Excellent! Staff was friendly. I was there during the lunch rush and had my food in under 5 minutes. Pork plate was fantastic! Very nice outdoor seating. If I’m in the area again I will definitely stop in again! Keep up the good work.

The Havana Café was recommended by a couple locals, but we were a bit disappointed. It was fine, but nothing special. It has a neat patio, but the service was a bit wanting, and the food was only average. It seemed like just rice and meat, both of medium quality. Sauces were pretty bland.

My husband and I stumbled upon this little spot on our trip. Unfortunately they were not prepared for the crowd. Very busy and I think it was unexpected therefore they were a bit unorganized. However, we were not in a hurry, the beer was cold and the wait was sooooo worth it. We had a sassy waitress with quick wit and smart a** attitude. The food!!! AMAZING. My husband had the pork sandwich. So much flavor, full of citrus and garlic. I had the grilled shrimp plate with black beans and rice. Hands down the best black beans I have ever had. Shrimp was fresh and cooked perfectly. If you have a sense of humor and patience, I recommend you stop in. The food is well worth the wait.

I can’t wait to return to this Cuban oasis in the Everglades. The Scallops were cooked perfectly! The foods flavors were fresh and it is by far one of the top 5 meals I’ve ever had! I have traveled a lot and eaten in many amazing places!

Before I mention anything else I have to say: You must try the oysters! Even if you think you don’t like oysters, get one. The house sauce they put on them is amazing and the local oysters are the perfect texture and flavor themselves. Even my date, who says he hates oysters, really enjoyed them. We came here along with our guide from Captain Steve’s Swamp Buggy Tour and had a wonderful lunch. The restaurant is cute, the service is good and the menu reasonably priced. After you’ve had your oysters, here are the other things you must have: Beans and rice Medianoche sandwich Fried Platanos I’m sure everything on the menu is fantastic though.

Great place, wonderful atmosphere. I visited this place for coffee and dessert while on vacation and was pleasantly surprised. The tiramisu was exceptional as was the differ.

we stopped at the visitor center for everglade national park in everglade city and booked a boat tour. The person at the center suggested the Havana Café for a quick lunch. It is a charming restaurant with a great food selection at a reasonable price. If it hadn’t been raining we would have dined on the inviting patio. So happy we were pointed in that direction instead of back to Everglade City. Arrived for out boat tour with time to spare. Lovely restaurant, way better than traditional tourist fare.

I ordered a Cuban sandwich to-go, even though it was not a «real» Cuban it was still tasty. Had some nice tangy mustard on it and the bread was more like a French baguette but nice and soft. I also had breakfast at Havana Café, SOOGOOD! Best breakfast I have had in awhile. I had the refried beans with fried eggs, onions and green papers, it came with tortillas. The meal was so good I actually preferred it without the tortillas. The eggs were perfectly fried and the onions and peppers were perfectly greasy. The chorizo and egg sandwich was also tasty, it was served on the same soft bread as the Cuban. I wanted to go back to Havana for a 3rd visit but ran out of time, I will definitely visit Havana Café on my next visit to the Everglades!

Came across the reviews on Unilocal and decided to stop on I’m off the beaten path and so glad we did! The Cuban was delicious with the homemade hot sauce to die for. The pork platter had a lot of flavor and the sweet plantains were amazing! I’ll be back with coworkers soon!

This would have gotten a(5) star for the food. But the servers were nasty and unprofessional. The owner was a sweetheart and needs to address the servers the food is excellent and I have recommended this place to many people who have come back with the same comments about the servers. Hope they address the issue.

The food was outstanding as was the ambiance. I would have given then 5 stars but I felt like the service could use some work. Strongly recommend the mahi mahi blackened sandwich.

Excellent food and the owner and/or chef was very friendly. I was staying in the Glade Haven Cozy Cabins and they advised stopping by here for lunch so I did.

We had two dinners at this quaint Cuban restaurant… sitting outdoors on the patio with great music and good wifi was enjoyable. The Caribbean seafood special was excellent but the star of the show was the Kurobuta pork chop… Kurobuta is to pork as Kobe is to beef… tender and juicy.

We came here because we’d been in the Naples area for a week and hadn’t sampled the stone crab claws, and because our Everglades National Park boat captain recommended it. Havana Café is the quintessential Everglades eatery. .. über casual, ample outdoor seating, friendly waitstaff, cold beer and great food. We came for the stone crabs and stayed with that theme, although the rest of the menu looked inviting. Not being a frequent visitor to South Florida, I can’t vouch for the authenticity of the Cuban fare, so I’ll defer to other reviewers for that. I had the half pound of claws with a side salad. She had the stone crab enchalado(I think is how they spelled it), which was claws and mussels with rice in a spicy red salsa. Washed down with a couple ice cold Yuenglings, it was a great lunch. The lunches, beer and gratuity rocked us about $ 60. I didn’t think that was too bad, considering the claws were«market» at twenty bucks a half pound. And we weren’t leaving Chokoloskee without tasting those claws! Thanks for the tip, Cap’n Jeff!

We visited Havana Café last weekend for my birthday. I expected to find more authentic Cuban items on the menu like croquetas and batidos. The food was average. Frank enjoyed his PANCONBISTEC. I had the MAHIMAHISANDWICH which was okay. Analis had the CUBANGRILLEDCHEESE. The Cuban bread was good. The FROZENCAFECONLECHE was delicious. My biggest disappointment was the service. Our waitress just didn’t cut it. We asked her about shakes and she said they had none but the Cuban waiter served a mango shake to another table. When Frank saw another table being served a shake he actually went up to them and asked them what they had ordered. I also asked for my mahi mahi sandwich to just be with lettuce and tomato and it arrived with roasted vegetables. I don’t want to be difficult, but I just can’t give them any better than an OK. I would like to try them again upon my return to the area and maybe sit with the Cuban guy. We could hear him being social with his tables and maybe that is what was lacking from our experience. The place is adorable. We sat outside in the cement tables. The bougainvilleas were blooming beautifully and their little papaya tree was actually growing papayas. Enjoy!

The food is always wonderful, but the people are even better. Everyone is so accommodating and friendly, it’s worth the extra drive if you’re around Fakahatchee or Big Cypress, and if you’re already in Chokoloskee you won’t find anywhere better! I usually get the veggie platter, which is so simple but so good! And their coffee is amazing, especially if you’ve got a long drive ahead of you.

My friend and I were fortunate enough to stumble upon this wonderful little ma & pa restaurant by accident when we were making our way through the Everglades. We were hungry and thirsty, so we parked and went in. We sat on the patio, which was quite charming. Our server was helpful and prompt, she brought us ice cold beers, chips and salsa while we looked over the menu. I was happy to find something vegetarian — sauteed veggies with beans and rice. It came with plantains, which I had never had before. I enjoyed them so much that when I returned home I bought a couple and looked up recipes to make my own. I am now an addict, but they still don’t taste quite as good as the ones I was served at Havana Café. If ever I find myself in the area of Southern Florida I will definitely make it a point to go here for lunch again. It was delicious!
