don’t know his name) sees us standing there & bolts towards us! He literally runs straight towards us across the entire restaurant & basically knocks me out of the way to get to my husband to shake his hand. Clearly, he has mistaken my husband for someone else or my husband has been spending more business dinners out than I’m aware? Mr. Gopuram appears to be very excited to see us & seat us, everyone is all smiles & the place was buzzing, Indian music playing in the background the ambiance was awesome. They bring us nice new menus! WOW, I look around, I think they have painted the ceilings, as it looks much nicer inside. Mr. Gopuram is running around the restaurant checking on lots of people, they are clearly super busy, however he keeps coming over checking on us & talking to my husband who orders all our food. I’m starting to wonder who has kidnapped my husband bc I don’t know this person I’m with. He has never ordered Indian food in his whole life, didn’t even like Indian food until I forced him to try it. While we are waiting for our dinner to arrive a large crowd of business men walked in & were seated at a long table. They place is completely packed now & Mr. Gopuram is running around like a chicken with his head cut off. However he is bringing us fresh breads & dipping sauce & more beers & telling us that there is a small wait for our food bc they are super busy. It was a small wait, longer than usual, however when the plates started arriving the aromas alone kick started all my senses & taste buds! All the dishes hubby ordered were AMAZING. I have always loved Goouram but they have clearly upped their game or hubby has some Bollywood secret to ordering now bc it was WAY better than what I have gotten before. This dinner was New York Indian food quality. The naan they made for us came out so hot we had to let it cool slightly b4 we touched it. The Punjabi saag with the lamb was 2.die.4& so spicy I broke out in a sweat instantly. That has never happened B4. I LOVED it, as everyone that knows me knows, I LOVEXXX euphoric inducing spicy. Especially when it’s so hot that you can’t feel you face like you snorted a plate of 8-balls like Al Pachino did in the movie Scarface. Yeah, it was like that. The spicy Bindi Masala, the sautéed okra & bell peppers, omg it was cooked perfectly crispy on the outside yet still firm & it was XXX euphoric spicy melt your face off too LOVED it :)… The Mali Kofta is the veggie dumpling in the cashew sauce. Not spicy at all. It’s rich & creamy, full of exotic flavor, simply divine. The eggplant dish with the potato hubby ordered isn’t even on the menu. It was XXX spicy sautéed eggplant with potatoes & super flavorful. Best eggplant dish I have ever had period. And looking back at all the pics I have posted the last two years you can clearly see the improvement. I mean, the freakin rice was even better! It had more fennel seeds/cumin seeds, LOVED it ALL. I just want to say Thank you to Mr. Gopuram. Not only has your restaurant improved you have clearly been dating my husband when I’m not around, feeding him & teaching him the ancient ways. Looking forward to the belly dancing instructions. Carry on. Highly recommend.

This place is fantastic! I’ve been coming here literally since I was a little girl. Today the waiter brought me a whole plate of fresh naan. They usually being fresh naan and chicken around to tables on busy nights. I’ve been to other Indian buffets in town, but Gopuram is by far the best. I travel a bit further just to come here even though others are closer. Also, don’t sleep on the mushroom soup! It’s a must! Mint chutney in the yogurt sauce is also amazing.

Enjoyable experience here. Nice décor, very friendly service, and of course the food! We were introduced to the wonders of Indian food a few years ago and love trying new spots. After being disappointed at a spot closer to our house(not really their fault, just didn’t hit my taste palate), we tried this place with friends. Great selection for their buffet, and the price is pretty standard(12 or so per person as I recall). They had some items there I hadn’t seen before, all of which were very good. Excellent spices for every dish. My go to is Chicken Tikka Masala and it was excellent. We will certainly make this place a staple of our Indian dining outings.

OKC’s very own Jeff M inspired me to update my Gopuram review as much has changed since I last wrote my review. Or maybe because lots has changed since nothing here ever changes. As I can neither be wittier nor funnier than Jeff M in this lifetime, I’m just gonna lay it down straight. — I first came to Gopuram in 2008. «Mind blown. Dayum, good eats. Bomb palak paneer and amazing mango custard for me to ingest by the bucket.» — Fast forward || 2011 after getting back from Japan. «Uhh… this place has not changed at ALL.» — 2014 || «The curries are getting thinner and food is lukewarm, but I love the hot naan, and I can drink that mango custard sauce by the bucket still.» — 2015 || «Guys… when I sit down in the booth and my ass falls through the seat because the cushions need upholstering, maybe it’s time to change SOMETHING and invest back into the store a little.» Lukewarm curry at dinner time also makes me sigh. I love all of the flavors and the palak paneer here, but most of the time it’s been lukewarm. Himalayas has become my go-to ever since they figured out how to make their mango custard sauce stuff(Jeff, what is this stuff called??) about as good. And for some reason, Gopuram decided that at .59/lb(retail) bananas cost too much, so you have to go fishing through the apples to find any banana half the time, which means that you don’t win either since I took the only 3 slices left. Deal. Breaker. I’m seriously the worst Indian food-buffet-eater ever when it comes to value since I’m happy filling my belly with bread, rice, curry sauces, two bites of chicken, and mango custard.(This also makes me every Indian buffet owner’s dream customer.) While both are inconsistent, Gopuram seems to be more inconsistent of the two, and Gopuram is like Hollywood… in bad need of a facelift if you want to stay in the business.

8 out of 12 Indians agree that this restaurant is best described by a shoulder shrug. I didn’t make that up. That’s an actual statistic. I counted the Indian(ish) Unilocalers that have reviewed Gopuram so far. Only one(out of two positive reviews) thinks it’s absolutely amazing. Another two think it’s downright terrible. You can do better. You can do worse. Gopuram has a reasonable buffet if you’re trying to take someone with limited knowledge about Indian food. We all know the person that I’m referring to. The person who scrunches his(or her) nose and says things like: a. «I don’t like Indian food. There’s too much [insert spice other than salt or pepper]. It should be creamier and not so spicy. Can we go to Olive Garden instead?» b. «Why is it that color? What’s in it? I can’t eat it if I don’t know what’s in it. Can we go to Olive Garden instead?» c. «I love that Naan bread! Let’s get some Chai Tea Lattes after. Or how about some Olive Garden?» Go for a lunch buffet during the week. It’s busy enough where nothing sits for long periods of time. The selection is average, and it’s not as spicy as some of the other Indian joints in town. The customer service ranges from mediocre to above average. Overall the entire experience is… :shoulder shrug:

Living in Edmond, I am not always a fan of driving down to OKC to get some grub, but damn, was Goporum worth the drive across the turnpike and down 44. I came on a Thursday night with 10 ladies in tow, and the restaurant was absolutely empty. Don’t let that fool you, though, because the buffet was ready and waiting. Service was excellent — they hand-delivered fresh naan to our table as well as chicken skewers. Every thing I tried was delicious. I am not the best at remembering the names of dishes, but believe you me, it was so good. There were some dishes I get at other buffets that weren’t available here(again, terrible at remembering names other than that«really tasty yellow stuff»), but overall, I would definitely come back here next time I’m down that side of town.

The food is utterly tasteless. No spice whatsoever — and I’m saying that as a white girl. As I ate, I had to wonder if all the chefs were white. I really, really don’t understand how this place wins awards. It only gets a star from me because it didn’t give me food poisoning. My search for the best Indian food continues, but this is definitely the worst Indian food I’ve had in Oklahoma City to date. I will not be returning. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to eat.

I’ve been here along with friends on my last day in Oklahoma state. We went pretty late and I guess that’s the mistake that we did. Ambience is very nice and in fact excellent for an Indian Restaurant. Welcome was okay. Starters are almost finished and started filling once we entered into dining. But that too not as we wished but just a few quantity was brought to my table to serve. Mutton Shea kabob was very good Vada was okay. Chicken tandoori also nice. Main course is something I was really disappointed as the Biryani is not at all tasty and chicken butter masala was disgusting. Done with those and checked out.

Gopuram is probably the most Americanized Indian restaurant in OKC. I only tried the buffet so I can’t comment on the a la carte items which may be better. All the buffet items had a sameness to it ie the food had the spice level toned down with lots of cream and this was very disappointing for me at least. The service was good and the layout was nice for an Indian place. However, with a buffet that really doesn’t represent true Indian cuisine, the only way I will ever be back here is if I need to introduce someone to non-spicy remotely Indian food or to try the a la carte items(with a request for spicy).

I’m glad I got to head to Gopuram finally after exclusively eating their food at the art festival, of all places. It’s always so insanely good that when I had the opportunity to finally eat from the main kitchen, I was very excited. Sadly, lunch didn’t compare well to previous experience, perhaps because it was from the buffet instead of made to order. The naan is certainly excellent, and many of the curries were very good as well. But there were too many items a bit off on temperature, or even a bit bland. I also had the classic«hair that did not at any point belong to me show up on the naan,» which thankfully only happened at the end of my meal or I might not have gotten my money’s worth out of the buffet. So just an average spot; on to Jeff’s list for better Indian food in the area.

Meh, I have had better but this place isn’t too bad. We went in ad a group of 10 and there were only 2 other groups there during lunch. We wanted to sit up front in these cute little rooms(they had 4), but they wouldn’t let us. They said it would be $ 20 a person to take our shoes off and sit in the cute room. Oh well, we skipped that. The buffet is the biggest one I have ever been to, the waiter was okay, chia tea was okay. Some of the food wasn’t too hot, a little warm. Maybe we just came at a bad time? I do want to try again and I’ll update then.
