I got a sew-in done here about three years ago that was the only time things went smoothly. The last two times I’ve been at this location in Chatham on 87th Street & Cottage Grove. 1st of all the when I took my hair down the girl was like oh wow. Instant turn off– like it was more hair than she expected and didn’t feel like being bothered. Then the girl racked through my hair like there was a weave in it already which is a no no considering my hair is thick and natural at the roots. She then said do u have oil and conditioner in ur hair? At first I said no– then I said yea castor oil. She said oh naww we might not be able to do ur hair let me check with ur stylist. Then she asked me if I had an appointment or if I was a walk in? I said walk in and and she walked away. Next thing I know it was two of them in my head examining how much oil and dry scalp I had… Picking in it like a darn bird picks for food LMAO!!! The other lady said yea u have too much oil in ur hair. I said yes I know I have oil in my hair that’s what I use; I’m on a hair journey. She said yes but it might not blend well and I said that cool I’m just here for u to install the weave. I told her I would worry about how it looks when it comes time to blend. The lady who was supposed to braid my hair asked me how long had I been on my hair journey? I told her 3 years. She replied snidely«Oh, my hair was longer then that by then.» Then they just walked away and left me sitting there. Didn’t say we can’t do ur hair… Didn’t say we would have to wash ur hair again in order to service u… Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Just left me sitting there like a dog being chained to a gate. I brushed my hair back up into a ponytail walked out the door and sat in my truck to write this review immediately. Maybe I can save someone else from wasting their time.

Let me start by saying, the customer service is definitely TOBEDESIRED! I had originally gone there on Friday(walk in day) called the young lady I was referred to telling her I was In route. I got there at 4:30 just for the receptionist at the desk to say we’re not taking anymore walkins because they only had one braider. Didn’t have the energy to argue as the girl I called said nothing! So, I go back Saturday morning. The receptionist(with her little ugly self) asked if I had ever been there before I said yes I was here yesterday and you guys had one braider. She replies; I wasn’t here!(Where’s the empathy) With all the attitude! I waited About 30 minutes then the young lady I requested braided my hair And sewed it in. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because the young lady did An excellent job! However, they kinda nickel and dime you and you don’t feel like a valued customer! Matter of fact retrain all your receptionist! And suggest exercising empathy and it won’t hurt to smile especially when you’re ugly!

I had gone to the Weave Shop many times and waited and waited but new to the weave industry, I thought it a great concept. When I arrived 18 minutes late for an appointment, I was told I was cancelled after 15 minutes and could not be seen. My pleading since I was getting on a plane for my sister’s wedding, was heard upon a very cold and uncaring managers ears and NOTHING was done to help my plight. There was no notice to me that my appointment would be canceled or this 15 minute rule, no attempt to see if another stylist could help me since this was a critical issue for me, no referral to another stylist or shop or no courtesy call to me to even mention that my appointment would be cancelled. Horrible customer service, they will never, ever see another dime from me. I was fortunate enough to walk-in to Hair Issues on 39th and Cottage Grove and was seen by a lovely stylist named Desiree. I would recommend you ask for her. My weave was fabulous, cheaper and much, much more customer friendly! Go to Hair Issues

I specifically made an appointment because I do not like to play a game of chance when I go for a service. My time is valuable. So My appointment was at 11am. I was also admonished that if I did not arrive by 11:15am, my appointment would be canceled. Well imagine my surprise that when I arrived at 11:05 they were no where close to serving me. They said they were short staffed and behind. Well how about telling me that when I called. Ok. So I run a few errands to give them time. Two hours later they still were not ready. They needed at least another hour. That means I would wait three hours later than my appointment time just to get started. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. What is the purpose of a freaking appointment if the costumer has to wait 3hours to start the service. I know you get what you pay for. But hey, I was getting the $ 98 service! This was a complete waste of my days and I am very upset. I will not go back.

I called to ask a question about a service to determine if I was going to get it or not. I was told by the receptionist that they didn’t know the answer and I’d have to speak directly to the stylist who doesn’t come in until later. I called back later after she was supposed to be in and then was told that I have to come in and speak to her, she is not allowed to come to the phone. It looks like the weave shop lost my business and their lack of customer service is going to keep them in their«shop» mentality. Some people don’t have the ability to drop whatever they are doing just to come in to ask one simple question that will determine if they will give their business or not. They need to keep in mind that not every one of their potential customers live around the corner and have nothing else to do but get their hair done.

Never going back again. Also the woman who was suppose to do my hair spent the time that I was getting my hair braided standing outside the shop and arguing very loudly with someone on her cell phone in the shop window so everyone could see her. Then later on the woman who braided my hair received bad news about her family and proceeded to not cry but wail in a side room so that the whole shop could hear. Also, they nickle and dime you so much that you go in wanting to spend on 50 $ and leave spending 130 $. :(

Awful customer service. Inital price quoted was changed midstream after I was well not the process. Actully, the name of the business is very misleading, $ 50 dollar weave is somethikng you can fo yourself. No licenses were posted in view to the customers. Zi ould say to all just stay away. Just as a side net all of the stylist have bad weaves so that should be your first clue.

Can you say terrible? I want to start off by saying the customer service is horrible. There is receptionist by the name of Toria who answers the phone and says something so fast you cant understand her. Before getting any words out your on hold. 5 and 10 minute holding without ever getting back to the phone. The customer service is so terrible I wouldnt step foot in the place just because of it. They need help

Finally got a weave that I am proud to rock and has lasted more than two weeks! The ladies were all professional, which the exception of the receptionist… she loves her some trey songz and keeps the radio blasted when he comes on… lol, guess I can’t blame her. I forgot the stylist name who originally did my hair, she was good at the structure, but not so great at cutting or styling(I got the 98 option). My hair was also braided too tight and I couldn’t move my neck(that’s not funny… lol). So i went back three days later and Tiffany fixed the braids, cut an edgy layered bob, added a few tracks for volume and gave me great tips on how to keep my hair moisturized without adding too much product to the weave. I am rough with my weave, I don’t tie it down at night, don’t really take care of it, so I go in for the washing and extension repair. I stick with the same stylist and my hair has been up for two months now… woot woot. Previously, the weaves barely lasted past two weeks. I’m def a fan and ready for a new weave! My suggestion, be careful with the braiders and voice your opinion if it is too tight(you should never feel tension or have redness this leads to balding). My advice, make an appointment during the week, early morning or afternoon or be prepared to wait forever. Lastly, be aware of the«add-on» services. You pay extra for different braiding techniques, for a net and for different styles. I always get the 98, but had to pay extra for circle braiding, body curls and extra tracks(they only sew-in about 10 tracks, the rest is 7 extra).
