I brought a car full of stuff to this place. The lady working inside just walked out and started pulling boxes out of the trunk. I appreciate her enthusiasm and efficiency and all. But a little, «Hi. Would you like some assistance?» Goes a long way. When we finished unloading she just handed me a tax form. She never said a word the whole time. I prefer to go to other locations just because of this. A simple«Thanks.» Would’ve been nice. Maybe it’s just because I have a customer service oriented job, I don’t know. I felt kind of disrespected. I hope at least my donations help someone in need.

Good job, Goodwill for a donation center that works so well. Conveniently located, I pulled up near the door on the west side, and before I could get my seatbelt off and get out of the car, an employee was out to meet me. He helped me get everything out of my car, was über-polite, and offered me a tax receipt without my having to ask for it. Which is nice, because I’m sure I would have forgotten. The phone rang while he was helping me, and he took care of it quickly and then apologized to me for not being right there when I pulled a few more things out of my car. He was seriously gone for like 20 seconds. He must have sensed I was in a hurry(I had a conference call I needed to join in just a few minutes and almost didn’t run this errand lest I risk being late for my call). I was in and out in less than five minutes. I wish I had taken an extra minute to better thank the young man who helped me. I also appreciate Goodwill for providing their employees with a safe place to work. I always feel so bad for the people working the Salvation Army trailer in the Lowe’s parking lot, either too hot or too cold. The Goodwill space is all indoors and when employees aren’t helping accept donations, they are inside sorting and organizing. The brick and mortar space just makes me feel a little bit better about the entire transaction.
