ok let me clear this up for everyone! these 5ks are fun runs and they clearly say run/walk.so generally these fun runs are not for the serious athlete, they are to have fun! so yes there will be children… and there should be. its a good thing these kids want to get out. even if it is walking! im not going to miss out on this event because im an only mother and never can find anyone to watch my child… nor will i hire someone i dont know with all this child abuse going on. so be all means. if families come together. thats amazing. and it makes me sick that people whine and bitch that there are kids and people are walking and there are strollers. so what! get over it. youre an adult yes? so act like it. its not the end of the world… if u want to run with no kids and no one walking… go do a 10k or a 5k that is not intended to be fun or for families. because thats what ur gunna get here… families kids walkers and strollers… its no big deal it really isnt and shouldnt be. are there supposed to be no 5ks for walkers to do? my god then i better stop now… because if i run too long i get headaches. and not because im not active. im at the gym every day… my body just cant handle intense activities… i have genetically high blood pressure since i was 20… theres nothing i can do about it… so wah wah waaahhhh. be a grown up keep ur mouth shut be happy. or dont do fun runs. go do a marathon or something

This should be called«The Glo Walk». Absolutely annoying for runners! Most of the people walk all the way and they don’t even care about keeping to one side so runners can pass by. Running etiquette ppl! Come on! This is overall a fun event. Grab your friends, wear glowing clothes and have fun! The organizers of this race need to improve a lot of stuff! But overall, it was just a «race» and I could feel the burn coming back to me! First 5k in a year!

I thought this 5k run was going to be a lot more fun than it turned out to be. I was really pumped for this and had been looking forward to it for months. I think it was also overpriced for what it was. Packet Pick up was the day before and the day of the race, at Fleet Feet. Packet included a tshirt(pink or gray), and a few necklace glow sticks and glasses. We arrived in Grant Park and they huddled us down by the starting line. Lots of music blasting — GREAT. Lots of energy — GREAT. What kind of sucked was that most of the trail was dead quiet(no music or rave-esque lights). There were only like 3 more marker points that had music/lights. The trail was along the lakefront — and if you’re running at NIGHT, the lamp post lights are on. Way to kill the«Glo Run» experience. The trail circles back to Lake Shore Drive and you finish right where you started — kind of stupid because then you have people walking back up the same path while you are trying to finish the trail, i.e. traffic problems. This had lots of kids also running. Which, I’m not entirely opposed to, but they kind of get in the way when they just want to walk. There were lots of people who just walked it as well. There was one water station only. At the end of the race, they gave us bottled water, and some snacks(fruit gummies and granola bars). My friends and I realized that you could have just ran this as well without having to register. It was a bit unorganized. And it wasn’t timed.
