Front desk service was great! It’s a bit hard to find, but the hotel once you get here doesn’t disappoint. For the price you get a clean room with fridge and microwave, cable tv, and good water pressure. Breakfast was good, nothing to write home about, the staff at breakfast is another story, they were rude and dismissive when my husband went to ask for a high chair for our baby. The lady waved him off and said, «yeah yeah I’ll get it»…seriously lady? I’m sorry did we interrupt your busy day of SERVINGCUSTOMERS?!

Really clean room and bathroom. You can tell the staff takes a lot of pride in their cleanliness. The breakfast was good. I really enjoyed my stay. The bed was very comfy. My only concern is that my smoke detector was covered with a plastic bag(maybe the people who were in there before covered it to smoke). That weirded me out. But overall I had a good stay for a good price on Priceline. Would stay again.

It was okay. The whole experience was decent, nothing particularly great but it wasn’t bad. Rooms were alright, comfortable enough. Breakfast was fine, about as good as you can expect from a 2 star. It was affordable and pet friendly, but probably wont be my first choice next time I’m in town.

We got such cheap price for a Saturday night. Room was nice and clean and receptionist was friendly. We had cocktails in the agency bar, at the hotel. Being a mad men fan i loved the bar, as it had mad men quotes all over the walls. We got chatting to a blonde bar lady all night there. She was lovely and made us good strong drinks all night. Breakfast wasn’t wow. But it never is at these ‘free’ breakfast buffets, but there’s always fruit you can grab or some cereal :)

Rooms were decent but staff needs help on customer service– basketball teams/groups aren’t well accommodated. Breakfast nazis is also a problem– with waiting every morning for a breakfast tkt– suggestion: give a code at check in to use or something(waiting behind people checking out is ridiculous just to get breakfast!)

Hotel should be better rated… service good, room nice and clean, FREE breakfast better than many. Call hotel direct and get best rate. I stay at a lot of mid level(cheaper) places and I would come back here. On the North Central Side but still easy for all access.

We were almost scared off by the poor reviews but after checking out the exterior and the lobby and finding it well maintained and festive, we decided to stay.(See pictures) At the AARP discounted price of $ 68. We got a wonderful room with a free upgrade that included free wifi and a free hot breakfast. The breakfast included fluffy scrambled eggs, sausage, do it yourself Belgian waffles and a lot more. Even the apples were sweet, fresh and crunchy. Glad we stayed.

Room key stopped working after one use. Our dogs were inside the room and barking and we couldn’t get to them to calm them. After front desk clerk sent me back three different times to re-try with new keys, she finally sent a maintenance person. 45 minutes later, he finagled the lock with a coat hanger looking thing. I felt awful for annoying the other guests because the dogs were barking like crazy. We bought frozen dinners from the lobby for the kids as they were starving after being in the road all day. Worst 18.00 I’ve ever spent! The microwave dinners were thawed out by the time we were finally able to get into our room. A sincere apology would have smoothed things over, but instead I felt like I was a bother to the staff.

The quality of my room was that of a cheap motel. The pull out couch in the«suite» we stayed in legitimately looked like it was picked up off a curb somewhere. The material was ripping off the corners and the filth was visible. We arrived two hours before the in-hotel diner was supposed to close and the employees appeared to have turned the lights off in the dining area to discourage patrons from entering. We entered, looked around confused, and were not greeted by the bartender. They also do not have normal length pillows on the beds! They are the size of couch cushions. Lights are dim, paint on the walls has touch-ups all over the place. I mean I can care less what color my hotel walls are, but this speaks to the product this hotel believes is acceptable. All around an awful hotel, DONOTSTAY!

For the price the hotel was great. Rooms were nice, service was great and extremely helpful. Pool was perfect temperature, outdoor probably not heated. Breakfast was pretty good. Only thing the restaurant is not open on the weekends.

If you are staying at this motel because you’re having surgery make certain to book by phone and ask for the«Hospital Rate»; much cheaper than any online deals. Overall this was a good stay. The only reason I marked cleanliness low is because of the incredibly strong scent of cleaning product in our room. Everything was, however, very clean. The front desk service was excellent. I would stay again just because we were treated so well by the front desk clerk. This is a good stay for the cost, and surprisingly still had smoking rooms. I was really surprised by the bad reviews of this place; we had a pretty good experience.

Three key words: INFESTEDWITHCOCKROACHES! And no, I don’t mean«we saw a cockroach;» rather, we captured and killed a multitude of roaches within a few minutes of seeing the first little one running down the edge of the tub in a well-lit bathroom. I then saw significantly larger one(both are displayed in the posted photo) on the rug next to the work area and another by the radiator, which marked the beginning of a extensive cockroach hunt/investigation, where we discovered more live roaches of varying sizes at the base of the walls, behind and in the sleeper sofa, two more next to the workstation(this one crawled down the wall no more than three feet from where I was sitting), one running up the wall directly next to the bed, and through out HVAC unit. Cockroaches began, literally, coming out of the window pane in droves after we caught and killed the larger ones in the HVAC unit,(it was directly beneath the window). Now this was just outrageous, as roaches are known spreaders of disease(the worker at Best Western denied this was«even that unhealthy» at all, and openly confessed, on recording, to the fact that he didn’t consider our situation(re: the right to healthy and sanitary living/sleeping conditions/a.k.a. THEONLYTHING A MOTELORHOTELISTRULYFOR!) was«even a serious matter» or «worth calling management for.» In sum, while it was deeply obviously this warranted immediate and serious action, the staff were HORRID. In fact, only slightly worse than the quantity of roaches was the attitude and uselessness of the front desk staff. When roach #1 was spotted and killed, I called the front desk, only to be told(verbatim), «You don’t even know what a roach looks like,» and nothing further was done. I was irritated, but since both my partner and I have lived in New York City and have dealt with our share of cockroaches and assholes, we did not want to get into a massive altercation; we’d been in the car all day and had wanted nothing more than to eat some dinner and relax. That never happened at The Best Western. Instead, I was told by the first clerk that I was«wrong,» but by 11pm, when the real roach show began, the second night clerk agreed to come to our room to «deal with the problem.» He agreed that what we’d collected was indeed«a lot of roaches, all right,» and even had the privilege of watching as I snapped photos of even more of the smaller ones running up the walls. Yes, you read that correctly. ROACHESRANDOWNTHEWALLSAS A WORKER @ BESTWESTERNSTOODIDLYINOURROOM, ULTIMATELYSUGGESTINGHEREFUNDOURMONEYIFANDONLYIFWEAGREEDTOLEAVETHEMOTELIMMEDIATELY(seriously: my partner and I were/are FURIOUS and SHOCKED). In essence, The Best Western punished their customers, who had driven over 10 hours at day, at midnight, in a city we do not know by giving us a room infested with cockroaches, loads of attitude, the complete absence of customer care, and A THREATTOCALLTHEPOLICE. In fact, an ARMEDGUARD(with his hand on his GUN) watched as I checked out, as my partner put our belongings back into the car, and even as we pulled away. Would you really want that«complimentary» hot breakfast buffet the next morning after all? Ugh. The atmosphere was not one that made us exceedingly hungry, to put it mildly. Ultimately, we checked in at the Motel 6 down the road(it was almost 1am by this point), where the night manager, which The Best Western claimed«not to have,» gave us a King Suite for $ 56(including taxes!) because he felt so bad for the hassle we had The Best Western. STAYFARAWAYFROMTHISPLACE! I’d honestly feel guilty withholding this information from potential customers: it truly is THAT bad. So so yourself a massive favor and take your precious time, money, and peace of mind to a better place. No one deserves this.

the room stunk horrifically of smoke. i could have asked to change rooms but i was only there a short time. the other smell was too much cleaning chemicals. the place seemed really depressing. the continental breakfast was mostly hi-glycemic index foods and not very appealing. staff were not very friendly. given how much i paid i thought it would have been more decent, but was below average for a «budget motel.»
