Black Sheep BBQ

Wow!!! The owners are sweethearts for starters. Went out with a group last night to Novo Brazil for a birthday party and was kind of bummed to hear the only food truck was BBQ. Totally amazed by their food! Everyone had a bit of everything, I tasted the nachos and even though my friend got them without meat they were fantastic. Nice to see a place in San Diego that doesn’t put shredded cheese on them and put them under a heat lamp. I had the chicken sandwich. Wow! So tender and delicious. Also had the Mac and cheese which normally I would have to Doctor up with some salt n pepper, but it required absolutely nothing but a hungry stomach. The smoked corn was the best. Out of this world and everyone at the table raved about it. I’m so glad that this truck is around. The apricot BBQ sauce will knock your socks off!

By far, 100%, the BEST BBQ I’ve had since I moved from the Midwest to San Diego! We tried the pulled pork and brisket. Can’t wait to try the ribs! The sauces are amazing, also. Full of flavor. All of the sides go perfectly with the meat — but they are so good they can stand on their own. I’ll be a regular customer for sure!

One of the best bbq trucks I have ever eaten at. Pulled pork is to die for! Make sure you pick up their Mac-​n-​cheese as well.

Stopped by the Second Chance Brewery for a beer. Saw the food truck and gave it a try. Black Sheep BBQ produced the best chicken nachos I have ever had, and I have had a lot!!! The nachos were fresh, very tasty, and a large portion. Highly recommended!!!

This place is awesome and they will not let you down on your food. You won’t be disappointed spend every penny.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes: Soft yet firm, perfectly spiced. awesome.

Had this amazing little truck stop by Aztec Brewing 1÷9÷16 during a friends party. I saw they were going to be there 2 days prior and was excited from the start. They did not disappoint. Awesome people, awesome food, just made me so damn happy to eat.

This is one of the best food trucks not just for BBQ but for food period. I was able to sample some of Black Sheep’s BBQ at the Del Mar fair grounds and then again at BNS brewery in Santee. This was the best bbq I’ve ever had. I am from Texas and BBQ flavors are different there vs. here in Socal. Eric the owner does BBQ justice and sets himself apart from the rest of the bbq joints out there.
Most places have bbq that isn’t really smoked or they use wood chips then just douse their food with bbq sauce. That isn’t the way to do it. The traditional way to bbq in Texas is to smoke the meat with real wood and let the meat do the talking. You shouldn’t ever have to cover your bbq meat with any sauce if it truly is a good quality and smoked correctly (which BlackSheep does). I mean this guy’s slogan is «While you were sleeping we were smoking!»
He smokes his meats for 12 – 20 hours and the end product is of the highest caliber.
I sampled the brisket and boy did every bite have so much flavor. It was an excellent quality cut of meat that he gets from his own butcher that isn’t covered in fat like other places. The outside of the meat has a great smoky flavor with spices that just leave you craving more.
I also had the pulled pork nachos which are in a league of their own. Think of a time when you had plain nachos that were delicious… then multiply that x10 and you get what Eric is putting out. Those nachos had everything and every bite was a little piece of heaven that leaves you doing the happy dance. My wife and I shared those and could not finish them!
The side dishes are equally as good. You have to try the beans.
Every bite was bursting with flavor. My 1 year old daughter who is picky about her food loved them so much that when I took them away she screamed in protest.
If you are a foodie like I am then this is a great food truck to follow. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

After eating this BBQ I walked over and slapped my mama. It’s that good!
It should come with a warning cause it’ll give you BBQ amnesia: You’ll forget anything you’ve ever had before and nothing will EVER compare. Take it in, tell your family, friends, and monkey’s uncle. Shout it from the roof tops! Texas BBQ is invading San Diego to show everyone how it’s really done. So sit down, grab a beer, put on your bibs, and get your hands and face dirty. Don’t forget to bring your mama to slap around too…

Everything we have eaten has been absolutely awesome! Pulled pork sandwich, pulled pork nachos, & pulled pork fries are all delicious. Just the right spices & texture. Just tried the ribs an there are no words to describe how flavorful they are! Eric & Sarah know their BBQ! We are from Texas & do not take our BBQ lightly.

Best food truck that I’ve had tried ever! I tried the dirty nachos the first time, pulled pork so tender and very well seasoned. They gave us samplers and even after giving us our order they gave me another sampler of their sriracha wings! l the owners are such nice couple, friendly and they cook everything themselves! We will for sure coming back soon! Bag of bones, delicious!!!

Eric and his beautiful family came by Coronado brewing the other day. Their bbq is the best I’ve ever had. I hope they come back.

I always stop by on Friday Nights when they are setup outside of Novo Brazil Brewery. Along with the delicious pulled pork sandwiches and crisp and tangy coleslaw, the customer service is outstanding and just makes me want to become a Blacksheep BBQ stalker!

This was great family owned BBQ food truck that was parked outside of Modern Times while we were inside tasting different brews.
It smelled so good from inside the bar and we began craving their food, so we wandered outside to check it out. The portions were large and the prices were good, too. I ordered the BBQ pork nachos ($ 10) and they were great. We brought them back into the bar and it complemented our beer selection as nachos always do.
They also had different sauces, one titled «Danger», which my friends who love hot sauces, totally raved about afterwards.
Also on their menu were gigantic ribs which came with sides like potato salad. Two of my friends ordered this. Needless to say, we were all very satisfied with our orders and happy to have had the Black Sheep BBQ truck at our service lol!

So not only is the BBQ the bomb but the customer service is amazing. I went early to order and pay but asked if I could pick my plates up a little later (I heard they sell out fast) because I needed to stop by target… well I had the wrong information about what time they close and showed up 30 min after the truck left. however the owners wife stayed behind and waited for me to pick up my plates! Thank you black sheep BBQ for that

Phenomenal BBQ! I had the pleasure of eating the pork ribs and the pulled pork and they are the best I ever had in San Diego. Smoked ribs that were moist and tender. The sides were great as well. My favorite was the garlic potato salad :) I will be a regular for sure. It was so good I took a plate to go home with.
They were posted up front in their truck outside of the Nova Brazilian Brewery. What’s better with bbq than with a great brewski?! Highly recommend.
