Not sure why this place has all the bad reviews. It is a Super 8 in a town of 6000 along the IL river and family owned. My only complaint was the cleaning ladies banged on the door every day at 9:30am. The first day, I was in the tub and had to get out to see who it was. My brother put me up here during my visit because he wanted me to be comfortable and I was. I had a coffee maker, fridge, microwave, hair dryer. The air conditioning wasn’t on and I was grateful for that as I wanted my room to be warm. The staff were friendly and attentive. The lady who worked the counter during the day and the cleaning staff who were in the halls, asked how I was doing and if I needed anything. I’ve never had motel cleaning staff acknowledge me, ever. I didn’t eat the free breakfast offered from 7a-10a but it looked to be the typical items in a continental. The room was clean; no odors, stains or noise. I felt safe staying here and that’s a big deal for me. This motel is in a convenient location. There is a Kroger next door and a delightful walking area and the river off second street just across the street. I will definitely be staying here again when I visit my brother. Other things to mention: mattress and pillows were comfy and had no stains, bugs or odors. Shampoo, conditioner, lotion and two soaps were offered as well as two packages of coffee with sugar and creamer. Free wifi offered and pets can stay for a daily fee of $ 10.

This place is rough. Cleanliness is not a top priority and I’d venture to guess they don’t really care since there’s not many other options accommodation wise in Chillicothe. The staff is absent, hard to find anyone to help at any given time and if you do, it seems like they’re being inconvenienced. I found two cigarette holes in the sheets, the toilet was less than clean, and let’s just say I took quick showers, didn’t want to spend any more time in there than needed. The rate is decent, didn’t eat breakfast there but it looked like a standard continental. If you are going to Chillicothe, my advice is to stay in north Peoria and make the drive if at all possible, wasn’t worth the convenience to me. I get it’s an economy chain but this was borderline hourly feel. Get better Super 8…

My stay was pretty decent. I called Friday night to check if early check in would be allowed, and when I arrived at 1130, they did let me check in. The room was clean, only items I noticed as being off were that the note pad was obviously almost gone and warped by water. I only noticed this because I ended up needing it. The TV worked, the remote worked, the heater worked very well, the pillows were the bowl kind where you need 4 to get to sleep. I didn’t really hear any other guests, yet I know there were plenty. The hotel accepts pets, and my allergies were all over the place so I would recommend asking for a room that no pets have been in, if they have any. I didn’t think to ask, but should have. My stay was just fine, and when in town I’ll definitely stay again.

My first impression of this place was that it was pretty decent. It has a cute little lobby with a couch, a computer, and a big screen television. The hallways and stairs were quite clean and fresh smelling for a budget hotel. We settled into our room with our two children and within an hour my husband summoned me to the bathroom in the room. He raised the seat and I was mortified by what I saw there! There was a large smear of dried fecal material across the top of the rim and some fecal material clinging to the inside of the bowl. GROSS! Well, obviously, I headed straight down to the front desk to let them know about my disgust at this issue. I asked for a manager and was told that there was no manager there. Upon explaining my issue, they said that the housekeeper must’ve missed that area. It was not a small or hidden area of the toilet– anyone who has ever cleaned a toilet would know to lift the seat and thus would’ve seen this! They offered me another room but I explained that I was still worried because I see what their cleaning practices are and while they had me check the room for my satisfaction, I couldn’t be sure that it was cleaned properly! I asked for a housekeeper to come sanitize the bathroom in the new room so that I could be sure it was cleaned better that the last bathroom– this being a major health and hygiene issue! Well, they don’t have housekeepers on the weekend! Then one of the men at the desk had the AUDACITY to pull out a bottle of toilet bowl cleaner and tell me that I could clean it myself! Horrible customer service :(

Safe, quiet location and basic lodging. The motel was tidy and offered cereals and pastries for breakfast. They do allow pets, and there is a grocery store next door.

Me and my big sis rent it a room on Sept 2 for one night at Super 8 Motel in chillicothe after a wedding. Called a day ahead of time for a room. The owner or people that work there are very nice . The room was hot and so was the hallway and it had some kind of smell to it, I wish they would turned on are air in the room before we got there because it was a hot Sept 2 nd. Room looked clean and the air conditioner worked well . The remote control for the TV either the batteries where going dead or the remote control was worn out . Now the towels where like sandpaper and the refrigerator had some kind of problem it froze all of are stuff . The big bed was comfortable.
