Villa’s Nuts & Candy

This place is absolutely amazing. Strawberries are done fresh every time you order them. The prices are unbeatable with great quality. You are even able to watch the workers in action decorating the fruit with anything you request. I usually just ask for an assortment and entrust in their choices

I lucked up on this place at the Maxwell Street Market held on Sundays (Roosevelt near I94). I am from another Midwest state and when I grew up there used to be a store named Halle Bros (Halle Berry was named after this department store), anywho this store used to have a little snack section where they would sell Red Candy Apples not cinnamon), Cotton Candy, licorice etc. Since being in Chicago since the age of 10, I had been looking for Candy Apples but to no avail until I stumbled upon Villas. I am so grateful to have found them here. When they close for the season, I will have to go my mail order Gourmet Apple Store in New York to get these delicious treats.

Villa’s is a tiny shop in the back corner of a small Pulaski shopping center, but trust me its worth finding. The shop has all kinds of candy lollipops in milk, dark, white chocolate, and yogurt. They also have some classic treats such as candy cigarettes and my fav Sweetart pops. The popcorn is really good, especially the fresh popped, and the chocolate covered marshmallows and strawberries are excellent.
The best part about this place is the custom orders. I worked with Marcy, the talented owner, on favors for my baby shower. She has dozens of designs to choose from for almost any occasion: baby, wedding, bachelor parties, baptism, communion, birthday, and she will work with you on the type of chocolate and color to match your event. I got milk chocolate storks and white chocolate bassinet lollipops. She also did a special order of chocolate covered fortune cookies, and they were a big hit at the shower! The prices are very reasonable and the service is exceptional.
