White Castle

This was a perfect cap to my late night, early morning. The burger was still hot when I got home, and although greasy it wasn’t a nasty greasy & even better it didn’t make me sick. I’m not a big fast food eater because it always makes me feel so bad. Good job White Castle.

We were on our way home from the AC/​DC concert at Wrigley field. I Saw this white castle and decided to pull in through the drive through. A man took my order, it was fine after that it was downhill. Waited for a good 6 minutes for the car in front of me to get there food. Then when it was our turn. The lady mumbled the price. I said pardon then she yelled me i paid her she gave me change and then dissapeared
After this we waited and waited and waited. It must have taken 10 minutes finally a guy handed me our food, he didn’t say thank you or anything. I thought he was then gonna give us our sodas, but he walked off. I had to knock on the window a couple of times, I told him we didn’t get our sodas. He made the sodas and practically shoved them to me, no thank you or anything.
The food was fine, but the service was beyond slow and they service was very rude. I will never go back to that location. Whatever they get paid is too much.

Very Poor customer service! Extremely slow, received the wrong order, and when I addressed the that the diet coke out of the pop machine tasted like flat fruit punch, they didn’t say sorry or anything! I requested a chocolate shake instead, and instead of just giving it to me for the inconvenience, they said there is an additional charge and I’d have to pay the difference! Just giving my own experience here. My grade, a big fat F-!!

It’s a White Castle, not much more to say about the food. This location is one we always go to because of location to our house. The service is always friendly, but can be slow. The restrooms are relatively clean, I’ve never seen it totally gross. The place is generally clean, but it is not located on the best corner. If you don’t approach from the right way you’ll drive by it and leaving isn’t easy either. This doesn’t stop a big lunch rush so try to make it an early or late lunch.

I eat at this location probably 3 times a month. It’s one of my favorite after work late night stops. However tonight as I attempted to dine with my bike like 100s of times before I was rejected. This makes me so sad. :(I guess I’ll have to find a new home.

I see many visits here, after leaving work, if im hungry and don’t want to cook. I love the chicken, and waffle sliders. Yummy!

The opposite of fast food. It should not take 25 min to go thru the drive thru but it did! I’ll pass on White Castle from now on. Nothing tastes that good…

I love White Castle, I grew up with loving the burgers. But the quality of the food being served at this location is poor. The burgers are dark brown and look very old not the light brown color I am use to. The oil used made the fries taste very fishy, could that be the result of old oil. Yes I love White Castle but this location has issues that should be resolved to bring it up to the standards deserving of White Castle’s amazing history.

I would give zero stars if I could. Albeit fast food, this place does not even try to produce any quality products. The «meat» is left to sit out for hours and is very plastic in nature. When called to complain, they said they would give additional burgers next time.

Placed my order online for a massive amount of food…$ 46…HA…dont judge me and my WC.
The food was fantastic BUT they forgot a few of the sandwiches… BOO. When I called to ask, they said I could come back in and get them… but I didnt want to go back out.
I absolutely love all of the disgustingness that are in these sliders, fries, chicken rings… yum.

My 3 star rating for White Castle is not just for their food. It’s for the whole experience, and yes, my trip to White Castle was an EVENT.
I have been to a White Castle exactly once before my visit to this location. It was either 1993 or 1994 and I was quite young. I cannot remember it so it’s basically like I’ve never been. I have been driving by this White Castle for like 5 or 6 years, always wondering about it. I’ve become more captivated with it in the last several months. Finally I pulled the trigger.
Last night, completely sober, midnight. It is time. Get in the car honey, we are going to god damn White Castle! My boyfriend warns me it’s terrible and not to expect much. I’m not really expecting anything but I assume the food will at least be «fast food good» …
The interior is exactly what you want out of W.C. It’s faded and pale. The sticker logos on the soda fountain machine faded beyond recognition. The little «bar» of plastic lids is covered in so much suspect liquid and wrappers that I don’t even want to set my soda cup down on it. The floors are sticky. The wall paper is sad and all the booths are faded and tired. Almost none of the tables are clean. The lighting is institutional, both too bright and too dark at the same time. It’s maybe one of the most depressing places on earth. The patrons are even better. Either drunk or high or just totally bored white dudes, alone and slumped over, waiting for their meal. I imagine they have a game of Dark Souls paused at home.
The pizza faced lad behind the counter is nice enough but clearly disgruntled. He calls out my order to some unseen cook several times with great annoyance, like he is certain he will get the order wrong (he does not). They seem backed up, they seem unprepared for the inevitable busy time that is midnight and later. At some point they call out with great distress that a tour bus is arriving. They are not ready.
The food itself is mostly completely and unbelievably terrible. Like I said, I thought the sliders would at least be «fast food good», they were TERRRRIBBBLLLEEEEE. Cheese and salt couldn’t even save these. I got 4 sliders in an effort to try «one of everything». Whatever that means since they have other slider flavors. They were all bad, maybe the cheese and bacon and cheese being the better of the four. I didn’t realize HOW SMALL and thin the patties were. There is certainly no actual beef in these. Compressed and colored soy product with binder perhaps. Just so bad. I’m pretty sure they are cooked in a microwave, the amount of condensation on the buns making them so extremely soggy. I ate bits and bobs but could not finish any one of the sliders completely.
Their crinkle fries were decent, most of them were crispy and they had good salt. Boyfriend ordered their mozzarella sticks. I will say these are good. Like surprisingly good, better than what I get a lot of pizza and pub restaurants. We didn’t order the chicken rings which I regret as it will probably be another 20 years before I go to a W.C. again. We leave as the tour bus of drunk ass bitches descends.
So while the food, specifically the sliders, is more terrible than I could have thought possible, the whole process was so perfectly White Castle that I have to give the whole experience at least 3 stars.

I give white castle 5 stars and here’s why…
It’s white castle… you either love it or hate it.
It doesn’t matter if the service sucks, there’s only like 3 white castle’s in driving range and two are really far. Service usually is pretty slow at this location, but this time I was in for a pleasant surprise. .
I had the crave and they fulfilled it!
The young lady was very courteous and filled my order correctly. …
I had to laugh when checking in here and Unilocal asked if «it was good for kids»…I checked no. White Castle isn’t good for anyone, but sometimes you just gotta have it.

Just a quick review from my experience this morning. I was staying with friends nearby and walked over to get a cup of coffee
The girl who took my order asked me 5 questions about my order. I said medium coffee. She said What? I repeated. She said what? I repeated. She said what size? I said medium. She said medium coffee? I said yes. She asked if that was all? I said yes. She asked again if there was anything else. I said no.
Then she asked the other guy who was cooking where the cups were. Then asked him again. I am just saying… if you are gonna have someone at the register working with customers, they should at least have a little training and basic customer advice skills
Glad I didn’t order more or I might have been there all day clarifying things

It’s White Castle, you can’t expect too much for the food itself.
The employee who served me was plenty polite and helpful, but it was a complete sh*t show in the back. They were very overwhelmed, drive through orders were going to the wrong car, the wait to have my order taken was pretty long.
The store manager was very crass and impolite to her employees and customers and did not want to hear anything that the shift manager had to say, causing extra confusion in the kitchen. Store manager was also doting over every employee and micro managing pretty hard.
But the line employees were fantastic.

The employees may be missing more teeth than the entire Chicago Blackhawks squad, but when you’re in the mood for some sliders this place will do nicely.

I have always loved White Castle burgers and this location did not disappoint during my last visit back home to Chicago. This place is friendly and clean and most importantly the sliders were great!

It seems almost every review I can find on here is about «eating sliders while flat drunk». Honestly much like anything it’s all opinion. I personally love White Castle. However I eat here for food not because I was recently drinking.
Burgers are tiny, but they’re supposed to be… they invented the slider (I think). Onion rings are great, always crispy, chicken rings are tasty.

Although their burgers are fairly cheap, I have to say that In-​N-​Out burgers tastes way better than White Castle burgers. Their burgers are decent, but definitely not something to go crazy for. I’d probably revisit this place again if I was back in the area, drunk, and wanted something quick and cheap to eat.

Love this place — especially after watching the movie!
Get the jalepeno cheese if you need the spicy kick.
Get the combo which comes with 4 sliders, fries, and a drink (goes well with the grape Fanta) for around $ 5.
Please open up a store in San Diego!

Sometimes you just have to have a couple of White Castle cheeseburgers. At least I do. This place is clean and maintained, but the service is pretty bad.
