Wedgewood at the Vellano Country Club

First and foremost, it needs to be said that we truly enjoyed the wedding of our dreams — and it was ALL thanks to the Vellano. I can honestly say that our wedding was better than I could have ever dreamed of! That’s the honest to goodness truth.
Now, I think every bride walks away with a few high-​lights and low-​lights of their wedding — here are a few notes from mine :)
Venue: Wow! WOW! WOW!!! We must have visited the venue 10 times while we were planning our wedding — maybe it was the «Wedding Goggles», but I thought the Vellano was absolutely STUNNING at that perfect 6:00 pm hour. They timed it out perfectly and the recent renovations really made the venue shine! Well done Vellano!
Food: EVERYONE was extremely complimentary of the food and even went as far as to say that it was «the best food at a wedding they’d ever had!» YES!!! We chose the buffet option, as opposed to the served-​plate option. I think the buffet even lent to a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere, as opposed to a stuffy served-​plate option; but that’s my humble opinion. It worked for us and the sort of atmosphere we wanted for our wedding.
Vendors:
— Bakery — ‘Some Crust Bakery’ was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE from beginning to end!!! WOW! I have never seen or tasted a more beautiful cake! We went to our appointment and I showed her a picture of my «dream» wedding cake and she simply smiled and said «DONE. What color?» No if’s, and’s, or but’s — just DONE. They were extremely accommodating, reliable, and professional. WOW!!!
— DJ — JC Entertainment was ABSOLUTELY the BEST!!! They were an absolute pleasure to work with! Very professional, reliable, and they played everything that was on our wish-​list and everything that SHOULD have been on our wish-​list! We were running a little behind on our itinerary (my hair stylist’s fault — BOOO!), but the DJ was on top of it and ready to go with the flow! We were in great hands!
— Florist — Floral Sensations was the WORST part of my wedding planning experience. Wedgewood promises to be the «One-​Stop-​Shop» for all of your wedding planning needs. For most of the vendors they work with — yes, this is absolutely true! However, Floral Sensations made us feel like the «shop» only had outdated, small, and basic options included in our package (BUT for an additional $$$$$$ fee, yes they can deliver!). Robert was very kind and a sweet-​heart during our appointment, but it was ABSOLUTELY PAINFUL to be nickle-​and-​dimed after you spent nearly $ 25k+ for the «one-​stop-​shop» wedding experience. PLEASE NOTE: when they say «Ceremonial Flowers» are included in your package, they ONLY mean 3 small flower balls on the gazebo. This does not include a decorated aisle, bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquet, or groomsmen boutonnieres that you only use during the CEREMONY– no, it means 3 small flower balls. And the center pieces that are «included» in the packages are small, old-​fashioned, and basic to say the very least. I even showed my friends and family the options that were included in our package (I reaaalllyyy wanted to find one that was included in the package, especially since we had already spent so much $$$), and they all laughed and agreed that there were no good options. It was absolutely PAINFUL to have walked out of the appointment with a nearly $ 2,000 quote in addition to what we had already paid for in our package! They were not accommodating at all! For example: If I wanted to switch the flowers or a minor vase accent from ‘Package A’ to ‘Package B’, something inconsequential that wouldn’t have cost them anything, they charged $ 35 EXTRA PER TABLE. At the end of the day, I would still have a small basic center piece, but it would have cost us $ 525 EXTRA for a minor change… We ended up using Let’s Party Entertainment in Chino Hills (less than 10 min from the venue) and we saved almost $ 1000 from the Floral Sensations quote. I’m certain that Floral Sensations does a great job, but we were at the end of our budget, and we were under the impression that the flowers were all set — we did NOT expect to walk out with a $ 2,000 quote for SMALL basic flowers.
— Hotel — Ayres Hotel was wonderful. Future brides, please do yourself a favor and upgrade to the suite. Especially if you’re getting ready at the hotel — you’ll be grateful you did. Promise.
— Invitations — Were … okkkaayyy… a little outdated for my taste. We decided to use Shutterfly instead, and we actually saved a bit of money in doing so.
All in all — I am absolutely thrilled to have had our wedding at the Vellano. It was the BEST day of my life. I really appreciated all of the extra touches they did to make sure that everything went as smooth and special as possible. Thank you Vellano!

This venue was THE BEST. We shopped around and we fell in love with this one. It’s beautiful, the customer service is great and the owners are wonderful. They help me out so much. Accommodated all I wanted and no extra fees. And the food was delicious. I will definitely be using them again and recommending them too.

Marisa, Candice, Whitney, and Jennifer are awesome ladies. They took such good care of us on our day and before that it was so easy to just relax and enjoy the day of. Thank you ladies for making sure our wedding went off without a hitch.

Held our Wedding at Chino Hills Wedgewood Venue 4÷1÷16. Words cannot express my gratitude to everyone there. The price was a worry for us but this place is exceptionally transparent about pricing and no one can beat it. They were so helpful, especially for us because we were swamped with work the entire 7 months we had to plan the wedding. Now the most important thing in retrospect, it was BEAUTIFUL. Our guests were floored by the venue and the food was delicious.

Venue and service at the time of event was great. Main server and staff at that time was great. Robert the florist set up everything very nice. Jon the dj made the night really great. Only thing I would change is john with John W Photography in Riverside. He took over two weeks to return call to set up meeting time. He didn’t care that he called that late to respond back. You are better off hiring a different person. I went with a local person and got better service with more time spent with us and more things in our package. Would of paid a lot more with John and this photographer has shot there before. If interested in getting a great photographer let me know. You can go to his studio and see his work.

I had a company awards banquet here at Wedgewood and it was beautiful, Whitney & Marissa were amazing to work with.
We went with their suggested vendors:
*DJ– JC Entertainment– HE WAS AMAZING! Great selection of music.
*Floral– Floral Sensations– issue– when I arrived to the venue to set up our awards I noticed that our centerpieces were missing some pieces to it, thanks to the Vellano staff, that was taken care of quickly. I also paid an extra 400+ dollars for upgraded sashes with bling «holders» and the within 15 minutes into our event half of them had popped off and were hanging from one end on the sash or laying on the floor, the chair sashes looked horrible undone and dropped the beauty of the venue down a couple of notches because of how messy that made it look.
Service during the event from the banquet crew was the best! Our captain was amazing, thank you all. :)

We had our wedding reception here two Saturdays ago.
Venue: Like the rest of the reviews say, the venue is absolutely beautiful. You can’t go wrong with a venue on top of the hill surrounded by beautiful mansions.
Food: The food was good. Most of our guests loved the food. We chose filet mignon and salmon with lemon dill sauce. For appetizers, we chose the mini egg rolls, mini crab cakes (delicious), scallops wrapped in bacon, tomato basil bruschetta, ahi wontons and shrimp cocktail shooters (came in tiny glasses but hard to eat cuz it has a high possibility of spilling). The alcohol was a little watered down.
Vendors: We already had vendors before signing our contract with Vellano so there were some restrictions. We couldn’t take pictures beyond the country club grounds because the golf course only allows their photographers and videographers to film on their course.
Some crust is amazing. Our guests loved all their cake flavors: red velvet, raspberry and black and white raspberry ganache.
We went with their day of coordinator because Vellano won’t help you set up if you have someone else coordinating. All the reviews say the coordinators made their day stress free but ours was NOT STRESS-​FREE. My husband and I were stressed out the entire reception because she didn’t tell our bridal party to get food during cocktail hour and left them hanging in the bridal room. When I complained in the office, I was told they don’t serve the bridal party food. Then our timeline was screwed up so we had to keep going with the flow. They did try to make up for it so that was appreciated.
Overall, despite of the stress, I’m happy we chose Vellano as our reception venue.

Wedgewood was amazing, and made our special day even that more special. The staff was always there to answer questions, and the day went seamlessly! THANK YOU so much to your staff for making our wedding day absolutely amazing! I HIGHLY recommend using their vendors, as they were just as amazing. A big shout out to John W Photography, for giving us everything we asked for and more, you guys are AWESOME!

This venue was PERFECT for my wedding in October 2015. It was everything a girl could dream of, the views, the reception area, the food and cake! I love that they have packages to make it easy to plan the best day of your life. Everyone is so helpful, but I especially want to thank Alexa for making it beyond amazing! I highly recommend this place!

Our wedding day was PERFECT!!! And it’s because of the team at Wedgewood at the Vellano! Every single person we worked with made us feel super important and the day went off so well because of their attentiveness and organization. Jennifer, Whitney, Marissa and all of the other girls were just phenomenal!!!
From the moment we walked into the venue and had our first meeting, I felt the professionalism and experience that is needed to ensure a perfect day. I absolutely LOVED the vendors we worked with and their quality of service was another reflection of Wedgewood at Vellano. From the super personable and down to earth girls with Shy Heart Photography (Lauren and Brianna) to one of the most experienced and loving florists with Events by Floral Sensations (Robert…thank you for all you did!), we really couldn’t have asked for better people to work with. The cake from Some Crust Bakery was delicious too.
The wedding coordination is a must! I am so happy we added that to our package. I didn’t need to worry about a thing on the day of and the girls just did such an amazing job, I am beyond appreciative on how they treated us and our friends/​family.
I also must mention Samm, the banquet captain who catered to me and my husband during the reception. The attention we received was so great, we are seriously beyond happy with the level of service we received throughout the planning process and on the actual day of our wedding. THANK YOU SO MUCH Wedgewood! I will forever remember our wedding day as being perfect!!!

We had our wedding here on April 24, and there are not enough words to say how incredibly happy we were that we choose to have our wedding here.
First off, the venue itself is beautiful. Vellano has a Tuscan style appeal to it, with the surrounding homes that accent this amazing beauty. The area is private, so no fear of random people crashing the wedding.
Mind you, my husband has been to two other weddings here, prior to ours so he was a little familiar with this venue. We had seen other Wedgewood locations, with this being the final search. From the first Wedgwood venue, we knew we wanted to stick with Wedgwood properties. For the wedding we wanted, the price packages were phenomenal. We had the Emerald Package and my husband was certain he wanted buffet because of the variety of food they offered to include a Prime Rib Carving station.
Having the package deal ended making this entire experience very calming and stress free. I didn’t have to worry about finding different vendors, having several deposits readily available, or even worry about having a coordinator since that was already included in my package.
We worked with Whitney from our first meeting until we said I Do.
WHy you should consider Vellano/​Wedgwood
— Communication is A+++++++++. As a bride, I found that communication was very important. Emails were responded within 4 hours or at least by the next business day. All questions were answered, they helped calm me when I was worried about certain items and they always assured me. I even had changed my mind on things several times and they were always willing to work with me.
— Gorgeous venue — Tuscan style appeal is my favorite. Great picture opportunities, Especially the bridge at the 14^th hole. This is a MUST.
— Price — for what we wanted, and yes we looked outside of Wedgewood, this was definitely the best price.
— One stop shop, they have all the vendors you need, and do an amazing job.
Food — Everyone loved the appetizers and the food
Baker — Some Crust — did an amazing job and it was the most Moist wedding cake I’ve ever had the and cake itself was divine.
Florist — Floral sensations — Robert is incredible. He worked with us and though I didn’t have anything specifically, he made it incredible
DJ — The best. Played the songs I wanted, always kept us informed and had the party going.
There have other vendors for other items, but we found many of our own.
The only downside, you don’t get to taste their food/​appetizers before the wedding. but honestly, we had no complaints.
They definitely want to make your wedding day memorable, stress free, and beautiful.

I have many positive words to say about Vellano. This venue made my wedding day so memorable with all the amenities and the specific package my husband and I picked. My family and friends had so much fun on our special day. We thank you also for depicting our same day slideshow that our photographer provided into our time schedule. We both give you at Vellano our heartfelt gratitude for having an astounding venue for our wedding reception.

The coordinators were wonderful and very pleasant! Made sure we had everything we needed and then some. Would totally recommend this beautiful venue! The clubhouse grill located here is wonderfully accommodating bc everyone can get a drink and appetizers as they are waiting for rehearsal or everyone to arrive.
I do not however recommend their vendor JC Entertainment. He denied guests and bridal party song requests and even the MC program and intro requests! Stated that he has what he needs from the bride and groom — I am sure the bride and groom didn’t tell you to deny everyone’s requests! Rude.

My husband and I just got married at this venue this past Saturday. This venue and the staff surpassed every single expectation I placed on our wedding. We had the most amazing, seamless, and memorable time. We used all of the vendors that Vellano has to offer and they were all amazing! Samantha our banquet captain and Marissa our coordinator were two of the nicest girls I have ever met. Completely professional and completely accommodating. We were nervous about the food because they don’t do taste testing, but be assured, it is delicious! Our guests raved about it the entire night. Best day of our lives and best decision we ever made!

We are thankful we had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Vellano Country Club in Chino Hills with Wedgewood banquets. At first we found it odd every time you emailed or phoned in it was someone different you had to deal with: but trust the process and trust the people here as they will make your wedding prep and the day it comes just something perfect out of a story book. we got married in late October and the weather was just perfection. We will probably come
back on the day of our anniversary to sit atop the terrace and look out the view and gaze and be thankful it all went perfect that day and the days leading up to it. Thank you Wedgewood, Vellano and staff. Kirk & Lynn.

My husband and I visited most of the wedgewood locations and fell in love with the vellano in chino hills. We did have a church wedding so we did not use their officiant or ceremony options. When we first started we had rose as a coordinator but I wasn’t a big fan of hers she cut everything short and really didn’t seem interested on what i wanted we asked for a new coordinator and so they gave us Whitney. Let me just say she was God sent. She went over and beyond and met my expectations. We decided to pick the crystal package and just add to our package.
The only vendors we used that they recommended were SOME CRUST BAKERY, JC ENTERTAINMENT, FLORAL SENSATIONS.
Some crust bakery is located in Claremont they asked me to take my invitation and pictures of what I wanted. Because we had a guest list of 200 we would have a four layer cake. We ended up picking four different flavors which where pound cake, chocolate, red velvet and carrot cake all were DELICIOUS!
JC our Dj was awesome he sends you a questionnaire asking everything from entrance dance to father dance etc. the day of the wedding he did listen to our guest on what they wanted to dance he was a big hit.
Floral sensations was in riverside he showed me what our package included and what would be an upgrade I did want to stay in budget and he helped me pick the perfect flowers and centerpieces I do have a very big Mexican family and they are used to taking centerpieces. so we picked centerpieces that your able to take instead of the rental ones … I asked for oxblood roses and he delivered he was wonderful. If I had any concerns I would just email him and he replied promptly.
The only thing I was concerned with is that they don’t do food tasting we were a little scared about that because food is everything. But let me tell you the food was delicious I have had multiple guest comment on the food from the appetizers to the main course. We did also have open bar just beer and wine and that worked out for us since we are beer drinkers.
The day of the wedding Whitney made sure she prepared everything I asked for and made sure my parents, bridesmaids and groomsmen were taken care of by giving us food and drinks before we made our big entrance.
At the end of the day my husband and I were very pleased with everything we had a perfect wedding with awesome people by our sides all the vendors were easy to work with and Whitney was my favorite person :) and still today people tell how good the food was how much dancing they did and much they drank and I would call that a success. Thank you wedgewood for giving us the wedding of our dreams.

Venue Tour 1
This place is absolutely gorgeous! Views are amazing!
Hidden gem in Chino Hills amongst enormously beautiful MANSIONS lies this venue.
My fiancé and I came here for a tour of the grounds as a possible wedding/​reception venue! This venue is located at a private country club, so there is a security gate at the main entrance to the property. We liked the fact that this venue is close to where most of our family members live.
When we arrived we met with Marissa! She was very friendly and helpful. Marissa was very knowledgeable of the industry and was able to answer all of our questions we had asked.
This place offers 2 ceremony sites. The ceremony site rental that we saw with the tour is $ 2000 and over looks the golf course/​driving range. The other ceremony site rental is $ 3000 and over looks the valley below (which we didn’t see with the tour, but decided to take a look for ourselves at the end of the meeting with Marissa. It is a beautiful view!!). Both sites can seat up to 230 ppl and white padded chairs are included.
Next, we saw the 2^nd floor reception area. The reception area is really quite beautiful. It is painted in neutral colors, which is great because it can accommodate any color palette you choose. The reception area can hold up to 22 tables at 8 – 10 people per table. Chiavari chairs are included. They offer buffet or plated food options.
The reception area is for your event only this way you won’t have any strangers wandering in and around your event. There is also a 2^nd story balcony area which is available to use during your event which overlooks the golf course/​ceremony area. This balcony area can be used as a smoking area if any of your guests smoke.
Now for the cons:
* REALLY over our budget for our 125 person guest list.
* Only 5 hours for your total event including ceremony. An extra hour can be purchased for the evening wedding slot. See time slots below.
* Depending on the season (wedding «high» season) there may be another wedding before or after your event. Event times are 11am-​4pm OR 6pm-​11pm.
Overall a beautiful venue that is local to the L.A. area. We may have to consider other venue locations due to the pricing.

My husband and I visited several Wedgewood locations but immediately fell in love with Vellano. It is an absolutely gorgeous property with beautiful views and is located in a gated community. Everything from the lobby, restrooms, and banquet room is elegant and inviting.
At our initial consultation, we were given a tour of the grounds and once we decided to book, we were given a binder/​planner with every detail listed inside. This binder was so handy and I used it throughout my entire wedding planning process. We chose a Friday to have our wedding and received a $ 500.00 discount on the ceremony space. After reviewing the packages offered (all-​inclusive options) we chose to go with the Gold package. Even when selecting packages, Wedgewood made it easy to customize the package to fit our budget and needs. It is one of the more expensive Wedgewood locations but you are paying for the high end property and service — it was worth it for us. Also, please be aware that there is a service fee tacked on to the bill which I believe was about 20%. They are very upfront about this fee and although we were expecting it, it was not pleasant to see how much it added to our final number. Now that we’ve had the wedding and seen the service provided, I’d pay it again in a heart beat. They are worth every penny!
As part of the all-​inclusive option we chose, we were provided with a cake, flowers, and a dj. The vendors used were great and provided excellent service. We enjoyed not having to go hunting for our own vendors. We worked with Some Crust Bakery, Jon with JC Entertainment, and Robert with Floral Sensations. (Each reviewed separately). While they recommend couple use their vendors, they do not attempt to pressure you into it which I appreciated. I declined their recommended photographer and they were perfectly fine with me hiring my own guy.
Wedgewood meets with you before the wedding to go over details and they truly did cover everything. Every request we had was honored and nothing was forgotten or wrong. We were worried about the food because they did not offer a tasting when selecting the menu. We ordered a dual plate entrée of petit filet mignon and mahi mahi and hoped for the best. We worried for nothing. Our guest raved about the food and service.
The day before our wedding we found out a storm was coming. We had to move our ceremony indoors which devastated me. Vellano assured me they would set up the ceremony indoors and provide a beautiful ceremony. They did. My ceremony was beautiful and reception went by without a hitch.
We paid extra for a wedding day-​of coordinator and are so glad we did. Our coordinator was Veronica. She was professional, attentive to our needs, and kept the day running smoothly. She went above and beyond the call of duty by helping to sew my sister into her dress which ripped minutes before the ceremony!
She also made sure to bring us a platter of Hors d’oeuvres and drinks immediately after the ceremony so we could munch on before taking pictures.
After Veronica left (about half way through the reception) she handed us off to the Banquet Captain, Samantha. Samantha was very attentive and always near for anything we needed. The entire staff was amazing!
We had a beautiful ceremony and reception. We could not have picked a better location or event team.

Wedding Venue Search #2
The Vellano itself is GORGEOUS. It is a gated community with residential homes (HUGE MANSIONS!!) and a country club. There is a security guard at the entrance who needs to check you in. The view here is amazing: LOTS of greenery and LOTS of space. I kind of wish I lived here: P
The actual country club isn’t too big. Their second floor is where the reception takes place. I think they said their max capacity was 220 or 230? My fiancé and I have a guest list of about 230 right now and their reception area looked too tiny to fit that many people comfortably. The ceremony would take place right outside the clubhouse on the grass that overlooks the golf course. We only saw it from afar since it had been raining earlier the day and everything was wet.
The venue here offers all-​inclusive packages, which ranges anywhere from $ 52 – 130 per person (not including tax and service fees) depending on the number of guests and which package you pick. They also have a Saturday premium of an additional $ 15 per person and also a higher food minimum.
PROS:
+ beautiful area (very green!)
+ private second floor for the party
+ only one event scheduled at a time
+ they sent us a card after the tour! :)
CONS:
–far from our area (~30+ miles away)
–small reception area
–a bit on the pricey side (our mid-​range package quote for 220 guests was more than 32k)
–you only get 5 hours for your ceremony and reception
Overall, beautiful place to have your wedding! But will definitely have to consider the far drive and price.

We chose this venue in November 2013 for our wedding two and a half weeks ago. I immediately fell in love with the hilltop ceremony location and exclusivity of the country club. My fiancé fell in love with the «all inclusive» philosophy of the place. We would not have to find our own vendors, they have done all the leg work for us! Sounds like a dream :)
From the moment of booking, the ladies in the office always answered my emails and phone calls with the utmost professionalism and promptness. I am sure I drove them crazy at times with my incessant questions — but they never showed it. They were always patient with me.
Rose was our initial salesperson and I know she has since moved on to another property. Please pass along our warmest wishes and gratitude to her. Her lovely personality and knowledge of the industry/​venue really helped seal the deal for us. She was a complete joy to work with from Day One and we were sad to hear of her departure (but are happy for her opportunities at another Wedgewood property!)
Marissa and Veronica really took charge once they came in and helped us with all our questions. Marissa was a fantastic day-​of coordinator. She conducted our rehearsal as well and answered all bridal party/​officiant questions. She is a real joy to work with!
Once the ceremony concluded, she handed us off to Sam, our Banquet Captain. Sam was very attentive. Our drinks were never empty and we got a nice sampling of all four flavors of our wedding cake. She also sent us home with a bottle of bubbly, which was a welcome and unexpected surprise!
We brought in a lot of items for the reception and Marissa was very accommodating with us storing them the day before and then helping set up the day of. She also helped make sure everything looked exactly as I had imagined.
Overall, we had a dream wedding experience and we cannot thank you enough!
