My grand-kids have gone to Ringling for years, but Ringling has nothing on Universoul. And it’s called that for a reason. Many African American kids have gone to the circus, but it is always a good thing to see someone who looks exactly like you performing and doing all those things you remember and love from your circus visits back in the day. I know I was extremely impressed. I could not believe that a circus had so many people up on their feet cheering and dancing and having a good time. There is nothing like it and I mean that for real. The show is more entertaining every year and more people come out each time to see it. And the fact that it has stayed on the South Side of Chicago and never went crossover or mainstream is more than wonderful. As an old school person, I ain. t got nothing against any other circus I’ve seen over the years, but baby… there ain’t nothing like Universoul Circus. On the real… it’s like comparing the Black Cowboys to other cowboys… you have to be there.

had a WONDERFULTIME!!! Took 88yr. old mother in a wheelchair, we sat alongside young and older people and EVERYBODY smiled! Customer’s service from the ticket booth, and throughout the grounds was excellent, bathrooms clean and accessible, The acts were ASTOUNDING, and the prices were affordable.(They need better hot dogs, though). GO and make plans for next year! This is an awesome family treat!

How the reviews are so bad, I just don’t know. I thought this was a great time for children and adults alike. The performers kept everyone entertained, including me which is hard to do(trust me). From the opening act of ice skaters to the — tight rope walkers to the — dancing poodles to the — audience soul train line(even though there’s someone planted in there) to the — tumblers to the — rope performers to the — (you get my drift), I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, there does have to be some downfalls, especially when it comes to the exotic animals. I just can’t support and cheer for wild animals trained to do tricks and living on the road without being able to run free. It reminds me of the movie Happy Feet when(beware of spoiler alert) he thinks he’s free only to realize he’s stuck in a zoo. Let’s just say that was a breakdown moment for me. So, this may not be for every type of audience member, but if you’re looking for fun, some soul, and some great performances for an affordable price, this is the place to go. I just wish I had found out about this place earlier, but alas, I will wait a year to see it when it comes back to Chicago.

Many countries have banned live animal circuses. Universoul Circus would be even better without them. Like Cirque de Soleil.
