The new tin lizzie is awesome. Great drink specials bartender Joe is awesome. Super sparten/detroit/michigan friendly. Microbrew selection is huge. Red Wing games should only be washed here! Owner Jenny cares immensely about making cool events here. Cant wait to bring the food truck here!

Kinda sucks reading all the bad reviews from people who make TL out to be more than it is. It’s a Michigan State/general Michigan sports bar with good prices and decent food. What more can you ask for? I’m coming here to watch a Wings game and not blow my wallet out. The fact that it’s not haute cuisine or trendy inside is the least of my concerns.

Strangely bright and awkward. Staff was great and drinks were fine, but zero ambience.

We came here on a Friday night while I was visiting a friend in Chicago. For $ 24, you were able to get unlimited food and drink between 5pm-8pm or 5pm-9pm, I can’t quite remember. You also were given 4 tickets that were to be used during… Tin Lizzie’s turtle racing competition! That’s right, Tin Lizzie held a turtle racing competition consisting of 4 rounds. There were 4 competing turtles that were placed in the middle of a circle. The first turtle to fully exit the circle was the winner and anyone who had placed their ticket in that turtle’s betting bucket won a free shot. I think this is quite possibly the most genius drinking event I have ever experienced and I think bars across the nation should take note(if they haven’t already). After the turtle racing competition, the bar filled up pretty quickly with fans of the Detroit Red Wings. I noticed it here a lot more than back home that certain bars were known for supporting certain athletic teams. I think it’s a cool concept. All in all, I had a really good time here and I liked that the bar added a little something extra to my experience with the turtles :)

Probably the best State and decent Detroit sports bar in the city of Chicago. Good food — including Coneys — and got to love those game day mugs. I think I’ve long lost my MSU and Lions mugs, but there were countless good memories at this bar.

Stood outside to smoke my e-cig before going in. When I pulled my ID out, the bouncer began to tell me I was not allowed in. He said he saw me pacing, of which I was smoking my e-cig… so yes, sir, I was trying to stay warm in 28 degree weather. I proceeded to tell my friend that I was going home. He picked me up and threw me on the ground screaming that I wasn’t allowed in because«he said so.» Unless you want swollen elbows by some bouncer who loves to hold the power card over you, DON’T GOHERE. Sucks because I’m an MSU alum too… Go blue, I guess?

Came here early-ish on a Saturday night and was surprised by how few people there were. Decent prices for beer and food, which is what we wanted, so no issues there. Good music, GREAT pizza and cheese bread, looked like the beginnings of a fun crowd. Would definitely do back

Favorite MSU bar in the city, hands down. I can’t decide what it is about this place that does it for me, but I think honestly that it reminds me a little of Ricks back in good old East Lansing. I also never go there for one drink, I go for 20 so I think that’s another part of the appeal. Can’t go wrong with a bunch of fellow Spartans drinking way too much out of huge mugs and a crowd that gets excited about every single play. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a game with fellow MSU/Lions/Tigers/Wings fans and not remember much of it the next day. Decent drink specials, tasty bar snacks and a crowd that reminds me of the funnest four years of my life. Go green!

Came here for the blackhawks game. Originally was supposed to go to Gaslight but that place was packed we couldn’t get a table. So we came here, pretty empty but no worries with the 10 of us well have a good time just keep the drinks coming and Volume high! But that was not the case. We got the coors light specials, instead of having to order 8 – 10 at a time we asked to order buckets. Our server said we don’t do buckets here. Really? Every bar has ice and beer all you need to do is put that in a bucket. Its more convenient for us, the bar and server to save time, plus easier to carry then a tray of 8 bottles? As we kept drinking the place got packed. I swear our server might have been the only server there. She worked hard and was great but this place is deff understaffed. Were they expecting it to be dead during the Stanley cup? The food took a very long time to come, and when it came the pizza was burnt. We asked for crushed red pepper, by the time we got that we finished the burnt pizza from pure hunger. The«Coney dog was bland and disappointing. If your in this area there are SOOOMANYOTHEROPTIONS, don’t settle here.

Outstanding bar to watch a game for the Detroit Lions or MSU Spartans. The owner Anthony is from Michigan as are some the staff. The beers are ice cold and tasty at this excellent sopt in Lincoln Park. Greta atmosphere and sound system, this is a must do spot!

My friend workd here so my bff’s and I decided to check the place out. When I first walked in, I noticed the place smells like feet, kinda like a skating rink, that didn’t really bother me, probably because I had been drinking/tipsy or maybe I just really wanted to see my friend. The drinks were great, my friend was great. Second, several fights broke out, wtf, people. we stayed maybe an hour. I would go back… maybe

Fun place to hang out on the weekends. Nice, younger crowd, and very good music. But sometimes the place is dead even on the weekend, so it’s a matter of getting lucky with the crowd. The drinks are good; dance floor is quite a bit of fun when there is a crowd.

Friday night turtle races were awesome. The $ 25 cover was definitely worth the all you can drink beer, although the food provided was just slightly above edible. But the real reason to go is the turtles. They are so cute and move at their own pace. Recommended for a fun night out and a real Chicago experience.

Met my roommate and his buddy down here last night – they were there watching the Tigers and Wings games – and when they were over, they were nice enough to put on the Royals/Angels game for me. Very hospitable considering it’s arguably the biggest Detroit bar in Chicago.

Went there for a friends bday. The bar was a little run down, which really wasn’t a big deal. But the one guy bartender with the shady blond hair cut was very rude and obnoxious. Had a question about being over charged and he exploded and tried to get a bouncer to kick us out. Had to call the next day to dispute the charges with someone more rational and reasonable. Long story short, don’t go there!!! So many other bars with much better customer service and better atmosphere to choose from

On the banks of the Red Cedar, There’s a school that’s known to all… For Michigan State alums or fans that are looking for a Grand River type of bar, Tin Lizzie is your spot. Cheap drinks, bar food and good times. Detroit Tigers fans are welcome as well as the owner is a MSU alum and diehard Tiger fan(one out of two ain’t bad). Make sure you get the Coney Island dogs. They’re only $ 3 dollars and some days you may even luck out and get a special. I recently visited Tin Lizzie for their anniversary party and everything was $ 1(well drinks, beer, hot dogs). But just stopping in there any day or night to catch a game, and you won’t be disappointed. For the recent grads, this will remind you exactly of your college days.

Oh Tin Lizzie. If you’re a Michigan State fan or alumni and want a crazy good time on gameday, definitely you have to try Tin Lizzie. What other bar has jello shots for every touchdown? This isn’t a classy place, it’s the closest thing you’ll get to a college Michigan State bar in Chicago. The food is what you’d expect, typical bar food– nothing special. I wouldn’t waste my calories on it, I’d rather have the calories on the beer. They have a good selection and usually have great deals for Michigan state games. I actually collect Michigan State bugs from this place. Oh and Fridays sometimes they have turtle races! This place is the place to come if you want a crazy fun time for a game.

Meh. Douche central. If you want to go to a dive bar with a fun, non-douchey atmosphere and a great drinks list with decent bar food, why the hell would you go here?

I relived my college days here this week. Went here on a Tuesday night and by midnight it was packed with college kids home for summer break lol. It was a fairly typical pub bar with a few added amenities. They had a basketball hoop in the corner, a stage with poles for pole dancing, a beer pong table, and turtle races. The turtle races were funny — mine lost really badly, but losers get a shot too! My friend got super wasted and they were still nice to us, so I’d have to say the service is very nice as well! I really had a good time here and would definitely come back!

When I read reviews which list this bar as «neighborhoodsy» or «dive», I immediately wonder if we visited the same place. It’s a bar in LP on Lincoln ave yeah? Newish looking interior and exteriors. Wide garage door type window which is open during the warmer months? Yes. It’s hardly a dive and definitely not your typical neighborhood type bar. It’s moderately clean and the bar has some free to roam space from the door to the back area. This bar is a random stop for me. A very, very out of the«green» kind of stop. The kind which could occur when I have the random MSU grad within the group and once they’ve had their eye fill of raucous Michigan booty shakin’ on the dance floor we head to somewhere, more our feel. On weekends it’s a lot of the booty shaking tracks of the 80s and 90s. Cheap beer is being drunken by younger twenty something bodies. Find packs of girls dancing together and frat boys onlooking. P. s. to management: Dividers are necessary in any Men’s room where urinals are available. Most times, guys won’t go quickly or prefer not to allow other guys to inspect their junk. An investment of a little less than fifty dollars for 2 — 3 dividers between the urinals would speed up wait times. Your welcome.
