Literally 2 minutes after I finished eating my food. I had to run to the toilet. This is probably the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. This place makes Panda Express look high class. My stomach still hurts, and I hope God has mercy on my soul for fear I shall not make it through the night. Please do yourself a favor and never eat here. Unless you like watery poops, and feeling like death is at your door step. This place must be shut down it is worst then Isis.

After Hong Kong restaurant down the street failed miserably, I was still on my quest to find good Chinese food in Roger’s Park. I ultimately found good Chinese food in Roger’s Park, but unfortunately this place isn’t it. I ordered sweet & sour chicken & Mongolian beef lunch specials. Portions were good but the food was below average. The chicken & rice left a bad taste in my mouth — like a steel or metallic taste. Not sure if it’s from some preservatives they may have used or poor cooking equipment whose coatings seep into the food during preparation. If it were just the bad food, then I may have given more stars but after I had my first meal from Yuen’s, I felt funny. Stomach wasn’t digesting the food and it felt like acute food poisoning for at least 8 hours after the meal at which point I started vomiting violently. My stomach couldn’t digest the meal for a full 8 hours which tells me the food is made of crap ingredients. Nevertheless, I thought maybe the vomiting was caused by something else and a month later I decided to give this place another try. This time the vomiting came within 90 minutes of eating and I put two and two together. Poison me once, shame on you. Poison me twice, shame on me. Guess I just wanted to make sure. Don’t let the low prices fool you. It’s probably rat meat or something. Would rather pay more $$$ for quality food which won’t poison me.

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Ordered delivery which took well over an hour to get here(without warning of a long wait time) — once we did get it, EVERYTHING was soggy — the rice and the vegetables in the Kung Pao chicken were both overcooked. The crab rangoon wasn’t even slightly crispy. I could barely eat any of the order and had to end up throwing most of it out.

If there was a way to give this restaurant a negative star I surely would. This is the very first time that I would have ordered, because I heard the food was very good that’s only if you can get past the RUDESERVICE. The guy that answered the phone was beyond ignorant. He would cut me off while trying to order and seemed as if I was bothering him. Also it says they open at 11am, well they did not get there until 1130. My coworker ordered from this place just 2 days ago and I was rudely told they don’t deliver to this location and then he hung up on me. I would suggest NOT going to/ordering from this establishment unless you are a fan of rude and unprofessional behavior.

Their orange chicken is the best. If you order delivery they will fill your box over the top! Love this place!

I ordered here once a few months ago and I’ve never ordered since. I got the chicken fried rice and it was awful. It tasted just horrible like if it went bad. I don’t recommend this place.

Don’t order anything expensive. Low quality here. I placed an order for Garlic shrimp + extra shrimp and vegetables for delivery. It wasn’t made the way I ordered with garlic sauce. But made with tons of Hunan sauce/gravy, way too little shrimp(I counted) and few vegetables. Tasted like I was eating salt. However, the double happiness fried rice is good and made fresh the first time I ordered it. Be careful about your meat orders and the special instructions. You won’t get what you paid for.

We ordered shrimp fried rice. Rice was well cooked spicy, seasoned But main hero of the rice which is ‘Shrimp’ was not cleaned They are not deveined. They just serve like that. Unclean shrimp cause serious health problems.

Have had no end of delivery problems with this place. Half the time, the delivery people cannot find my address(I live four blocks away!). Other times, they cannot figure out how to punch in the code for more doorbell. More than once, I have placed an order online, received a confirmation email, and had no food arrive. Then, when I called, they would tell me «something’s wrong» with their online system, and they never got my order! I am done with place.

I’ve definitely had better fried rice. I mean, it was edible, but I won’t be coming back here again.

Second time I’ve been here and was ok the first time, but this was awful. The sauce for the S&S chicken tasted metallic, I got the worst egg rolls I’ve ever had(I’m pretty sure they were old toilet paper rolls) and God tried to warn me but I didn’t listen… Pad Thai. Usually, something that tastes pretty much the same wherever you go(unless you try the instant microwave kind… do not do this thing), but this was absolutely inedible. Granted, they are a Chinese restaurant, but I was naïve for thinking it would be ok. The almost nonexistent meat was chewy and weird, I asked for spicy and it didn’t happen, but the overall taste was just rude. I had to throw it away. In the issue of fairness, it was a large portion(that got thrown away) and everything was very hot and quick.

I ordered online( Unilocal Eats maybe) and I was there in about 20 minutes, a few minutes longer than my usual place tells me on the phone.(It was sort of weird going for an ASAP pickup and only being told to come in 10 – 30 minutes.) The food was super hot and neatly packaged. Everything was tasty, with the exception of the egg foo young, but not many places nail that dish in my book.(Hunan Spring does good, but their s&s dishes sport reconstituted pickles like a cheap burger joint.) It’s nice because there is a parking lot off Clark St., but the logistics of the lot are always bad. I’ve been to a gyro place next door a few times and the lot is just too small for the obligatory idiot. This time the obligatory idiot was Yeuns delivery guy. He sat blocking my entrance to the lot from Clark St for quite a while, then parked diagonally in 2 spots. When I got inside, I was asked to wait a few minutes, then had some delivery instructions for the driver that had followed me inside.

Worst Chinese I’ve had in a long time. Food was stale and dry. Inside place seemed run down.

Combination Lo Mein: 2 pieces of shrimp + 5 pieces of beef + 5 pieces of chicken + 50 pieces of vegetables = $ 9.00. Garlic Chicken should be called«Vegetables and Other Fillers over Some Pieces of Garlic Chicken».

Yuen’s rules! Seriously. The portions are large and the food is classic Chinese takeout. We order here almost every week!

The best Chinese food takeout place in Rogers Park. You can order online and get lunch and dinner specials, and orders are ready for pickup within 15 minutes. Large portions, rich tasting food, and great service!

So I had to write about Yuen’s. I haven’t had the best of luck with Chinese delivery restaurants on the Northside of Chicago. Actually, delivery in general. The food is usually not great or their delivery takes for ever. Now I’ve ordered from Yuen’s twice and both times, they’ve surprised me. I first ordered from here back in December… they estimated 45 – 50 minutes for my delivery time when I ordered online via GrubHub, which I expected considering it was a Saturday evening. The delivery guy showed up in 20 minutes. My food was hot and actually pretty good. I ordered from there again today(another Saturday evening) and, once again, GrubHub said it would take 45 – 50 minutes to get here. The delivery guy showed up in 25 minutes! And once again, my food is pretty damn good! Yuen’s is now my go-to Chinese place on the Northside! Hopefully I don’t move anytime soon because it took me almost 2 years to find a place I actually liked!

Not bad. Ordered the lunch special, via Grub Hub. He got the Rib Tips with garlic sauce. I got the Mongolian chicken. Both were alright, hit the spot when you crave TV and Chinese food. Its great! Comes with a myriad of fried rice choices, an eggroll(not good) and a pop for like 5.50. Cheap. Portions are OUTTACONTROL large. Leftovers for a few meals. The Rangoon. YEEEESPLEASE. Large, fully stuffed. Good. Not like other places that just give you crunchy fried batter. These are mainly creamy filling. Though they don’t come with sauce.
