This place is pretty dope. I didn’t realize I drive by it every Tuesday. Decided to give it a try and it’s legit. I will be back for future haircuts. The owner was cutting hair right, which I thought was cool. Fresh cut, no pain, no bullshit just a good cut worth bragging about that didn’t take log at all . Oh and the building inside is a lil different which makes it unique. Cool place

Right when you walk into the shop you get warm welcomes from everyone. They try to converse with you and honestly get to know you. They’re great at making you feel comfortable and providing a fun experience. The haircut! I will be honest when I’m saying Ive never had a better hair cut. One that takes time as well, Fitz was my barber and he took time and effort into providing the best haircut experience I could have. You could tell he truly cared about his customer and wanting every single customer to feel the same way. Its not like that when you go to a supercuts or sportsclips or whatever, at those places they spend 15 – 20 minutes on your hair and your done. Fitz also is great at trimming the beard up, and he has that straight razor that is best for trimming your neck up and making everything look as clean as possible. I could rant about this guy for days, or you could just go into the shop and experience it in person!

There is almost no better way to feel good about yourself than to walk in to a new place and be greeted warmly by friendly guys who learn your name immediately, talk to you casually and with great natural skill– and then give you the best haircut in your memory. And that is exactly what happened to THIS guy when he walked into the quietly cool Fitzgerald’s. Julius Iboni is now my haircut guy and he– like the owner, Phil, and Jesse(I know there are others on days I’m not there), can do everything asked of them including the coolest cuts, trims, and old-fashioned straight razor shaves, with great care and great conversation. For me to be made to feel so welcome in a place so young and cool is a huge tribute to Phil’s ethos, and every customer I have seen in that place looks as happy as me. Go make some new friends and get an awesome haircut today!

Fitzgerald’s has always been a clean, enjoyable establishment that I love going to. The barbers there are very competent, and have given me some top-notch hair cuts! I will continue to return to this establishment!

I was in Oklahoma City for the day for work and had a couple hours to kill before heading to the airport after my meeting. My hair had some shag to it and thought a haircut might be a good time killer. After looking high and low I settled on Fitzgerald’s based on the reviews in google and Unilocal.I called up the number on the Unilocal profile and it went to the personal cell for the, I think, owner? He answered and let me know he was dying of the flu but the shop should still be open and possibly taking walk ins. I had called a salon just before Fitz’s and was turned down because they don’t take walk-ins on weekdays. I asked the owner what the wait was and he made mention of mostly taking appointments during the week as well but I should drop by. I said I would but wasn’t too sure I’d get lucky with timing. As I was driving to the barber shop I got a call from a random OKC number. I answered and it was OJ the barber on duty at Fitz’s. He just wanted to let me know that he heard from the owner and he was indeed available for a walk-in. That really impressed me. Interior is exposed brick walls, old barber chairs, and the barber pole stripes painted on the far wall. Two barbers were on the clock when I walked in, one with a customer and the other, OJ. OJ sat me down and took care of my hair. He was really friendly and chatted me up while getting to work on my hair. When I left, I had a new haircut that looked great and was happy with my time spent at Fitzgerald’s. I was really impressed with the customer service and if I’m ever in need of a haircut or shave in OKC again, I know where to look.

There is nothing like losing a barber due to a move and having to find another. It’s a lot like moving from mom’s house and all the sudden realizing that your favorite meal won’t be available… Unless you learned how to cook it. And damn… Who learned how to cook as good as Mom? Not me! Such is the case with barbershops. We count on them… They sustain us. They represent us and help us feel good. And when we end up in a new city… Finding one that can do all of this… Plus cut hair like a MF’r? We love on them! :-) So… To Phillip and OJ: Thank you for welcoming me into your barber chair. Thank you for telling me about your neighborhood, your story, and for cutting my hair so very well! I’d recommend you to all of my childhood friends, but since I just moved here, this is all the joy that I can bring you… A reco and review on Unilocal!I hope you appreciate my dilemma and I want you to know that I really did love my haircut. Thank you and please… People of OKC, come in a get a haircut. This is a joint with swagger! You’ll dig it!

Fitz is simply the best. I always walk out looking fly and I always get several compliments on my haircut. Some days I walk in and I don’t know what I want. It takes a lot of trust to let your barber have at it with out discretion. Fitz has surprised me by giving me a haircut that I didn’t even know I could pull off. He’s more than a barber, he’s an artist. That’s real talk.

I was looking for somewhere closer to get my hair cut. I’d been to a few other places who did good work, but they were almost 30 minutes away from me. My wife had heard about this place so she recommended I give it a try. I couldn’t find any info on the place on Unilocal or Google maps, so I had to to a internet search instead to find any information. I called the number, the guy who answered told me it was $ 23 for a mens haircut(a little on the high side IMO) and told him I was gonna call around. «I’m the best there is in OKC sir, don’t waste your time calling around. Come in and I’ll take care of you, if you don’t like it, it’s on me». I still was gonna call around to see if anywhere else was more reasonable, so I got off the phone with him and carried on. The place I was going to go to was a mistaken pin that in actuality no longer existed. So I headed over towards Fitzgerald’s, seeing as how confident he seemed to be and the fact he had bothered to text me his info once I got off the phone with him. I pulled up and a woman with her 9 year old son walked in right before me, I’m not sure if they had an appointment or not. I kicked myself for not getting out of the car immediately, and went in and prepared to wait. He recognized my voice from the phone and told me he was going to do the boys haircut and had another guy coming in for a trim afterward. «The trim wont take long at all». I knew I was a walk in, so I happily sat down and waited. A half hour passes and in the meantime the other gentleman walks in and sits down and waits for him to finish the boys hair. The gentleman takes his seat afterward and I’m expecting another 10, maybe 15 minutes tops for this«trim». I finally left after waiting an hour. If you are going to give somebody a «trim» call it a «trim», but if someone is coming in for a haircut, then don’t make it seem like a quick 5 – 10 minute job when you know full wwell how long you are going to take. If you know it is going to be that long, make sure your customer knows this and give them the option of going and getting something to eat, or rescheduling if they don’t have an hour to wait. As I sat there I leafed through my wallet to see how much cash I had. There was only about $ 15 in my wallet, so I no choice but to use a card. I asked him if he accepted credit cards and he said«Yes, but there is a $ 2 surcharge». I’m a small business owner, I have a device that plugs into the top of my iPhone and allows me to accept credit cards. I does not cost me $ 2 per transaction. Charging somebody more because they use their credit card instead of cash is in direct violation of every credit card agreement business sign to be able to process them. I see a lot of places that still have signs, and I normally don’t worry about it because I happily either pay cash, or buy enough to «warrant» the use of the card. Most of the time it’s at coffee shops or other places who are selling things that are less than $ 5. I get it. I’m happy to support local businesses. When you are charging $ 23 for a mens haircut though, that’s a different story all together. I stood up and left and not a word was spoken. I got about a mile down the road when I received a text : «Are you leaving?» «It’s been an hour so yeah. if you would have told me that to begin with I would’ve left and come back but I don’t have the time to waste anymore» His response #1: «Sir with all due respect I took care of my appointments. You are a walk in. 30 minutes apiece is more than reasonable. On top of that I took the cape off the moment you left so you did in fact waste your on time due to bring impatient. I don’t know what your used to going to salons but here we take care of each client with care and prediction. Good job,» #2: «And I very well told you that there were two people ahead of you. From the VERY beginning. Cheers.» And finally #3: «Let me know after you get your hair butchered if you need it fixed.» He mentioned nothing about their being 2 people in front of me on the phone initially, he made it sound like the afternoon was wide open. When I got there he didn’t tell me there were 2 appointments ahead of me, just mentioned a trim after the boy’s haircut. Don’t call me impatient when I sat waiting for an hour. Don’t expect my business after you condescendingly tell me «Good job» and«Let me know after you get your hair butchered if you need it fixed». Unprofessional. Uncourteous. And my hair is still uncut. Stay classy Fitzgerald’s…
