Great place if you’re looking for something unique and fun to do in San Diego. We are a beach town, however hidden spots are my forte! If you like to kayak or want to kayak, they have rentals available to the public Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Like less than $ 10 per hour with deposit.(Check the website for hours and rental fees). It’s pretty affordable and you have a great scenic view. There are fishing boats, fishing areas and picnic areas available for you to bring friends, family or even a date. I really like this spot when I want to get away from the overcrowded beaches.

This is a great place to walk around and enjoy nature. I do not fish so not familiar with how good the fishing is or how easy it is to rent a boat. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and there were not many people around. I did not realize how close this place was to Eastlake. I have seen it many times from the air flying into town. There is a lot of parking, some benches, and several bathrooms. If your looking for quiet, this is a nice place to go.

I go here for fishing in my kayak. Costs 8 bucks for a fishing permit for the day. 2 bucks for the kayak use on the lake. You need some skills to get fish on this lake and it is a learning curve. It also gets real windy at times and in a kayak you will need an anchor. If you know what you are doing you can actually catch some fish. If not good luck to you. You will need it.

The kayak was super clean and in great condition. The guy that helped us was so nice! Well definitely be back. I had no idea this was right behind our house. Such a fun little hour on the lake!

the boats for rent are beat up and dirty, but they do float and the motors do run

If you are trying to commit a suicide this is the place to go. I don’t know where to start. Other than friendly staff there was absolutely no fish or even a nibble not even talking about bites at this lake, people fishing have not caught anything in days(so i know it was not the only lucky one), I wasted $ 40 for boat rental which is expensive considering the motorboat they give you does not exceed 10mph wasting more of your time plus the guy didn’t check the propeller for sea weeds and it was loads of crap in there. If you are coming to just look at the lake or just dump a body it’s good for that.

I’m here today while a private contractor is pulling from the bottom of the lake a SB2C-4 Helldiver Navy fighter plane. It crashed into the water back in 1945 and today there is more action going on here since that time. Come on out and witness a piece of WWII history before WWIII starts.
