If I was just rating doctor Hassanein he would get 5 stars. My review is based on the office staff and how the office is managed. The first thing that really got me annoyed was me wasting my time driving from Escondido to the Chula Vista office for an appointment. Just to be told be the receptionist that they supposedly tried to call me to reschedule my mom’s appointment, which I know it wasn’t true. I never got a call from them and they seemed not to really care. The second thing was trying to get the new medication Dr. Hassanein prescribed to my mom. That took over an hour to figure out and the receptionist just sitting there talking and laughing while the waiting room is full of patients that looked tired of waiting to be called. Just to clarify again I have no issue with the Doctor my issue was with his staff mostly the receptionist. Which I’m sure are nice girls, but you can tell they are very unorganized and a bit immature by the way they act at work. I’ve been hear waiting over an hour to get my mom’s medications faxed to Rite Aid and also to try to reschedule a new appointment. Also the people next to me are also complaining how slow this office operates. Yet the receptionist are goofing around with each other and not once have they asked or tried to help any of the people waiting in the lobby.

Got onto new insurance, called Dr Hassanein’s office to make an appointment. Was set up for the next week, that seemed fast and efficient. Went to appointment which was 5p. There was an error on the patient calendar and I wasn’t on it. But the staff made calls while I filled out new patient paperwork(& then stayed late for me). I’d been assigned to a random Dr, they had to call insurance and get that changed, after 5p, some kind of minor miracle even to get them on the phone! I wasn’t done with my paperwork before they ushered me into an exam room. Finished them, Dr appeared soon after. We went through my history, I had previous Rx records with me, and I was done and out in less than 30 minutes! with prescriptions written and referalls to 2 specialists. While I was there, I watched the front desk staff deal with 2 rude and loud patients. These are probably the ones who insist everyone else in the world is ‘whack a doodle’. No matter the level of agression, front desk handled with politely and with patience, it is amazing to me what people demand and expect of others that they are not willing to be or do themselves. It is not all about you people! This staff was caring and the Dr is board certified in 2 areas, a very quick and well done assessment for me. I hope all your 1star people have the intelligence and time to go through 8−10yrs of medical schooling and board certifying so that you can take care of things just the way you like them. Maybe if you showed a bit more respect?

Where do I begin, this place is unbelievable! The receptionist is as friendly as a rattlesnake. Most of the staff is incompetent, and quite often you are dumped on an even more incompetent nurse practioner. He promised to prescribe this and that, but would not give me a script, wtf??? insisted on calling it in to my pharmacy, all of which is over the counter medications, but my insurance does pay for it. Well, its been many weeks, I have called and left messages, I have yet to get my prescriptions called in. I even had my pharmacy faxed them, but they do not respond. This place is a joke. As others have said, its drive thru endoscopy. They line you up on wednesdays like cattle and in 60seconds or less they still a camera down your throat or you know where and before you know it, in less then a minture, you’re out of there, while Dr Hassanin is talking on his cell phone. God forbid he gives up a whole 60 seconds of his time. If you’re there for an office visit, you won’t be seen on time, they just scheduled a ton of people at the same time. Take 2 hours to be seen, and Dr hassanin didn’t even review my chart or do a physical exam. Do yourself a big favor and go somewhere else! Especially if you don’t like being rushed… Your life is worth it!!!

This was the worst experience I ever had with a doctor in my entire life. He was 1 hour and 45 minutes late for my appointment, and then during the rushed 5 minutes he spent with me, he told me to gain 5 lbs and drink more water. I had to see another doctor who diagnosed my issue that Dr. Hassanein missed completely. I contested my visit fee since the doctor had completely dismissed my health issue and missed the diagnosis, and was eventually successful. Now, 2.5 years later, I get a letter from a collection agency and have to pay the visit fee because Elsa, the billing person, did not keep proper notes regarding our discussion. Do not visit this doctor unless you like to wait around all day, have your concerns dismissed, be lied to by the equally incompetent staff, and then have it all come back to haunt you years later.

I came to Dr. Hassaneins office due to some stomach issues. My regular doctor had referred me to this office. I had a wonderful experience. The girl in the office was so delightful and efficient. She called me as soon as my doctor sent my information so that she could give me the soonest appointment. Dr. Hassanein is who I got to speak with and hes an awesome doctor, who really listens to what my concerns are and came up with a treatment plan right away.
