I was hoping for more than it delivered. The 9oz ‘sirloin’ was more like a flat iron steak. Too thin to cook to proper temperature and the baked potato could have used a little more time baking. But… it’s not a bad value…9oz steak with 3-fried shrimp, salad and potato for under $ 15.00 is ok. I failed to notice the dinner special on the board near the host stand and it wasn’t mentioned by my server.

Unfortunately my son chose to have his birthday dinner here. My chicken was dry and chewy the bacon strips were like petrified wood. My mom’s blt was super old, dried up, over cooked bacon. The fries on 3 dinners were tasteless and cold. My husband said his burger was decent. The waiter was rude and forgetful. Very very grateful my son never wants to go back there.

My family and I had dinner tonight and it wasn’t good at all. The waitress was ok but when you give someone their drink please do not touch the top rim of glass. The steaks were dry and unseasoned. This isn’t the first time we have ate at CHEQUERS but it may be the last.

My wife had eaten here a couple of months ago when she traveled to OKC with a friend. She said the steaks were cut with a fork melt in your mouth. We make a special effort to hit OKC at a time to eat there. My wife got the 6 oz sirloin and I got a 12oz strip. Neither mine or hers was cut with a fork but they were tender and taste. Hers was cooked to perfection. I ordered mine rare and it came medium rare. Most places do not really seem to know what rare is or afraid their customer really does not want it rare. Mine can be purple and cool in the center and I am fine. This is a place I would definitely go back to when I am in the area. Forgot to say, the food price for what you get is great. Lots to eat for little dollars.

I used to eat here regularly 10 yrs ago. The place has gone down a lot. I had the crummiest taco salad– i would have sent it back but I was with a friend & didnt want to ruin the outing. We sat in the sun room, furniture was run down, it was dark & dank on a cold night. Terrible ambiance. Wont go back.

I ate here a few times years ago and was not impressed at all. I went back a few weeks ago and had a lot better experience than I remembered. The service was friendly and the menu had a lot of choices to choose from. Not to mention all of the menu items are reasonably priced. I had the teriyaki chicken and it was pretty good. If you are in the area and want to go somewhere for a few drinks I would suggest this place.

I stopped here for lunch with the family while on a short trip to OKC. The place is definitely a local pub vibe and the menu is expansive with page after page of food from several different ethnic styles. Since I was a bit overwhelmed with the menu I went to one of my old stand-bys when I stop at places like this and ordered the chicken fried steak. My kids had a corn dog and a quesadilla and my wife decided to have a baked potato. First, when they brought my son’s quesadilla they brought it with chicken when he just wanted a plain cheese one. My younger son’s corn dog was what you would expect so not much to say there. My entrée came with a salad so I ordered a caesar. it came out with the dressing slopped on top of a bed of shredded lettuce and was rather off-putting. The crust on my steak was bland and flavorless and the accompanying gravy did little to remedy that. The order of baked potato my wife had came out with two potatoes and it also looked pretty sad. The service was fine aside from messing up on the quesadilla. I often find when I come to a place with a huge menu like this place with something like a hundred different things you can order, they have sacrificed quality and flavor for variety. Usually when you see a menu with a limited number of choices I have found that the food is better and more carefully crafted. While the food at this place will fill your belly, I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back if I am ever in the neighborhood again.

I’m a sucker for restaurants that get great word-of-mouth reviews, which is what brought me to Chequers in the first place. When visiting our family in OKC, I never miss a chance to eat here. You haven’t been to Chequers without trying the spinach dip and homemade potato chips. I suggest asking for a side of the dip to pour over a salad or even to dip your burger in… it’s that delicious! I’ve also found that a steak here cannot be beat(6oz for less than $ 10 at lunch!) It’s a bargain. Don’t miss happy hours specials at the bar, and it’s even a great place to go to watch the game(or even a stop before heading out to cheer on OU or The Thunder).

I’ve walked by this place a few times and finally went in. It was busy, a lot of patrons sitting down. I finally decided to try the place for a take-out order. I ordered one of their paninis which smelled and tasted great, but it was dripping in oil which was gross. I used a good handful of napkins to press out the oil. Maybe next time I will sit in and dine, and choose something else.
