OMGSHOES! Let me start off by saying that I am a different kind of shopper. I know what I want, I research before hand, and I don’t like sales associates taking me from my mission. And I always have a mission. This time it was running shoes. Last time it was light brown flats. Before it’s been floral print 2 in heels. I’m always very specific. I prefer coming to DSW so that I can be in and out very quickly. I nearly always find what I’m looking for at DSW. Shopping hasn’t ever been much of a social event for me. I enjoy that DSW doesn’t have salespeople following you around like hungry pigeons in the park. I’m a member of their points program, and get $ 10 off coupons pretty frequently since I replace my standard shoes here consistently. I would agree that they were a bit short handed, even by my standards. I had to wait a minute or so until a rep came over to the cashier. A minor detour once I already had my black running shoes in hand.

Love this place! I am always shopping here, online or in-store. Staff here are helpful at the counter but not so much on the floor(you should work on that DSW). I went through maybe 20 pairs of shoes once and not one time did someone ask me if I needed help. Just some random guy who worked there walking about with a stale look on his face. The ladies at the counter however are always super nice and helpful in making returns from online-to-store and exchanges.

Come here for the selection, stay for the… um, the… hey, um, can anybody help me? I guess that’s how they are able to offer shoes at 20−40% below the same prices at the mall, but it does always surprise how few people can staff such a large store. This has to be one of the lowest staff member to square foot ratios in the whole of retail. That said, there’s not a lot you need help with. If they have your size, it will be there, before your eyes. In some ways, if you’re very indecisive(like me), it is kind of nice, because you don’t have to feel bad asking the salesperson to go back to the storeroom for the fifty second time. It does get old having to put them all back, just so, with their little inserts perfectly placed inside the arches. Who are we kidding, of course I don’t do that. I know you’re supposed to, but does anyone, really? Or am I the big jerk of the DSW? I really do find good deals on shoes here, and they really do have almost everything a lady could need when it comes to shoes. It’s no Metro Shoe Warehouse, but sometimes, for some brands, you do just need a DSW.

First, let me say that I love the DSW stores on a whole… but for this particular location… From a man’s point of view, this place kind if sucks now compared to what it used to be. They used to have a great men’s selection… Not so much anymore. Now the men are shoved back in the corner with very little to choose from. I would say that the men’s selection is almost half of what it used to be. NOT a happy customer…

Five years ago, I bought some great riding boots online. I was thoroughly bummed when my animals destroyed my boots. I checked out dsw online and was thrilled to see a wide array of boots that I thought were just gorgeous. I went to the local dsw yesterday to see what their selection was. I walked in and the store was full of about six customers total. Four or five employees were wandering around and chatting with each other, and I noticed approximately one working the cash register. I must have made the rounds of the boot aisles 7 or 8 times. I was never acknowledged by an employee once. A few made eye contact with me, and did not smile, say hello, or anything. In fact, they looked annoyed that I was walking near them to get to the boots that I was checking out. I think I was interrupting a very intense conversation about how much makeup to wear to work versus how much to wear when going out at night. Mind you, I do not like to be stalked when I am shopping. However, when I occupy space at a store for the better part of an hour, I do appreciate at least a courtesy«can I help you». I would have understood it if the store was packed, but it was clearly down time. The fact was, I actually needed help. I need a wide calf boot, and the boots I was trying on labeled wide calf still did not fit me. I was trying to avoid the hassle of online shopping for something as specific as boots, given that I will likely have to return some before I find the right ones. I’m totally bummed given that I have actually been a pretty loyal dsw shopper across several states and over several years.

I used to really enjoy this place, they had a great selection of men’s shoes, but the last time I went I noticed that half of the men’s section had been replaced by more women’s shoes. Now the men’s section is incredibly tiny and lacks variety. The women’s section, however, is basically the entire store with a vast selection.
