I can’t help but think I was fleeced. I’ve shopped at Indian stores all over the place, and I left this one feeling like they’d gotten the better of me. Out of all the clothing shops I popped into on Devon, this one seemed to have the most interesting selection. I was all set to buy just one salwaar-kameez when I made the mistake of mentioning that I’m getting married soon. Suddenly the woman behind the counter was my new best friend and I was buying three outfits. D’oh! Yes, they are cute, but when I asked what the material of one of them was, she said, «It’s so lovely… almost like silk!» «Um…ALMOST like silk, or actual silk?» «Hmmm…no. It’s not really silk.» The two ladies who worked there kept giving each other the side-eye, which means I definitely paid too much for my rayon(or whatever they are) creations, but oh well. They are nice outfits. And they tailored them for free in 45 minutes(another sign I overpaid).
