Hands down best place to get your sushi fix! I might have a serious addiction to their gabby roll!

I don’t know if this was just a fluke but my girlfriend and I, both from Sacramento where there are much better sushi joints for much cheaper as well, we were looking for a nice place to try and my roommate suggested this place. We both ordered 2 rolls and watched numerous people come in after us and get their food before us. Including some eating at tables where there was a 20 – 30 minute wait. Finally about an hour goes by and we get our 2 Philadelphia rolls but not our bigger more expensive rolls. Finally we had both already finished the Phillys and they barely got out our too other rolls, I had been beginning to wonder if we would get the bill before them. The food wasn’t bad but for the price it was definitely nothing to write home about. Dinner for 2 with 1 soda and water and 3 happy hour rolls shouldn’t come to $ 40 comparing to our favorite place blue nami in Roseville where you can get the same 4 rolls, edamame, and 2 sodas for less than $ 25 and have better food and ambience. I think we will stick to sushi burrito king where the food is just as good but better service and we’ll save $ 10 – 20.

So much good sushi! Love eating here!!! We had gotten 2 Gabby roll, a California eel roll, a Long Board roll, a JB Shrimp tempura roll, and a Northern Lights roll. I would recommend any one of these rolls to anyone I know! If you love the Gabby roll, try the Northern Lights next time!!! It’s really similar, and extremely yummy(:

VERY delicious, we had the California bad boy, some plain spicy salmon rolls, and shrimp Avo. It was busy on Mother’s day night but they were able to squeeze us in without a wait at the sushi bar. My daughter loved the Gyoza and miso and both were on happy hour. My favorite place I’ve tried in Chico so far!

This is my absolute favorite place to get Sushi. All of the food they have is delicious and I believe it is a fair price for the quality of freshness of everything. Has a great atmosphere and the people are always very nice. I have never had a bad experience here and always love whatever I have. They are almost always very quick to get you your food and when you have an order to be picked up they always are fast.

Best Japanese restaurant in Chico! Even though the price is high but the dishes meet that kind of price, totally satisfied.

This sushi is so. Good. The rock shrimp appetizer I had was so delicious, and the sushi is even better. The atmosphere is so nice and beautifully decorated, and the servers are always sweet and helpful and work hard to make your experience a good one. Love this place!

Times change, staff changes, the experience changes. Back in 2013 I found great sushi with a mix of amazing wait staff And real jerks behind the sushi counter. My last visit there was no sign of the problems behind the sushi counter, the wait staff remained amazing, and the sushi was still excellent. My only complaint was the cucumber in the rolls was a bit thick and chunky. Since I have dental issues this reduced the quality a fair amount to me personally. Others might have preferred it that way, but it was large enough to be a problem for me. Not a deal breaker as simple extraction of the cucumber chunks still left an amazing roll. And yes. If that is all I can find to complain about it has really improved. I will be back.

Japanese Blossom is one of our favorite sushi restaurants. They have pricier rolls than some of its competitors in town, but the quality and taste is by far the best. Service is always top notch and they are always friendly. Plus, you can draw on the table tops with crayons as you wait for your sushi! :)

As if this place could get better? Gluten free tempura batter! What have I done to deserve such luxury? This opened up the menu for me considerably as did the final glorious piece de resistance: gf chocolate cheesecake. Unbelievable. Thanks for making my day!

Best sushi in Chico hands down. The owner is great and the service is outstanding! The rock shrimp appetizer is really good. I’m not a seaweed fan so they wrap all the rolls with soy paper instead. This place is hidden in North Chico and everyone needs to give it a try!

I went here for a date night and the food was great. Everything we got was unique and delicious. The only thing I didn’t like was how close the seating is, a little loud but the food made it worth it! Servers were nice and food came out quickly.

I’ve enjoyed sushi in almost every major city in the country. Japanese Blossoms takes a backseat to no one. From the ambiance to the service, the friendly chefs, and most importantly the high quality sushi, this is a 5 star restaurant through and through. I’d highly recommend the seasonal harvest roll, especially when the butternut squash is in season. Also, the hamachi nigiri with meyer lemon zest and julienne shiso leaf may be the best bite of sushi I’ve ever enjoyed. It may have been a chef special, but if you’re into nigiri request it and thank me later. I’m a visitor to Chico but next time and everytime I’m in town I’ll be stopping in to eat. Kudos to Jeremy, Sonny, Garrett and everyone at Japanese Blossoms. Keep up the great food and service!

Japanese blossoms is great. My favorite sushi places are on the coast but this place has great service, tons of different rolls, great staff and a clean place. The shasta role is bomb. Other reviews say the portions are too small. I, however don’t agree. They are wrapped tightly and a good size. Personally, when roles are too big, they’re more difficult to eat. Everything is fresh and the atmosphere is appealing. There is nice lighting and crayons to draw on the table cloth before food is ready. Cool place and they have the most common type of rolls for much cheaper than specialty rolls if you like those also.

The sushi was good flavor wise, but it’s SO pricey at around $ 15 for each roll me and my girlfriend ordered, and to top it off they were literally the smallest rolls I have ever eaten. Usually one specialty roll for each of us would fill both of us up but we left very hungry after ordering 3 rolls and we were confused on why it was so expensive! I’ll go somewhere like Gen Kai next time which will actually give me what I pay for!

I really like this place. My husband and I are really picky with our sushi and Chico seems to be limited in sushi restaurants compared to where we used to live which was METRODETROIT(michigan). We tried a few places and so far I like this one the best. The fatty salmon and yellowtail was delcious and they seemed to be using Japanese rice not like other place we tried which used regular Jasmine rice. My husband hasn’t tried this place yet but if I like it I know that he will too.

This is my favorite Chico sushi spot. I came with a large group so we were able to sample almost all of their rolls. The interior is pretty unique. They have 2 bar areas or several tables to choose from. There is a lot of unique artwork on the walls. The tables have paper tablecloths and crayons so we tried to draw as much of the art work from the walls as we could while our rolls were being made. Our favorite rolls were the Rock’n’Roll, the Gabby roll, Hawaiian Cowboy roll, and the Miss Chico.
