**just a forewarning: make it completely clear what size you order for food and what size the lady rings up at the register** This food here is average. It’s not much different from your basic boba joint. Only difference is their volcano fries– which is just fries with teriyaki chicken and their«volcano sauce» which the lady doesn’t even know exactly what it is. While the lady was taking our order, it was like she didn’t know what drinks or food the store offers. We asked about certain food and what sizes they came in and it was completely wrong when we got our order. This place desperately needs more employees.

I tried the BBQ plate out tonight and it was pretty good. I’m pleased. I even tried the crunch roll and it was delicious! I’ll definitely go back and try their well known fries.

To be honest everything kinda sucks here, BUT their Volcano fries which they’re known for. Besides that, they’re sushi sucks, the macaroni salad sucks, their entrees suck. You can find other food around the area that are way better. But I still come here for their Volcano fries & Boba!

Go here only for boba or whatever drink you decide to order. If you come here for a lunch or dinner, prepare to wait a long time. Frankly, it shouldn’t take too long to prepare an order of fries. When the cashier told us that it would take 20 minutes to get the fries ready(we had already been waiting that long for that one order), we asked for a refund.

My family and I frequent this place since we live close by. Service has been inconsistent — eg I usually get hung up on when trying to place a phone order and staff is a bit unprofessional at times. Nothing too major to warrant not returning and we always enjoy the food — it is quite tastea. :) But the other day I called to place an order around 11am and was told that my item could not be made because they ‘don’t have any rice.’ Now, call me crazy but if your restaurant name has the word ‘Hawaiian,’ you must have rice on hand at all times. Maybe unless you sell shaved ice only. I couldn’t believe it when I hung up. They lost business because they didn’t have an easy to make staple that 99% of their dishes have as a component.

I hate to give a bad review since we’ve been coming to this establishment for years. The former owner was very friendly and nice and I don’t know if it is because of the change of the ownership, but the qulity of the food has become hit or miss lately. We usually order Chicken Katsu with steamed vegetable(instead of rice and macaroni salad) along with boba drinks, and I never had any issue with the former owner. But especially the last few months, the side steamed vegetable is almost always black on the cut edge and it is too gross to eat it. I understand that they chop vegetables and store in the fridge as a prep, but I also know that it would take more than a few days if not a week to get that dark. Which makes me wonder how fresh other ingredients are. When it happened the first time, I asked my husband to tell them how bad the vegetable was. He came home with fresher looking vegetable when he asked, but next time it was way too salty to even put it in the mouth. So it’s like once in every 5 visits we get lucky and other times are just black color vegetable or too salty. Now my husband checks food before coming home, but today was another unlucky day. It was obviously not fresh and he mentioned that to the employee and was only told it is fresh. This place is very convenient for me and I’d like to keep it as our take-out rotation. And I’m finally writing this review in hopes that they realize it’s not cool. It’s been a few months of throwing half of my order away, and sadly we would stop going there. We may still stop by for drinks, but not food.

I hate giving bad reviews, but my fiancé had ordered one of their sushi rolls and midway through eating it he found thin pieces of Saran Wrap-like plastic on the sides of his roll. AFTER eating a piece & having to pull a piece of clear plastic wrapper out of his mouth. When he brought this to the attention of the employee who took our orders she just told him that it might have been the wrap on top of the artificial crab. Seriously? That’s it? I mean, I guess if that’s how you accommodate to a group that just spent over $ 50 at your establishment(the food here is pretty inexpensive so we did buy a lot of items to get to $ 50). My four year old nephew had just downed his Californa Roll & if he had ended up coughing up a piece of Saran Wrap I would have been furious. This was a real bummer because the food here really isn’t that bad & I’m all about supporting local businesses. I’ve been here a few times, but I won’t be back after today.

Love this place! It’s conveniently right next to my house which is the best part. The food I’ve tried is really good and fresh and inexpensive! I like how they have mini plates if you don’t want to overdo it. The workers are always super friendly and the food is ready fast. No complaints!

If it’s your first time going there I would recommend getting the volcano fries. It’s a decent size for the price and if you enjoy that then you should be good to try other items on the menu. For myself I enjoy eating it, and I tried the chicken Katsu and it’s decent. I would give it a 5 star but is overall slow. So don’t expect to get your food fast when it’s busy

My first impression of this place is terrible. Every item I wanted to order was unavailable. Mind you, I called amid lunch time. The food I did end up ordering was good. I love their macaroni salad.

I’m basing this review solely on food… If it was overall ambiance I’d give it a 3 just because the front of the joint is run with kids from be high school and so are the employees. Nail salon was swamped with people so I decided to walk around the corner and try this place out. I ordered the mini bbq plate. Macaroni salad is actually decent … Could use a tad more salt but then again I’m a salty person. Rice is rice can’t mess it up. The chicken is actually pretty good. Grilled nicely and has good flavor. Overall I’d return here for a quick bite to eat before my pedi.

Food is ok Service is slow … Average I just here because it was acrossed the park. Maybe 2 employees on saturday evening is not ideal as far as staffing goes. The seemed overwhelmed. No restroom

Took us 30 mins to get our food! Forget supporting this local joint! And Turn On your AC! Horrible!

My volcano fries may be hot but the small Asian boy cashier was hotter. Foods pretty good. Nothing too too special. Kinda expensive but you generally get lots of food. Drinks are pretty good. I like the cookies n cream snow bubble. Not a huge fan of their macaroni salad.

3 stars because I like the food and drinks but the some of the staff are just plainly incompetent. Person taking my order screwed it up several times and then get mad as if it’s my fault she can hear, I speak loud and clear not sure what her problem is today. I’ve had excellent service here don’t understand what the problem was today.

The boba here was good. The food meh… the bbq ribs they gave me were all bones. I got the mixed bbq plate and my boyfriend got the chicken katsu plate. The chicken katsu was surprisingly good. The macaroni salad was meh. I did like the rice. Service was good, the décor is really funny amd cute. I would go back for boba but thats about it.

Meh… Ive been here for there Boba drinks before. This is the first time I came in here for food. I had their mocha snow bubble this time. It was pretty tasty! And it didn’t taste all powdery like some other boba joints. I ordered the chicken katsu. The chicken was nice and crispy. The rice was rice, no explanation need there. The macaroni tasted bland and could have used some seasoning or something. The portions were reasonable for the price. The staff is very young, like middle-school looking young, but they were able to take my order no problem. The resturant is actually quite small, but I didnt feel like I was cramped by the space. The décor is colorful and bright. I wouldn’t come back here for the food, but if I was in the area I’d swing by for a boba.

Came here when school just got out and the place was packed with kids… I honestly didn’t try any of their drinks… Husband had their teriyaki beef(mini)… The taste was pretty standard. Good, but not amazing… We also tried their volcano fries… The taste was different… It’s basically fries smothered in a sauce that’s a little tangy, topped with chicken… Seemed like there wasn’t enough chicken. And the fries didn’t taste like they were made to order, even though we waited a while for it… The flavor itself was ok… I ordered a salad which also is pretty standard. The dressing it came with was pretty good though… The spam musubi was also pretty standard… Overall, we wanted to try this place bc of its good reviews and to support local businesses… This place is good if you’re in the area craving some Hawaiian food and don’t want to travel to far… Again, we didn’t try any of their drinks, which is a big part of their business.

The potential is there… I’ve been looking for a good Hawaiian spot down south and Tastea is just a few miles away. After looking at the pictures, I knew I had to give it a shot without reading other Unilocaler reviews. What we ordered: — Combination Teriyaki chicken and Katsu chicken The Teriyaki chicken was good! Grill marks, smoke flavor and enough Teriyaki glaze. I would get this again. But the katsu chicken was just the breaded chicken. We ordered to go so the server may have forgotten to give us the sauce for it. Totally dry without the katsu sauce. — Buffalo Fries This was ok. Seems to be the new thing now even with taco shops. Nothing to really rave about. — Volcano Fries This was interesting. The flavors are pretty mixed and I really enjoyed these. I probably would’ve been satisfied with just a full order of Volcano Fries. — Spam Masubi It’s pretty hard to mess up Spam Masubi… so I thought. The masubi had so much rice vinegar that you can barely taste the spam. And that’s hard to do! Ease up on the rice vinegar and don’t use so much rice. And the garlic fries that came with the masubi’s… I didnt see or taste anything garlic about it except for the garlic salt. I was expecting actual garlic. Other than that, one thing I do have to mention is that their boba drinks are really good. Their boba balls are really soft and flavorful. Something many other boba shops do wrong.
