I used to love going to this place. It is just down the street from me. But you have to go at a certain time. All of the rude people work during the morning. If you want good customer service and sweet people you would have to go in the late afternoon or during the early evening. Trust me you do not want to go here if you’re in a hurry or if you are in a good mood. I would not recommend going to the store you can find another Walgreens just up the street on Western and Lawrence. It is a bit smaller but it is cozy and they have older employees there who are very sweet.

Store staff is great. Pretty good at the ‘I see 3′ Quick helpful service. This is a pharmacy review. Pharmacy lies to their customers. Lied over the phone and through an email. Email states ‘insurance carrier denied refill’ Strange, I get it every 2 weeks promptly. I wait 30 minutes to get ahold of my insurance representative who tells me they didn’t even TRY to put it through. They call walgreens ok-ing it while I’m on the phone, STILL these incapable pharmacists want to delay it. Insurance absolutely fine. On the phone states ‘um.let me try, no, it won’t go through’ LIES. It does go through, you just want to decide yourself, above doctors and insurance, what a patient should or shouldn’t have. If they don’t «feel» I should get my medicine, then say so. Skip the lies part as it’s quite insulting.

I walked over to Pharmacy, oblivious to the fact that it had just closed. Tracy, a pharm-tech, just sighed, smiled at me, and grabbed my medication bag. Clearly having closed her register, she walked me and my meds over to an empty register, signed back in to the system and allowed me to pay for my order. First, where do they ever really know you by face and name any more(although she still confirmed my name and address)? Secondly, on a Sunday evening, who wouldn’t just bolt out of there running towards their car? Lastly, how lucky am I to have these guys as my local Walgreens Pharmacy crew?! Can’t get any better.

This is your typical Walgreens. Closes early so I don’t frequent this location due to my schedule. If I need groceries, a greeting card or ICECREAM! this is the place I’ll choose. Very friendly.

Since moving to the neighborhood, I’ve been stopping at the Walgreens at Lawrence and Western and it never quite met the standards I came to expect from Walgreens(see the 2-star reviews). But then I discovered this location just about four blocks north on Lincoln. This one was bright and clean, seemed much larger, has parking(even though I usually walk), and the employees even appear to care about customer service. While pausing in an aisle trying to remember what else was on my list, an employee actually asked if I was finding everything okay. Another one was helping a couple customers at the photo counter. When it was time to check out, an older woman was busy chatting up the cashier(something about Wrigley Field, then something about cell phones, then something about the weather…). Instead of having to choose between giving her the bum’s rush or annoying me, another employee opened a register just to get me on my way. Visit this location fast… it’s gotta be too good to last.
