Went there for lunch today. Wonderful rolls. So fresh and tasted great. We will be there again very soon.

This RA sushi spot has been one of the more memorable spots I’ve been to. I have been coming here since 2009. The fist time I came was on my birthday. I don’t really go crazy with their sushi, only because I enjoy AYCE so much more. I do come for their bara chirashi bowl. They pick it with salmon, tuna, albacore, shrimp, sesame seeds, cucumbers, some tasty greens all in a sweet and savory sauce! It’s their version of a poke bowl, and it really is tasty! Has just the right amount of fish, and I usually request extra shrimp. Service is excellent! I love to take advantage and sit on the patio, it’s really lovely during the warmer nights. I love to take advantage of their lunch specials from time to time for cheaper pricing!

I made a reservation for 22 on a Friday night at 7:00pm. When we arrived, they did not have our reservation, the restaurant was completely packed inside and out, but the manager, Kenny was determined to get us seated. He moved tables around and was able to seat our entire party together within about 20 minutes. Kenny came over to check on us several times throughout our dinner. Our server Nicki was great. It’s very difficult to serve such a big party, especially when the restaurant is already very busy. She was very attentive and polite. We received everything we ordered without mistakes. My son’s birthday turned out great. Thank you Kenny and Nicki for a great experience!

Came here on a Sunday with my wife. The place is beautiful. Ordered maki rolls, two beers, and tempura calamari. The calamari was undercooked, but it tasted fine. The maki rolls are good. The beer selection is good– had IPA and Lagunita. Except I don’t understand why it took a «very long time» to get our maki rolls– the place was not that busy. The server was a young girl. She’s very nice but seems to be stretched thinly and slightly frazzled with the work load. Overall, it’s ok experience. Would have been better if we got the food in time before the beer ran out. Of course, you can just order more beer while you’re waiting for the food. Meh.

Came here for a friend’s birthday dinner last night. I think most RA locations are just about the same and they have a good happy hour menu. We had reservations at 6:30pm and was seated pretty quickly. We ordered a variety of items, such as the Viva Las Vegas Roll, Rainbow Roll, Garlic Ponzu Yellowtail, Seared Tuna, Tuna Takai, Seaweed Salad and other items. They were all pretty good. My favorite is the yellowtail. Also, I ordered the Tuna2 Salad, which I thought was yummy. Drinks are on happy hour as well and hot sake is $ 3. Our table ordered like 15 of them and our waitress was nice enough to put in our order right before happy hour ended. We ended the night with the cinnamon tempura gelato which was good too. Tt’s pretty big, so you can share with the table.

GNO! I like coming here for happy hour. Our waiter was so nice! She put in all of our orders right before happy hour was over. Get the RA chips & salsa, they are the best! It’s not your regular salsa. I believe it’s some sort of tuna dip. The viva Las Vegas roll I can probably eat to myself. Seaweed salad tasted pretty good for some reason. Seared tuna, garlic ponzu yellowtail, tuna Tataki are very flavorful! We should had just order everything from the happy hour menu. Pineapple cheese wonton was different, but it was good. The RA’cking shrimp was the topping for the shrimp tempura roll. For dessert, get the cinnamon tempura gelato, gets great for sharing! Hot Sake was only $ 3! So, we order like 15 of them for our table. Most locations I’ve been too, their décor are very similar. Cute and trendy inside with the red balls hanging from the ceiling.

My boyfriend treated me with a trip to RA for Valentine’s Day. We live about 35 – 40 minutes away but had seen it when we’ve taken trips out here for Afters Ice Cream that is right next door. He is not a sushi lover, or a seafood lover at that but he sucked it up and brought me here. FIRSTLY, I want to shed a lot of light on how wonderful customer service was! We had made reservations in advance, and when we walked in we were immediately greeted by one of the men there and he quickly and kindly sat us at the sushi bar as we requested. Soon after we met our sushi chef and our server. The chef was extremely kind and very attentive to all our needs! Our server was SUCH a gem! She recommended a roll to my boyfriend after we told her his sensitivity to sushi ;). And he loved it! I was so grateful that she helped him enjoy the experience with her ability to offer up such great suggestions to us! I really wish I knew all of their names to credit them for our experience! SECONDLY, the quality of the food and drinks were awesome! Worth every penny! We enjoyed a fish bowl like drink and then I had a martini(recommended by server) and a Rainbow Roll, Baked Scallop Roll, Calamari Crunch Roll, and Chicken Yakatori! Thank you RA!!!

Not impressed at all… I always order California rolls at sushi restaurants but I’ve never ate such a bad and janky roll until I came here and ordered take out. The rolls are tiny and they weren’t cheap either… Never again. If they can’t even make a simple California roll I wouldn’t bother eating anything else here. What a waste of money…

I specifically come here only during happy hour because to me it’s only worth that price range. It’s a nice atmosphere, but the ambiance is kinda too dark for me at night though. It doesn’t really boast a romantic and elegant evening that would call for the dark ambiance. I mean the music is already loud as it is. I would have opted for outdoor seating if it wasn’t that cold outside. My favorite items to get here are the calamari tempura and the Viva Las Vegas roll. What’s in the roll you ask?! Well… It’s crab and cream cheese rolled in rice and seaweed, lightly tempura battered and topped with spicy tuna, crab mix and sliced lotus root; eel sauce and spinach tempura bits.(Can you say that 5 times fast?) I don’t really consume alcohol much, but when I do I’ll opt for either Sapporo or Kirin. It’s Asian cuisine so the beers will pretty much go with anything you order. Yep, they’re even on the HH menu along with many more choices. We had an awesome waitress tonight. Spot on with the service. Refills kept coming without us even asking. She took our drink orders first then the food orders. Once everything was out, she checked back on us frequently to make sure everything is ok and that we didn’t need anything else. From beginning to end she took care of us. I’ll be back again next time during HH to get my grub on. I don’t think it’s priced right when charged full price. The food quality and setting does not match with what I would be paying. Only for HH does the pricing and food quality make sense.

I’m giving 4 starts just because I love the food but the service we got last night was the waitress was taking way too long to get our orders in and took forever to come back to check up on us and it wasn’t even busy during the time we went so that’s not good at all. I wish their was a different RA close to me

I love RA! The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because over a short period of time they’re happy hour menu has gone down hill. It use to be so good. My wife and I use to come here often and now I think I may have to look for a new sushi spot. I don’t want to cause its opened late. But they’re menu kinda sucks now. The service is ALWAYS great. Just the menu is blah…

Food is good and modern compared to your local sushi joints. They have awesome happy hour selections as well. Only con is the rolls are kinda small but it’s all good. That’s their style and I respect that!

I really like this place because my friends and I come here all the time to drink Kirin and sake. The food is also pretty good. Ra has a great happy hour menu for drinks and food. I would say good place for a date or small group of friends. All in all, good spot but I honestly wouldn’t come here if it wasn’t happy hour.

This is the best sushi in Chino. The staff is amazing. The food is great. My friend and I always try and get something different and we are always satisfied. There is nothing in the world better than good sushi.

I’m pleasantly surprised by the fish quality offered at RA! I’ve always judged it to be an Americanized Japanese restaurant, but my chirashi bowl(which was really a poke bowl) was very tasty! The salmon, albacore, cucumbers, avocado and rice was very fresh and filling. Super satisfying meal! Wish I had come here sooner! Minus one star because I think it’s overpriced.

NONONO! Avoid on a Sunday! Honestly this was the worst service I have EVERHAD. We walked in around 1:00pm. It was pretty empty but a game was on. So naturally I expect it to be busy but not at all. We sit in the bar area. A girl takes our drink order(which was a water and a Pepsi) we were going to order alcohol but my mom had never been so she wanted to look at all of the drinks. I can never decide either. I’m assuming because we didn’t order alcohol we were a non factor. We NEVER saw our waitress come back and she never even bothered to really look our direction. She was too busy watching the game. Even the hostesses were glued to the tv. That’s fine I’m 100% for that but tend to your customers first. You can watch the game after you put our order in. At least come back? We clearly were fiddling with our menus looking around and nobody was paying attention. We just left $ 2 for the Pepsi and walked out. The waitress had some look on her face like we were wrong for calling her out. We told them she was way too slow no excuses. Her manager told us not to pay for drink but we did anyway. No one tried to make it better even the hostess didn’t care she rolled her eyes. Oh well! I love this place and sadly I doubt I’ll return. Too many other great sushi places in the area to waste time here.

I’ve been coming here for a while but the last two times I’ve been here have been pretty disappointing. First of all, we got seated outside and waited forever, my friend ended up having to go inside just to get someone to take our order. The food came out in an awkward order: our sushi came at the same time when(no ginger or wasabi so I had to ask for it?), then like 10 minutes later our drinks show up(one was water), then 7 minutes after that my friend finally gets his miso soup and salad, then I get my RA-Kin shrimp. Ridiculous. Oh yeah and the RA-Kin shrimp used to be my favorite but now it’s not good at all! No more salad underneath, the shrimp has no taste anymore… it was my FAVORITE so now I don’t feel like this place has much to offer me anymore, since it’s no longer good. Is it under new management or something? Idk. Disappointing.

The ambiance is fantastic… IF you sit inside, but the outdoor seating is terrible! We were a party of 14 and when they offered us outdoor seating we said sure… Think it would be cool and faster. I don’t know what happened, but they did not have any table settings ready. We had to move the tables and what ever chairs we could find together ourselves. NOSERVICEWHATSOEVER! Because we were there for a birthday, I put up with it and did not complain… The food however was a bit better, but if you frequent Japanese restaurants this is not the place for you. There are some dishes and sushi rolls that are good, but the selection is limited and caters to newbies or those with less discriminating palettes… like going to «Applebee’s for Ribs».

I don’t really see why people gave this place such a mediocre review. Service is good and food is good too. The only complaint I have is I wish the price was a little more fair then I would be happy. Unless it’s happy hour then it’s good too.

I’ve been here a few times, but it’s always a 3 star. This last time, I was didsapointed in the food. The spicy yellow tail was more rice than yellow tail, I could barely taste it over the avocado. The spicy tuna tempura roll was fried within an inch of it’s life, so much so, that it cooked the tuna. The chicken katsu had breading so thick that it fell apart from the chicken and the chicken itself was overcooked. Not to mention that it was a pricey meal. $ 14 for chicken katsu and they didn’t include the rice. Rice was $ 3 extra. The only thing that was good was the ‘tuna’ salad. 4 slices of tuna and 4 slices of another fish on top of a mixed green salad. Delicious. But I would rather go to Ichikawa or Shoboo than Sushi Ra.
