My brother went back to this place today and this is what he said happen. He said that when he was about to order the man with glasses was going to take his order and he told the man that he didn’t want him to take the order. Then a lady who works there, I guess she is the one in charge, took his order and my brother told her what happened last week with my order. Then another cook there remembered what happened last week and said my brother was right. The lady then asked why we didn’t come back, and he said because we live far. Then surprisingly she gave my brother the money I overpaid. I am surprised because not many places would refund your money after a week.

Visited at 12:15pm on a Saturday. The place was hopping with no empty seats at the counter and a line three deep; all eyes were on the soccer match on TV. The trompo was in use but there was a holding area for the al pastor on the grill. It seemed like merely a brief hold due to their steady turnover. I saw the spit whittled away at twice while I was there. A basket of lonely looking jalapeños begged for snacking while I waited patiently for my tacos. A good combination of crispy, fatty, juicy bits and a few dried out pieces produced a great contrast of texture. A tasty steal at $ 2.00/taco and well worth the 15 minute wait. They have a small parking lot but street parking was ample.

I finally found it in all its Taco glory! So happy this hidden gem is back up and running in the new location. I have been craving these tacos for awhile now so to find that the kitchen is open for business is amazing! Same cooks same quality authentic Mexican eats.

They’ve got great tacos here. Happy they’re kitchen is finally up and running since relocating from Armitage. Decent prices AND a parking lot. If you live around there or are in the area, definitely worth an add to the rotation.

I’ve been following this taqueria/grocery store like a desert nomad chasing after a fleeting oasis from location #1 on Ashland Avenue and Blackhawk Avenue to location #2 on Armitage and Rockwell. So when I went for my al pastor fix only to find the #2 desolate and barren, I was afraid I would be left without life’s sustenance. Thankfully, I was able to track these delicious, delicious tacos to location #3 now on North Avenue and Spaulding Avenue. I stopped off on Sunday but alas I was to early to the party. Food service was set to start on Monday, January 25th so stay tuned folks. And if you make it in before me, please confirm that their quality has continued. Look for the blue building on the northeast corner of North and Spaulding.

I used to love this local Taco joint but we can’t find the new location! Where is it?
