Iron Mountain Leather

I recently had an old handbag fixed by Mr. Iron Mountain (not sure what his name is.) I’m now scouring my house for other leather items to repair because he did such an excellent job. The price was fair considering the materials used and the overall quality of work. The retail shop is full of awesome leather goodies and I could easily spend an hour perusing the merchandise.
One review says he’s rude and that is just ridiculous. Clearly someone is being overly sensitive! He’s not rude at all, just straight forward and direct. I really liked that he let me browse the shop without asking every five minutes if I needed something or had questions.

I went in there a couple of times before to get some leather; however, this time when I really needed their help they managed to come through. If your looking for small talk, here you go, fix it type of place, this is your place to go. I am a college student and needed my back pack repaired it was so bad that I took it to this tailor place and it broke there needles. They said it their needles were to thin to repair this thick nylon backpack and said it could only be done by a leather repair place. I went in yesterday and asked him if he could do repair it he took a good look at it and said he can try and sure enough he came through. He told me it would take 2 – 3 business days. The following day I received a phone call from him saying it was done but one the other hand it was not pretty. I told him I did not care if it was pretty or not just as long as it was functional and that the rain would not go inside. I will post pictures up I do not have any before just after. In the end I was extremely satisfied and I thank him a bunch

This is going to be review of an older product seeing as a bought it from them in 1997 and have been wearing it ever since.
When I was 13 years old I encountered Iron Mountain Leather at a booth in the Chester Arts and Crafts show in Chester CA. I bought a Union blue suede leather Civil War kepi. The the people were polite enough, I looked at their artworks and handcrafts, mostly Native American themed. When I had a question they answered it accordingly, and respectfully. My mom still buys gear from them and has nothing but good things to say. Their products were all made with exceptional quality. I’ve worn the heck out of that blue kepi and have had very little in the way of problems with it, I wore it yesterday (I’m 28 now) so 15 years? All I had to to is tighten some stitching with the adjustable strap. I bought a Confederate grey suede kepi from them a few years later and have had no problems with it at all. For both hats the leather is still in good shape. The quality of their products speaks for itself. Thank you for making good products Keep up the good work.

I have lived in Chico all my life and have been in and bought items from Iron Mountain Leather many times. This guy is talented. But he is as rude as it gets. You… The customer, are bugging him every time you enter his shop. I recently went to the antique show at the silver dollar fairgrounds. I told my daughters, 8 and 10, that if they were good I would buy them something. My daughters were great. They patiently walked through the antique show without a hitch. They wanted some crystals so they stepped up to the venders table to pick out their prize. They were at the table for 10 seconds, before this lady walks up and rudely says «EXCUSES ME GIRLS» My daughters politely move. My wife and I were shocked. When we looked up to see the rude lady was the wife of the rude owner of Iron Mountain Leather. I guess rude people stick together.

In the world where you can get anything online in a day or 2, its still nice to have a great local shop with good service. I bought my daughter a riding jacket here a couple years ago, got my riding vest here, and I am a big boy, and today got my son his first riding jacket, just got his permit today. Thanks for the great service and quality gear.
