Uma is great! She is so sweet and caring. I came in for help with a saree blouse — I had all of the materials but needed the blouse made. She gave me advice, measured me and had the blouse made promptly and professionally.

I am not Indian but was attending an Indian wedding and had been asked to wear a saree. As luck would have it, a friend of mine was in India and bought a beautiful saree for me, but when I got it, I had no idea how to wear it or what to do with it! I went to Uma Sarees and Uma was a godsend! She measured me and set me up with a custom-​sewn blouse, a petticoat, and jewelry, and she showed me how to wear it. She could have easily said, «You bought the saree somewhere other than my shop, why should I help you?» But instead she was warm and friendly — and so much help! The wedding was yesterday and my saree was a hit. Thanks, Uma! Highly recommended.

I had an amazing experience with Uma! She is so sweet and a very genuine person. She helped me find an appropriate outfit for an event. She was very generous with her pricing and was not pushy at all. Showed me how to wear certain things and was just so friendly. She even gave me and my husband a hug before we left! I can’t say enough positive things about Uma and her husband. I have no desire to shop else wear on Devon– we will be solely giving her our business from now on.

I bought two different outfits here. After going on Devon street many ones and bartering with the other boutiques who left me absolutely exhausted every time Uma’s was AMAZING. I’m so sad I’m moving to NYC or I would get all my outfits here. All of her outfits were fairly priced, unlike most of the other shops down the street. Uma and her husband were so helpful and sweet. Genuinely good people and I could tell they actually cared about my price point and what I wanted. The fabric was good too! Love this place and wish I would have found it sooner.

Best sari shop on Devon, especially for a newbie customer. Owner Uma was very helpful and so friendly! She didn’t hesitate to explain the outfits and even showed me how to wear them. Great quality fabrics and a generous price range — something for everyone. I will DEFINITELY be back!
