I’ve only been here on Tuesdays for Trivia and that is a pretty good time. I was also there for a Halloween years ago, but we won’t count that one. The layout of the bar is odd. When you first walk in, there’s a long bar area that has been completely dead every time I’ve ever been there. The first time I went there, I thought I was in the wrong place. Unless you realize there is a backroom, it’s a bit confusing. In the back are your run of the mill wooden bar booths, tall tables, flat screen TVs, and a pretty diverse crowd. You run the gamete from DePaul students to the thirty-something professionals. When we have been there on Tuesdays, they feature $ 7 Bud Light pitchers and half-off sandwiches and wraps. The food is decent and a good deal considering the price. I will say one area that is lacking is service. I don’t understand why, but they only have one guy working the entire backroom and he tends to move slowly and rarely gets the entire table’s order correct. Last week I ordered onion rings and instead was served fries. He never came back so I just ate the fries and didn’t bother to say anything.

No more $ 540s on Fridays. I am very sad about this. $ 10 is just unacceptable for King Cobra no matter what anyone thinks. What is this world coming to?

It’s nothing special, I wasn’t wowed by the place. It’s in lincoln park so parking is hard to come by. The music was decent with a mix of early 90s to present hip hop and popular music. The place was so crowded and people kept bumping into me. I hate that. I literally hate it, I don’t like being pushed into people I don’t know and then having random drinks spilled because it is just cramped in there. I swear it’s a fire hazard. Also the service sucks, my friend tried closing her tab and the bartenders could not find her credit card for about 15 minutes. Major suck.

Had a lot of fun here last Saturday night. Good music, but not too loud, cheap enough drinks for the area and, aside from the obnoxious and drunk Cubs fans, a pretty good group of patrons there. I also think it is hilarious that they give you 40’s in a brown paper bag.

If I could give this place a lower rating I would. Dear bartenders… If I order a Jack, don’t give me Evan Williams and try to pass it off as Jack. When I call you out on it, don’t get all pissy with me. If you don’t have it, then tell me you don’t have it and ask if it’s okay if you substitute X for Y.

We came here for a friend’s birthday and it was… average? It took my boyfriend 20 minutes to find parking which was pretty sad… The music was ok, the dj played some older songs mixed in with newer hits. The liquor wasn’t too pricey and I had this fishbowl mixed concoction(literally in a fishbowl) for like $ 15 or something which was fun. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE took sips of it and it took a while before that was finished. Anyways, the place was pretty packed by the time I left(around 1). It wasn’t exactly my type of crowd(and I’m not sure what my type is) and the place was way too crowded to even walk. The journey to the exit was long and difficult. I probably got punched 10 times and had 5 different people spill drinks onto my feet and step on me within the 5 minutes it took to walk out! And then after I made it out, I had to walk to my car(10 minutes away) in the stupid cold with heels on, which isn’t Victory’s fault but I’m just saying…

Went here for trivia a few weeks ago. The set-up is nice with trivia all in the back room. Questions range from super easy-to damn near impossible, which was nice. But the real kicker was how long this trivia night was. It seriously felt like eternity. And our team members tended to fall out due to bed times for the work week. Would definitely go back if the trivia picked up(questions seemed to happen every 5 minutes or so with a total of 10 rounds…4 questions per round).

Have never been here to eat but have partied it up here. The music after 10pm on a Friday or Saturday night is really good. My girlfriend threw a birthday party here and they gave her a free 3 hour open bar special. The bartender was awesome too as she kept on giving us free shots. If you want to relax a bit from the dance music, go to the front room and unwind where another one of their bars are located. They also have a private room for booking.

I brought in 2010 at Victory Liquors this past week and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve lived a few blocks away for the past three months and I’ve been meaning to check it out and finally did. First of all it was a great special, $ 65 all you can drink 9 – 1 with appetizers and party favors. The price was much better than most other places I checked out and it did not disappoint. I was worried with such a great price it would be oversold but I did not wait for a drink all night. There were plenty of waitresses and no lines at the bar at all. The music was great and there was plenty of unreserved seating if you got there on time. The only things that disappointed me were the long line to get in and the lackluster appetizers. Although all in all it was a great place to spend the New Year and I am looking forward to going back during the week for bingo, karaōke, trivia and singles nights all with great specials!

I’ve been a few times only to meet people and never liked it. I think I’ve only had a beer here once only because the nights I was there it was so busy, bartenders were unable to make enough rounds to satisfy all those that are waiting. Time and again because of this, we would walk out. I love the photos of the place on their website and it was reason I’d thought of having private parties, but, the place doesn’t live up to the hype nor the photo. If having your private party, you might like to ask for one of the rooms shown on their website or make it late afternoon. I say bah nowadays when asked to stop by. Too small with too many sausages, the bar could hold maybe fifty people at most? They need more space or a better system of handling beer ordering customers, wait time is ridiculous. I’ve heard people say there are attractive ladies that come here, yet I’ve never seen them.

I only came here because it was a good friends bday. It took me 30 minutes to find parking. After I damned everyone to hell one opened up… They let me just walk into the place… Ok I’m gettin old or was looking super hot that day?! I don’t know. It was way too crowded. I’m way too short. Not enough bars and the beer selection wasn’t good. One of the bartenders even swore at my friend who happened to be a GIRL! Not a fan of this place. I won’t go even though the music was good.

Had a raucous good time here… I helped the bartender acquire his porn name! Needless to say service after that was pretty damn good… for my last drink I ordered ‘whatever I had last time…’. His response was ‘the last time, I got you pregnant.’ To which I responded that my child support check was late… Hip hop mashups mixed with Pat Benetar… the music was good but annoying at points as just when you started to get into a song it changed and not really mixed properly but… we still danced and had fun with it! Standard Lincoln Park fare. Wannabe trixies in peacoats and cheap shoes mixed older gentleman wearing hawaiian shirts and good suits trying to pick up said trixies. Both successfully ignoring each other… The staff at Victory seemed pretty cool considering what they probably deal with on a busy night. Cool spot. I probably would not enjoy it if it was totally packed though.

with the pretty people of the coolest type here I stood and drink the whiskey with the jack and the juke box in the front she play the songs chosen by some peoples who like to sing and swing to the musics. fun we haves and peoples were nice, but sometimes lacking in the area of the clue to be nice to the other peoples, but it was okays as they at least show their boobies to help you forgets the moments. in the backs is the dj with the mac apple computer with the music of the mtvs and the b96 and the girls in the heels of the halloweens and the kinky hair and more boobies to be stuffed like gnochi, but not as delicious. is nice to have here, but weird. very yang to the ying to be in the place of the sames, but is ok as people they dance and they sing and they shake and they wiggle and its ok because life is to be not so complicated to be finding peoples to be naked with in the morning.

Last night I ended up at Victory for a friends going away party. I would have picked any other bar in the city, but since he’s moving to Thailand — I figure I’d better just shut up and play along. I’m glad I did. My faith in service at Victory was restored last night having Tracy wait on me at the front bar. She was super sweet, and attentive considering that they were pretty busy. I’d even go out on a limb and say that I’d go back there… only if she’s working though!

Wow… you can only imagine how surprised I was when late(very late) on Saturday night a group of people demanded we go to Victory. Now, I don’t hang out in that neighborhood much anymore(yes, because I am over 24) so I didn’t realize it was the old VOO! Holy crap! Amazing how a place can put up a new name and change the décor but remain exactly the same. Thank god I had been drinking. Crowded, obnoxious, loud, sweaty, nasty, ogling, grabbing, blacked out people making out… need I say more? Won’t be going back anytime soon. Just not into this scene, but it is great for the young drunkards that need somewhere to act out their debauchery.

Felt like I was either in the Twilight Zone or back in College. Some ok music and the drinks are cheap, but not worth fighting through the crowds of people…

Quicktake: Double sided sports bar, one side for chillage /game watching, one side for dancing /watching drunk people. Both sides have access to $ 540’s: watch out! The Good: I don’t mind Victory Liquors it is a popular Lincoln Park sports bar wide a wide range of TVs as well as the typical bar menu. The pricing is reasonable and you’re going to get your stock juke box that plays the same tracks as any other bar up and down the street. What makes this place unique is how big it is, so it’s extremely convenient when you are rolling out with ten or more of your best friends. There is some degree of dancing there and the girls are generally good looking with some scary ones mixed in between. The Bad: Because most people there are rolling out with ten of their best friends, there is a tendency for the place to get crowded. The music can sometimes get too loud which makes it impossible to talk to anyone. Popped collars chugging 40’s is a bit much. Overall a fun place for mass gathering and having a drunk evening.

Nasty. Wanted to take a shower after getting out of there. I regret letting my friends choose places to go to on Saturday nights. Some Chad came up to me(acquaintance of a friend) and asked where I live, this was his response: «DUDE! You don’t live in Lincoln Park? WTF… wow… that’s…like…woah…» Then the bathroom door hit me in the back as several other guys dressed like they were sailing with the Kennedys came out. Watching the Trixies scream and raise their Bud Lites for facebook photos got annoying fast. And there was no service. Someone in the group went to buy beer for us and came back 35 min later.

After gorging on wings at Chicago’s Best Wingfest and a nap, I attended a private Oscar party here. Yeah for a festivities heavy Sunday! I guess that I never noticed this bar when walking a few more yards to Itto’s Sushi. The main bar was pretty empty for a Sunday night. I walked around the corner of bar into the private room. The private room’s pretty nice. The wall was lined with tables and chairs while the main seating area had taupe leather chairs and couches looking out to a projection screen tv. The room itself is lined with HD tv’s. The menu served was your basic bar food-mini burgers, chicken sandwiches, and pita with hummus. The mini burgers were pretty good since my standard for mini burgers goes back to Pop Burger in NYC. These burgers reminded more of my mom’s recipe and they were nice and juicy too. I liked the wide selection of sauces for the burgers. In terms of the bar, this is where they lose stars. The drinks were okay, but heavily iced. Seriously, there was little alcohol and a lot of ice. My first two drinks were like drinking ice water with a little bit of amaretto in them. Definitely call them out on their abuse of ice to alcohol ratio. It makes me wonder if they serve all of the DePaul students and other Lincoln Park patrons such watered down drinks and if they like it. A different bartender did my third drink which was still a little watery, but better than the previous two. He convinced me to try blueberry vodka. I actually enjoyed it and would maybe try it again. It was a great party. The venue with the crazy amount of tv screens is perfect for an Oscar party. If I were to go there again, I’m hoping for better bartenders who pour less whimpy drinks that aren’t completely watered down.

I went here for an Absolut Vodka special event that I had heard about from work. While the Absolut event kicked butt, the people who worked here were lacking something: Maybe it was their souls. The karaōke guy was funny and cool, but he kept(annoyingly) demanding people tip him. The bartender rolled his eyes as if to say, «Looks like I’m not getting a tip,» every time someone tried to cash in an Absolut free drink ticket, which made me go get some more and cash in about 20 of them throughout the night. I stopped tipping him because he was being so snotty with everyone. If you don’t want to give free drinks away, don’t work on the night when Absolut is paying the bar tab. Absolut tipped him well. he had nothing to worry about. The bar seemed cool, but I’m not into the whole Fighting Irish thing, so I think I didn’t get it. The obvious karaōke regulars were there. A group of men sang *N SYNC songs in perfect harmony as I giggled into my 20th free drink. In all, it wasn’t bad save the terrible attitudes of the wait staff. I probably won’t go back because of that.
