Love love love the food, atmosphere, and servers :) The food was very satisfying and plentiful, and this one nice lady server was super chill and sweet. The rice wasn’t too hard and the service was pretty quick. Plus, they had nice side dishes such as dried seaweed. It felt as if I was eating at home. P. s. the food may be pricey, but it’s totally worth

I don’t know why there isn’t more people whenever I come here. Check this place out people! Everything I tried here is really really good. The place is nice and cozy. P. S. Do me a favor and try their seafood noodle soup if you’re reading this. It’s huge, tastes unbelievable yet super cheap.

I work nearby and I come here several times a week and have probably tried every single item on the menu. It is basically my cafeteria haha. Trust me, this place has the best value for your buck, not to mention authenticity, great friendly service, and deliciousness. Love this place a lot, I’m so glad it opened near me.

Better than BCD Tofu House. Starts off with a side salad, then banchan. This was the first place whose entire banchan I liked: squid, bean sprouts, cucumber kimchi, cabbage kimchi(though it did not taste fermented enough), seaweed, cold noodles. Had both beef and pork kimchi sundubu. The broth is so rich and flavorful. Definitely would come back and make the drive. Credit card is an extra $ 1.50 on the bill.

Pretty good tofu soup, the medium wasn’t spicy though. Got the bulgogi + tofu soup combo for $ 17, kind of pricey Friend got the seafood noodle soup and I had a bite. His portion was huge and the noodle was thick and chewy, like a good handmade noodle. That was just $ 7.50 Pretty good overall. Banchans were decent, not that many but they did have Kim chi raw squid, that was good. Includes water or hot tea.

Really good korean food inside such an unsuspecting plaza. –Dumpling tofu soup not spicy– very flavorful… silky soft tofu! –Seafood pancake — I was afraid it would be soggy but it was actually very crispy and really delicious. A must order. –Banchan selection could be better. 3 out of the 5 were very spicy. I’m always sad when there’s no potato salad :( –The pan fried fish was actually the most memorable for me. I usually don’t eat them when offered to me at korean restaurants because they tend to be soggy and… just yucky tasting. On the contrary, this place makes them SUPER crispy and so flavorful. HOW? I WANTTOLEARNTHEIRWAYS. Service was good considering how busy it was. There was only one lady up front and one waiter. This place gets packed! Will definitely return. A very good alternative if I’m too lazy to drive out to koreantown. The korean drama playing on the TV was amusing…

This place is goooood! I saw the reviews and said, «let’s do this!» The wife and I ordered combination plates of Chicken and Galbi. The service is super fast and boy oh boy they serve the shit piping hot! You will burn the shit out of yourself if you’re not careful. The flavors were spot on. The staff is friendly and attentative and the portions are fantastic. The only reason it’s not 5 star is the ambiance. It’s restaurant quality food in a café setting. I’m totally surprised that it wasn’t packed with people, but that’s probably because they just opened. It won’t be long before the word get’s out and you’ll be waiting outside licking the glass watching people eat. Kudos Chong Dam! Keep it up…

I came around 5pm for dinner with two others. The service was really good as the waiters checked up on our table very often and offered to refill the banchan(Korean side dishes) whenever needed. They were considerate and made sure we always were satisfied. The food was good and authentic. I advise to bring cash because they give a small discount compared to using a credit card.

The ajumma who’s there whenever I eat is pretty nice. For their banchans, they have a good amount. They had a salad, kongnamul-muchim(bean sprouts), dried seaweed, fermented squid, potato salad, oisobaji(cucumber kimchi), and acorn jelly. The dried croaker is good too, the skin is crispy and the flesh is soft. I usually get a spicy pork and soondubu combo for around $ 17. They give a good amount and it’s not too spicy though the soup is boiling hot, they also give an egg for you to crack into your soup. Their haemul pajeon(seafood pancake) is great too, it’s sent out sizzling and with plenty of chopped squid, zucchini, and shrimp. Staff was nice and the place was clean. The place can get packed around dinnertime and the parking is small. They take card.

This place was recently bought out I guess. We used to come here to this mom and pop location but now its bought out by a big chain company. It was super busy on a cold weekend night. Food was pretty decent and the prices are reasonable. They were understaffed but everyone was helping out, bus boys and everything.

To be precise, it is more like 1.5 stars after my visit to their new location. But I bumped it up to 2 stars for the good old memory with my family at Cho Dang that used to be decent back in Diamond Bar. Everything has changed now that they moved to Chino Hills. First let’s talk about the food. Galbi(BBQ beef) was nicely marinated but it was overly burnt. Tofu was typical but on the saltier side for my taste. Regardless, their beef intestine had been my dad’s favorite. Side dishes were above average, though their fried fish is worth noting since not many places offer that. DONOT order their spicy chicken, the plate we had was not fresh at all. Now let’s move on to customer service. The only lady(mid age with short permed hair) that was serving everyone was too occupied with calculating the revenue of the day. There were new parties coming in, but she decided not to acknowledge them in order to keep track of the money she was counting. Then, the table next to us raised their hands for some services, and again, she decided to keep her head down and continue with her money counting. My mom walked up to her for a box, and she literally had my mom waiting there till she finishes counting. I could probably be more understanding if it was near closing time, but it wasn’t. So what she did truly amazed me. On a side note, they charge extra for using credit cards(which they didn’t back in Diamond Bar). Our bill was $ 35 if paid by cash, and $ 37 if paid by credit card. Not sure how it was calculated, but there weren’t any signs saying extra charges for using credit cards when I visited.

An upgrade from the previous Korean establishment, and I like the Cho Dang in Diamond Bar. So far, so good. I’m not certain if it is the same staff as the former establishment, but I would not be surprised. I did not risk ordering my favorite dish(Seafood Pancake) for fear of it being delivered to me half-burnt, but it looked to be a bit better than before. Banchan was alright– I still prefer Young Dong for the basics. I like that they have seaweed here to go with your rice, as I love seasoned seaweed. They also very happily refilled it with double when we asked for more! The croaker was cooked perfectly with a nice lightly crisp skin and soft meat inside. Best part? It comes with your meal/banchan/1 per person– yay! The tofu soup was not as flavorful as other places, but still good. I ordered the Seafood and Beef Soondubu but I guess they just decided to give me Seafood minus the beef. Oh well, sigh. Still wary of the place, but I like the fact that it is Cho Dang now and the food is pretty good. However, for some reason I still prefer the one in Diamond Bar.

It was my first time here and I came with my girlfriend. I’m not quite sure what people are talking about with the«slow service»(maybe it’s improved), because we came during dinner time at 7. The service was pretty quick, we got all of our dishes really quickly. Our soon doo boo came out before we were even done with the fish or other side dishes, and the lady serving us was awesome. Enough with the service, onto the food. I’m very surprised and impressed with this place, because I’m pretty picky with Korean tofu places and someone who doesn’t enjoy any place not named BCD. I’m really happy with the taste, I always get kimchi beef medium spicy at these places, and it wasn’t as spicy as some of the Korean tofu places I’ve had, but it still tasted great and came at a great price. Overall definitely enjoyed eating here and I know I’ll keep coming back because it’s much closer to my house and I no longer have to drive out to Rowland Heights or Irvine for a Korean tofu place that is actually great tasting.

I was pretty sad to see Cheong dam go, but Cho Dang is a well known chain and I was eager to check it out. We ordered: –Combination Galbi and kimchi beef tofu: The Galbi was delicious and tender, and the tofu soup was sooo good! This is what they are known for, and I can see why!($ 17.99) –Bimbambap– I have never had bad bimbambap before, and theirs is pretty standard, the portion is smaller than most places though($ 9.99) –Banchan– Their banchan is good and plentiful, and they serve fried fish! I’m glad to have this in our neighborhood, and I definitely recommend their tofu soup!

Apparently this place just reopened under new management or something like that. Staff was super friendly. Very clean inside. It can easily fit 50 patrons but more than that and it will be cramped. You get a small salad and a pitcher with hot tea when you sit down. Water is served upon request. Soft drinks are served by the can. Then they bring out the banchan. The interesting part of the banchan is they serve a small fried fish. I absolutely loved the fish and I scored when my wife gave me hers. The seaweed paper was a nice touch. The menu was mostly in Korean. Luckily, Unilocal has pics. I knew what I wanted a seafood pancake and beef bulgogi each $ 18. I had a 1⁄3 of the pancake, it was full of seafood goodness. The beef bulgogi was plentiful and the onions added a good flavor. I always want to make tacos with that meat. Wife picked at it to help me out. I was able to save some of it for tomorrow. Wife ordered the bibimbap and she thought it was great. Total for meal was $ 50.60. Left nice tip for the good food and service. Plus had lots of leftovers. FYI– the Korean novelas are great to watch with the subtitles. Happy eating!

Hail to a new, small business in Chino Hills, what used to be a different Korean restaurant! Strange… the other one could not survive; this is largely an Asian-influenced community. The good thing is, this restaurant has already tested the waters in Cerritos, Glendale, Diamond Bar and Torrance, and has obviously succeeded resoundingly. We were warmly greeted by a lovely Korean lady who, throughout our meal, was very attentive and friendly. I found this hospitality quite endearing, and it certainly gave me a great first impression. First, she brought out some unsweetened barley tea, a large pitcher, so we did not have to ask for refills, served mildly warm. I think I would have enjoyed it more either hot-hot, or iced. Next arrived a small iceberg lettuce salad with a ginger garlic soy dressing, one for each of us. The dressing was quite good. Found myself drinking the remains. The 6 banchan were an interesting variety, all quite good. And, please note(!), they are refillable at no extra charge. Forgive me for not knowing the authentic names, but they ranged from roasted seaweed sheets(so tasty), to killer sesame oil marinated bean sprouts, refreshing cucumber in a spicy kimchi style dressing, bite sized broccoli & imitation Krab in a mayo base, the traditional cabbage kimchi, and yet another vegetable(squash?) in a kimchi style dressing. The kimchi was the perfect amount of spicy heat, it did not look like I had lip augmentation afterwards. Yay! Hate that feeling! We loved the small(maybe 5 inches long) salted, fried fish. Yes, with head and all. There were tiny bones, some of which were edible, others not. But very tasty. We each got one that came with our banchan. Tofu and beef soup — It was brought to our table violently bubbling in a small black cauldron. A raw egg accompanied it, to be tossed into that boiling concoction. It was mostly tofu, less beef, and quite good. You can decide how spicy or not you want it. Seafood pancake — This is a thin egg pancake filled with chopped octopus and tiny shrimp, carrot and green onion, served with a light soy/sesame(?) dipping sauce(drinkable, folks). It too came sizzling to our table on a round cast iron skillet. So yummy! Beef bulgogi — Sizzle, sizzle, a huge pile of thinly sliced beef, marinated in a soy marinade, flash cooked and served on a very hot iron plate. I have to admit, I doctored it a bit. I tossed the sesame oil bean sprouts and dressing over the meat. That put it over-the-top wonderful. The two latter entrees were big enough to be shared with 3 – 4 adults, the tofu soup was enough for 2. Our waitress panic’d when we ordered three dishes, and warned us we had ordered too much food. We acknowledged we knew and informed her of our ulterior motives to bring the leftovers home. But even so, it was more than we imagined. Indeed, we had so many leftovers! And of course, it came with two large bowls of steamed rice, decorated prettily with some green peas. This was a very special meal, and quite reasonably priced. Especially the tofu soup selections that were under $ 10. CDTH, you are most welcome here in the big IE!
