I live really close from this place, and i eat often here. The california burrito is the best one i have ever tried, and believe me, i have tried a lot of burritos at other taco shops, i order my burrito with guac and no pico. The carne asada torta and carne asada chips are really good too, those three are the must have at this place.

Cash only but they have an atm available on drive thru before the cashier window!!! I have never seen this before! That is craziest thing ever! Extra $ 3 if you have card. Order Carne Asada fries which cost $ 10.99 plus tax. Whole lot of fries but not enough meat. That is most expensive fries I ever had expected more I guess. Dont recommend this place for there BS cash only policy and ATM charges and average food.

I used to live a couple blocks away from this location. So I’ve been here several times. The food is OK, not great. The one good thing about it is it is open 24 hours a day. But the staff are kind of rude every time I go in. And the worst thing of all… Is it is CASHONLY! They have an ATM inside now that charges you a few dollars to use it! Since when does a place like this do cash only? To me it says(1 we are cheap and 2) we don’t care about the customer. The owners of the place also own the entire complex from when I understand. You lose so many customers by not accepting plastic. Are you telling me you can’t just pass on the .50 cents in charges you to your customer? Talk about the lack of convenience for the customer. I only come here as a last resort. And to top it off… their other location near Market and Euclid does take credit card. Go figure.

This place used to be good I don’t know what happened. Not only did the prices go up again but the workers are beyond rude. The idiots that are cooking the food also suck ass. I ordered a California burrito with guac and no pico. I take my burrito out of the bag and in clear red writing it says NOPICO. Ok that’s my burrito first bite no guac just tortilla and a french fry. Second bite all tortilla, onion, and cilantro WTF don’t they know what pico is? And they didn’t even put guacamole that they charged 2 bucks for. This place sucks ass and will never go here again

The food really varies by who is cooking it. I have ordered rolled tacos before that have been filled expertly with the meat, easily chewed, topped with sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and guacamole; then I have received some that are lacking meat, mostly a over fried shell with minimal lettuce, tomato, sour cream and no guacamole. It has the advantage of being the closest 24 hours drive thru Mexican restaurant by the Sleep train Amphitheater. Food is overpriced. They don’t credit or debit cards, instead they have an ATM machine that you can hit up while you are going through that costs money to use. Their best item I have found to enjoy is their bean and cheese burritos. Always tasty.

Not a fan at all. My simple order of roll tacos were plain out nasty. Tasted like oil. Their rice and beans weren’t bad… idk maybe I tried the wrong thing

After reading the reviews I was a little hesitant, but they were the only place open late night so I decided to try it. The rolled tacos were amazing, a lot of lettuce, guacamole, and cheese, I ordered a side of pico de gallo and it was perfectttttt!!! I also ordered the carne asada fries without sour cream, it was good but a little overpriced. I will definitely come back for the rolled tacos.

The prices are a little steep for a taco shop, but they have the upper hand being the only drive thru taco joint in the area. Be sure to double and triple check your orders in the bag before you leave. We’ve been shorted items before. One time they wouldn’t even hear us out and give us the quesadilla they failed to put in the bag/order, even though we just came back from one light away. The rolled tacos have the dressing(cream, lettuce etc.) on the side. Kinda miss having the cheese melted into the taquitos. Carne Asada burritos are a smidge pricey, but they are a decent size. Try the beef tacos or the surf and turf. The chipotle sauce is good too. Pro-Tips: Buy your soda at 7 – 11 and grab some cash there bcuz 1) Asada is CASHONLY2) They charge too much for a can of soda.

Only one star. this place don’t deserve more. Food sucks and overpriced. Don’t know how they are still in business… Customer service at the counter or drive thru was terrible… cold food and the Carne asada tasted like being cooked a day before… kind of boiled instead of … grilled . Don’t recommend. Save ur money and drive a few blocks north…

Being a San Diego native means you know all the local. Ugh hemmm. Great local taco shops. When we move into a new neighborhood that is exactly what I search for first. Adadas is very close but the food is mediocre. The first thing I ate there was a carne asada burrito. It made me sick. It took me almost 6 months to try their food again. It’s okay. Nothing to rave about. But if you are craving Mexican food and are in the area it’ll do. They do not take debit or credit cards, cash only. But they do have an ATM machine in the drive through in case you want to spend a few extra dollars to pull out cash. Asadas isn’t my first choice but in a pinch it’s okay. The carne adada tacos, pork tacos and carne asada fries are good.

An order of carne asada nachos cost over $ 13. Too much money to be charging from a taco shop that takes cash only. They recently added pancakes to the menu. Unsure if they have breakfast hour restrictions on them but 3 pancakes for $ 5. I haven’t tried them since I feel that is also extremely overpriced. Prices here at Asada’s are jumping too high and its causing my Unilocal score to drop.

Oh, why did I not read the Unilocal reviews, prior to eating at Asada Taco Shop?!! After rushing to buy dog food before the Pet store closed, I came to Asada Taco Shop for a late dinner to eat when I got home. I drove through the Drive Thru and ordered 5 rolled tacos with lettuce, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. This is a Cash Only establishment. Luckily, I had enough cash. Oddly enough, they had an ATM located just before the Drive Thru window. Personally, I wouldn’t trust that machine because it just looked shady, standing in the dark like that. Ravenous, I ripped the plastic bag as soon as I reached home to get to my rolled tacos. When I opened up the styrofoam container though, I wasn’t so hungry anymore. The cheese was either not fresh or it was of poor quality. You could just tell by the way it melted into a thin, bright orange sheet on top of the rolled tacos. The guacamole looked SCARY too, as it was a little brownish and watery. I didn’t dare put any on top of the rolled tacos, just in case. Although I usually drench my Mexican food with salsa, theirs was watery and had no flavor. I think they may have just mixed red dye with water and black pepper because that’s what it tasted like, in my opinion. I ended up eating only 2 of the 5 rolled tacos and discarded the rest. I’m willing to bet I’ll get sick before the night is over, even from only eating 2 of them. Yuck. Oh, yea, and be careful of the sharp turn exiting the Drive Thru or you’ll run over a curb. I won’t need to remember that though because I’ll never be coming back.

Forced the boo to go shopping with me and I didn’t even buy a thing. After boring him to near death he was hungry. We happened to cruise by his old hood and he decided to re-live past memories of what used to be his go to taco shop. Warning…cash only :(. We got the Carne Asada Fries because we’re both too cool for cash and we couldn’t afford to get our own burritos with the little cash we were carrying. Meh. To the untrained palette this might seem like good carne asada fries and I suppose when you’re in a bind and this is your closest taco shop, you can do nothing more than to settle for what they offer. They have a salsa bar. It’s always appreciated to be able to get as much salsa as your little heart desires, however none of them were all that great. What I did like was that you could also grab lemon. I love lemon on my carne asada fries and I always get the dirty look from the cashier when I order a side of lemon. Didn’t have to go through that whole ordeal here. In conclusion, nothing particularly bad going on here but nothing especially good either. If you’re in this hood one day hungry and happen to have a spare 20 by all means hit them up.

Not my first pick, BUT, they’re Open 24hrs… Good for those late night Mexican food cravings. Their food is decent and fairly priced… The fish burrito is pretty good. I eat it, and I don’t even like seafood… Large servings. Good tortilla. The Pollo is okay, it’s heavy on the marinade though(see pic). CASHONLY.

Dined January 2013 I’m sorry my experience here was not good. Yes the portions are very large — but that doesn’t make it taste good. Have a friend who lives nearby and she loves. To each their own. This diner didn’t enjoy the mass amount of unseasoned carnitas in a burrito. The plus side is I took the meat home and fixed it into several other tasty tacos for my girls with lots of re-working.
