Turkey Chop

Glad I’ve found this place & its on blocks from my house… smothered turkey chops, mac & cheese w cabbage was a hit!!!

LOVE.
Not only is the food delicious and the staff amazing, Turkey Chop also gives back significantly to the community in both money and by feeding those in need. It’s almost kind of hard to not want to support a business doing so much good, especially since the food and service is also phenomenal.
The only caveat is if you’re in a hurry, since the food does take a while to come out. But frankly, you should just bump whatever you need to do because that jerk chicken wrap deserves priority.

Great food, great staff. Met the owner, couldn’t have been nicer. Looking forward to coming back here often.

Never order through groupon for delivery or period. We waited almost 2 hours before I finally called. They never even prepared our order because they were busy. The only good thing is that groupon gave me a $ 10 voucher. Oh and I got a full refund. Again, never order food for delivery

Really good food — the service was quick. I ordered ahead of time — the meat was juicy, the mac and cheese is to die for!

Nice spot to eat at. Was in the area visiting a church and this place was recommended for their soul food. I had the turkey tips with cabbage and macaroni and cheese. It was a bit pricey at $ 12 for the portion sizes but part of their proceeds go to soup kitchen so I can’t complain with that. The mac & cheese was okay. A bit runny and a little salty but still good. Cabbage was good. Tips were a little better than good. Tips had a great flavor, well seasoned and just the right amount of bbq sauce. Others had the turkey chops with mashed potatoes and collard greens, turkey meatloaf, and jerk wrap. Everyone enjoyed their food with no leftovers accept for the meatloaf person because they do give you a huge portion of meatloaf. Even though their meals are a bit high, they have burgers and wraps for $ 5. I would definitely try this place again. I really appreciate that they advertise helping and giving back to the community.

The food at the restaurant is amazing, people are nice and friendly, and i love that the owner gives free food back to the community an Monday’s everything about Turkey Chop is simply WONDERFUL.

Let me preface by saying I get to work in the community and I’m a big supporter of their efforts and mission to give West Humboldt Park residents access to healthy meals and a great place to eat!
All Turkey Chop employees are great people and you feel like they are there because they want to be.
Food: I ordered off the lunch menu a burrito with Jerk Chicken. It was a California-​style burrito and it did pack some heat, but I really enjoyed it! A suggestion would be to allow some add-​ins for the burrito (avocado, etc.).
I give five stars based on the food and mission and service. This place really is great to see on this part of Chicago ave. Hope to have more options in the area.

The food is delicious. The customer service is good. Dont come here if you’re starving tho because they do take a little longer than most places to make your food.

Food is really good. They run out of items off the menu fairly quickly so go at the beginning of the week. Their dine in service needs some work. Staff isn’t always the friendliest. Their portions are huge and definitely recommend the Mac and cheese. Almost all their items are amazing. I will definitely be back just taking my order to go next time.

Not a good experience at all ! Worst delivery service ever ! So I found turkey chop online due to its good ratings & reviews I thought I would give it a shot & was very excited. Everything started from ordering over the phone.
When ordering the meal it gave me an option of two sides & corn bread, but they were all out of corn bread so I asked if could substitute it for something else & they said no I didn’t have that option I would just lose out on the bread. So I chose my 2 sides of fries & Mac n cheese.
So after they told me my order would be delivered «within» the hour, 2 hours passed and I hadn’t received a call from them so I took it upon myself to call them & see what the status of my order was. A man answered & said «don’t worry your order will be there soon, our delivery had 2 orders to deliver» so when I asked them if my food was going to be cold he answered & said «I hope not» never apologizing for the delay .
Once the food arrived my drink was all watered down from the ice melting. I opened my food while the delivery driver was here to discover my fries were cold & soggy! I was very upset after waiting 2 hours !hot drink & cold food is not what I anticipated .
So I refused the food & asked to speak to management for a refund. The delivery person then told me I would have to call them. I put the delivery driver on the line (had phone on speaker) the manager was rude said «there’s nothing I can do about it, you either want the food or not»
Fast forward. I chose NOT. When discussing my refund I asked how long would it take for me to receive my funds on my card he said by the end of that same day .
Forwarding. I had to call the NEXT day to due to no refund being processed. Management then rudely spoke to me in an angry manner saying «don’t worry you’ll get your money». Due to being unable to process the refund a delivery person was sent out to give me my refund cash the next day!
After all of this I chose to get a meal elsewhere! I would not recommend this place none the less delivery

Im here twice a week at least. The 2 for $ 5 jerk tacos are very tasty and spicy. I also get the $ 9.99 jerk dinner with dirty rice and mashed potatoes (some of the peel is in it). You can pretty much order anything off the menu and be satisfied though.

I had the pleasure of visiting Turkey Chop this week with my family. The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the turkey chops with sweet potatoes and dirty rice. When I tell you it was better than any pork chop I have ever eaten it is definitely no lie. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection.
My boyfriend had the turkey tips with mac and cheese and roasted vegetables. His only complaint was he was mad at himself for not getting an extra order.
I ordered the patty melt and fries for my son and it was delicious. Seasoned, juicy, cooked to perfection. The fries tasted as if they were homemade.
If you are wondering rather or not you should give this place a try the answer is simply… Absolutely! Not only is the food here delicious but on Mondays they close the business to the public to feed the homeless.

I came to Turkey Chop for the first time on 07÷18÷14 with my youngest son for dinner. I was referred there by a friend of mine. And I am SO GLAD I followed up on his recommendation!!! Turkey Chop is AMAZING!!! The food is EXCELLENT!!! The atmosphere is AWESOME. And the staff is WONDERFUL!
I had the turkey tips with sauteed spinach and corn. And my son had grilled shrimp with mac&chees and sweet pototoes. The Jamaican punch was nice as well; he loved it.
Everything was so good, I could not wait until my oldest son got back in town the following Saturday so I could take him. We went that Saturday and he had the Texas turkey burger and fries. HE CLEANED HIS PLATE!
I definitely recommend Turkey Chop as an alternative for those who does not eat beef or pork. This makes eating out so much easier! You can NOT go wrong with Turkey Chop.

A little Pre Thanksgiving Turkey!
Okay, let me start this review by not thanking Groupon for this deal.
Geez, Groupon, I thought we were on a roll, a real meeting of the minds going
on here…
Today that was pretty much squashed!
Now, I have eaten at the other up and coming turkey restaurant, and I found
that one to be 4 gobble worthy.
And. I really wanted to like this place because it has the nicest young woman
named Crystal working there and she was working really hard and was nice to
everyone.
So, this review is absolutely no reflection on Crystal…
However, we started off on a bad foot when I pretty much came to Turkey Chop
today because I was craving Turkey Spaghetti and I was told due to a large
catering order they had this morning they had no more spaghetti.
Well, that pretty much sucked big time because thats what I really wanted but I
now had to find a substitution.
So, I decided on these Honey Q’d Turkey Tips and Some Turkey Chili.
And I was offered my choice of 2 sides with the turkey tips and I chose garlic
mashed potatoes and Italian style green beans, the sides were fantastic, the
turkey tips were horrible.
There were pieces of bones and gristle and fat??(Where the hell did the fat come
from on that turkey?) and I actually wound up throwing most of it away.
The turkey chili I thought had more promise but it was extremely/​hot spicy
and that kind of threw me.
Also had 2 pieces of garlic bread that had way too much garlic salty stuff on it,
Warning to any vampires. Turkey Chop has lotsa garlic. stay away. or enter
at your own risk!
The restaurant interior is quite small, but there are about 8 tables, and they have
some lovely artwork on the walls, and. they have Crystal.
But, I will not be returning most likely, because for the most part except
for the phenominal sides this was not a good dining experience.
2 gobbles is the best I can do.
So disappointed…

Turkey Chop caters to those looking for beef and pork alternatives. I was invited as a food blogger, and I had a chance to try a number of dishes, including the Turkey Chops, the Turkey Tips, Sautéed Spinach (which was prepared like greens), Sweet Potatoes, Dirty Rice, and Peach Cobbler for Dessert. (I’m surprised that I didn’t instantly fall asleep after eating all of this food!)
They really go all out with the Turkey Chops (like smothered pork chops) and the Turkey Tips, which were my absolute favorite. If you like rib tips, then you will love the turkey tips — they are grilled, and they are very well seasoned and are served with a tangy and delicious bbq sauce.
Turkey Chop caters, so I can definitely see the turkey tips showing up on one of my party menus in the future. The prices are also very good — the turkey burgers were only $ 5 and they looked like they would definitely fill you up. The other thing that I loved is that they had cornbread, but it was prepared like a pancake. I’ve never had cornbread this way, and I really enjoyed it — vey innovative! I’ll be back…

I was so excited to try this restaurant! I was so extremely disappointed with the service I couldn’t even give the food a chance.
At first the order was only 15 minutes late to be delivered. Which is okay, that happens, but when I walked outside to retrieve it the delivery person discovered they brought the wrong order. Then, I heard nothing from them for 20 more minutes. Then I get a call that they are cooking the food again. Which was a nice gesture if it would have been done in a timely manner.
Fast forward. The food was an hour and 45 minutes late. When it finally came they didn’t even have the food in a bag so immediately I lost the fork. That was just so strange to not have it be in a back because there were various sauces that came with it.
I will not order again from this restaurant and frankly the food was not very good. And even though they cooked it again (supposedly) not warm at all.
Maybe it’s a better in restaurant experience because again i was so excited to try this restaurant because of the positive reviews here. I just can’t imagine giving this restaurant a second chance.

I was really excited to read in the newspapers and online about the owner of Turkey Chop opening a NEW place along Chicago Avenue in West Humboldt Park. I dined in here a few weeks ago with a friend and the service was great and the prices were very very cheap. The food was really really tasty– I think I had the best spinach quesadilla I ever had. Also their peach cobbler was fantastic. I am really hoping that this place will stay around for a long, long time! My friend really enjoyed her food too. Their fries are fresh cut and everything is very healthy and tasty. I would totally go back!

Second time here and both times it was great. Whatever you do, definitely get the sweet potatoes and mac-​n-​cheese! Both are amazing. The fried shrimp was also delicious. Great addition to our neighborhood!
