I had the BBQ chicken kebab! It was good not bad was it worth what I pay for it not too sure. My only concern with this place was that only one out of four servers(all girls) had a hair net! All the ladies had long hair and dangling back and forth as they are serving the food. I find this really gross since April anytime their hair can go in the food. Will I come back maybe if I was super hungry!

Craving Filipino Breakfast or Bbq? This place is always satisfying. Running late to somewhere? Drop by here for any of their specials. $ 3.99 — $ 5.59 comes with Garlic fried rice, two eggs and your choice of meat. Beef Tapa, Longanisa, Tocino, Bangus or Spam. You can add Pork or Chicken bbq and Jeprocks. They also have Value Meals and tender and crispy Lechon. Going for a hike, picnic, beach or hitting the road? Try some of their dishes here. There may be a line but it moves along pretty fast. Long queues mean they’re doing something right!

With what I’ve tried — Not impressed whatsoever. I’ve ordered the pork barbecue skewer and chicken one and both times the meat was dry and chewy. And entrees do not look fresh. They look like they’ve been sitting there for awhile. The only thing I recommend is the chicken chicharron.

I love the food here thats what the two stars are for, but if u wanna know just in case what their service is, they are s l o w, slow, slow. Been here maybe a couple of times bc I like their food, compared to other places their food is better. My complain is I dont know how they can’t get their system together! One time I found one worker just washing dishes behind the counter while she was talking to a co-worker she didn’t even bother to ask me if I need anything. Other one was chopping the ‘lechon kawali’ but doesnt know how to use the weighing scale so she waited for help. At that time I left right away. I can only pin point a couple of ladies that can work together really well as I have noticed and observed them, they are faster, efficient and more attentive. But this old lady worker here who we think is their supervisor(likes to wear black sweater) for this place at East Orange– Grill City in Chula Vista, is super slow, talks slow, moves slow too and why cant she suggest or formulate a system that will speed up the order process, bc most of the time the line gets crazy! If possible, Can they have one person in the register at all times? And two people at least to give out our orders. Every time I come here the theme is always the same. The whole process, waiting in line, gets served and payment at the register could take up to 15 – 20 minutes or so. Service is so outdated. Forgive me but at least hire a supervisor that can actually oversee and communicate efficiently, it doesn’t matter if you are young or old. The food is good but no organization or no regard for better customer service/experience whatsoever which can go down to the failure of food business in the future, I think!

Love this place for Filipino food to go! My favorite is the grilled fish and the squid. They also serve fresh rice and the spicy vinegar with it. Yum!

The food was delicious! But me and my boyfriend was waiting to help. We were just standing there waiting for them to finish what they were doing. We made eye contacts but they didn’t say anything. Next thing you know another customer literally just came up and the employee acknowledge them. We turned around and went to Chow King instead.

The food is good here, but on-time catering delivery on Christmas day deserves NO star. I ordered and prepaid 40 pieces of bbq skewers(35 chicken and 5 pork) to be ready at 1p. Unfortunately, the order was not ready and I arrived at 115p. The lady said it will take 30 – 40 minutes more. It is now 245p and I finally got my my «order»(20 chicken and 20 pork). It was explained that the grill only holds 80 and over 300 bbq stick were ordered today. A sago drink was offered while I wait, but that is what I did not ordered. I encourage Management to be better prepared for the large volume of orders on this blessed day or stay closed. Increase staff and better ordering process are my suggestions. As much as I appreciate people working on this day, but I would not recommend on-time catering orders at this place.

I loooove the grilled pampano… my only complaint is the prices. Are you guys serious with the inihaw being that much for ONE piece? Ouch Also, I’m trying to give you money. Please be nice to your customers. Anyway… food is bomb tho :)

Terrible customer service. Prepaid for 40BBQ skewers last Wednesday for a Saturday party. Promised me pickup at noon and I showed up at 1 pm and they had no idea about my order. They told me someone«forgot to copy my order form.» They proceeded to scramble around and told to «wait» and«have a seat» but gave me no clue as to what was going on or how long the«wait» would be. Meanwhile, there’s a pile of skewers being sold to all the walkups. 40 minutes later some resurfaces with my order, plus a conciliatory extra 5 skewers in a effort to mitigate the pain of waiting. Clearly, they were cooking my BBQ in an undisclosed location in the back and simply managing chaos at that point. I respectfully explained that if they just grabbed 40 skewers from the front, that would have avoided my 40 minute wait and kept a customer moderately happy. What’s the point of coming days earlier and pre-paying?

I came to the food court to go to Chow King but I saw this place had laing and I love laing so I had to try it. I got the pork bbq on a stick combo. It came with rice and a side entrée of my choice(laing). One pork bbq stick was more than enough for me. It was kind of sweet but paired well with the vingar dipping sauce. The combo came with lots of rice too :). The laing was good. Very tasty. I like that they put lots of ginger in it. The service was friendly and fast. Plenty of food for $ 8.10. I’ll be back to try the grilled fish.

Grill City in Chula Vista is a fast food restaurant. You choose the food item you want to go or to eat at their venue. Each food item has the time posted when it was cooked, that’s one of the reason why I like this place. I loved their grilled stuffed milk fish($ 6.99) with rice and grilled stuffed eggplant for $ 3 each. They are so good and tasty. I must admit, this place is very clean. If you decide to go here, try their oven roasted pork«liempo».

So there’s this rumor that Chicago is going to get a Seafood City… I am totally excited about that because that means a Grill City will come along with that(I hope!) I can’t speak for all the items on their menu banner because when I’m in SC I only order the pork BBQ sticks. The aroma of roasted pork makes it difficult NOT to buy some skewers of pork to bring home – even if your fridge is full. I always take mine to go, but this is part of the food court so you can always eat in at one of the many tables set up. Their BBQ sticks are full of delicious marinated pork peices, grilled up to get a bit of nice char.(Drool!). They pork is sticky, a bit sweet, a bit salty… dip in some vinegar and eat with some hot rice… so damn tasty! There are other things on the menu like grilled chicken bbq, marinated/grilled fish. But the pork bbq is always what I want and never disappoints, so why change a good thing.

The prices are a little steep. But when you’re a little too lazy to drive to Titas Kitchen in National City, this spot will do. Try the $ 1.00 «street food» sticks. Pro tip: Bbq pork on a stick is delish.

not sure about all the low reviews but i’m giving them 4-stars for their pork bbq on a stick. my mom also likes their stuffed bangus fish(bangus filet stuffed with veggies). i buy the pork bbq sticks when i’m having guests and have no time to cook.

My previous review here was a bad experience! But today’s experience was better. The lady that helped us was sweet. We got a combo– pork bbq and kare kare with a side of sabao sinigang and extra bbq. Only sad thing is that the bbq is already cold! But still good food!

THANKS for the raw grilled squid! It is assuring to hear from one of their communication challenged workers say, «I don’t know if it’s cooked.» And not knowing what vegetable you’re serving shows how incompetent you are. Eggplant is still all right. #nocommonsense

I stood at the counter waiting to be greeted but no one acknowledged me. Eventually, a young lady asked if I was being helped and I said NO. She quickly asked for my order. I ordered the lunch plate that came with a meat, rice and choice of sabaw. I ordered the Grilled Pork Liempo and I was very disappointed with my dish. It was not a good grilled BBQ pork at all. The flavor was nasty and I love pork prepared in different ways. Unfortunately, I have mentioned it to friends of how disappointed I was and some agreed with me. They too did not like the dishes they ordered. With that said, I will give this place another try but this time the BBQ sticks only. With all the Filipino restaurants all over SD, I would not recommend this place to other helpers.

I really like their stuffed tilapia or bangus as well as the eggplant. Their bbq is ok — a little too sweet for my liking(Titas still has the best BBQ skewers). and the bibingka is always a good choice. But some of the other food items look dry and their sinigang was super oily — probably the oiliest I’ve had. Their portions aren’t that great. I prefer Jochi’s next door when ordering Filipino food. They have a catering menu which seems decently priced. You can also order family menus for $ 20 – 25.

Please don’t call me biased! I am doing this review not on the ambiance but on the grilled fanfare. I do love that everything is grilled; fish, chicken, port, and squid. I love the BBQ as well and don’t expect the traditional Filipino offering since as the name suggests — grill. Have fun and be adventurous and bring your cholesterol medication and all will be good!

Food was ok. I got chicken skewer for $ 2.50. Very tasty but it should’ve been bigger for that price. It was more like a teaser and it barely tickled my belly. My mom kept talking about the binalot and how she grew up on it when they didn’t have a microwave in the Philippines. I wanted one of the binalot breakfast(tapa or tocino) to try out but they didn’t have any at 10:15 am. Maybe they stopped serving at 10 a.m. They did have binalot with just(fried) rice and they added corned beef so I just settled for that. But I really wanted tapa or tocino. The fried rice was super greasy and I didn’t enjoy the food that much. If the tapa or tocino one is like that, I don’t want to try it. With so much selection, I will go back and try something else but until then, I’ll have to give this spot a below average score.
