The Wine Huntress

My wife and I became members of the wine huntress after visiting with my niece. The concept is simple, allow members to taste a variety of wines, 24 a week, in an elegant, comfortable setting. The owner, Susan, is an excellent sommelier who is willing to sit and talk with members about the wines available in the shop, as well as wines the guests may have tasted elsewhere. She is ably assisted by the shop manager, Nicole, who is a fine sommelier in her own right. As a member, you have the opportunity to step up to the state of the art wine dispenser and purchase 1 oz tastes of the 24 wines available. The tastes vary in price from $ 1-​$ 9 per depending on the bottle price of the wine. Wines are available for purchase at a very low mark-​up. Generally, Susan’s wine is 5−10% less than the average price on Vivino. As a member, you are entitled to take your purchases over to the Kinzie Chop House, next door, and enjoy them sans corkage fee. Members also receive a 10% discount on their overall bill at Kinzie. Wine Huntress is a great concept, well planned and perfectly executed! If you are able, go!!!

I came here the other night with my husband and our friends. My girlfriend and her other half are members here, so they had raved about it enough to merit a visit!
To put things simply: There is a wine vending machine. It is awesome, and delicious wine, and the owner changes the wines out frequently. You put an amount of money on your wine tasting card and then use it to sample an ounce each of various wines.
Then, you can choose a wine — everything is very reasonably priced, so we had no problem buying a few bottles and then paying the corkage fee at the steakhouse we went to dinner at. It was easy, affordable, and most importantly, the ambiance was great. The owner sets out little bites of food to taste, there is a nice high top table for groups and conversation, and a lounge area. If you’re up for it, there are also lots of trinkets (including like 30 flavors of olive oil, like bacon olive oil) for sale.
