don’t let the pink awning fool you! this place is the bee’s knees when you get inside. awesome chandeliers. beautiful interior. wish there was a few homages to the movie the breakfast club, but that is just the punster in me. i wasn’t really in the proper state to be enjoying mimosas or any of your typical breakfast drinks, but they seemed like they had their own fresh take on them. next time i will partake in the fun. if i have one only had one thing to say it would be –jalepeno bacon– since i get to say as much as i want i will, yay. i got the juevos rancheros, the sauce was the perfect amount of spicy, no extra hot sauce needed. the jalepeno bacon mixed in with the juevos rancheros was so goood. i left feeling very satisfied. its cash only, butttt there is not charge to use the atm. that’s bidness done right. –borland out–

A lovely little hidden gem just far enough from all the noise, but close enough to head toward when we’re in the mood for a good, no frills breakfast! I love the welcoming, unpretentious and family-run vibe of this place. There is absolutely no feeling of hip and mod at this joint and honestly that’s refreshing these days :) They do breakfast and they do it well, that’s all you really need most weekend mornings, right? My first time in I ordered the stuffed french toast in a brave attempt to cure a sweet tooth. I was very pleasantly surprised as the dish was sweet enough, but definitely not overbearing. It was the perfect balance and definitely satiated my needs. My second time around I got the bacon potato pancakes and once again was so delighted! I believe the apple sauce on the side had to be homemade, as it tasted so fresh and mildly seasoned with cinnamon. My husband’s order was the buttermilk pancakes(drooool, so good!) and second time he got the Swedish pancakes with lingonberries — again so delicious and such a fun and different menu option from most places around the neighborhood. The atmosphere is lovely, as the scent of my childhood cottage and cheap, delicious coffee fill the air. The host, servers and bussers are all so friendly and prices are reasonable(cash only). There’s a cute outdoor patio for nice summer mornings too! Try this place out and I bet you will not go only once :)

Cash only breakfast diner that my friend hyped up. We both ordered the California eggs Benedict which just adds avocados to the traditional dish. The eggs were fine and the service was okay but nothing out of the ordinary. Their mimosas were okay but at $ 10 a glass your better off ordering yourself a glass of water.

Great old family gem of a restaurant in a gentrifying bustling urban neighborhood. Very friendly and accommodating staff with excellent food and service. Your made to feel like a family member on your fist visit. Nicely covered patio seating with radiant heating for those chilly mornings. I have stopping there almost weekly on my way to meetings downtown and have never had anything short of a great meal. Try the corn beef hash benedicts or French toast for sure. Coffee’s excellent. While they stopped taking credit cards due to excessive fees, there’s a ATM next to the register.

This place was fantastic! Adorable atmosphere, delicious food and nice wait staff. It does get crowded on the weekends but it’s worth the wait!

–CASHONLY and that was NOT listed on Unilocal. –Very tight space, no place to sit or stand if waiting for a table. –Maybe if they remove that ATM machine from the entry area there would be room for ppl to wait. –We left without waiting to be seated.

The best things about Breakfast Club? Very early opening times(6:30AM during the week), and parking in back, although for the latter, we didn’t find out about that until we walked into the doorway, where the parking sign happened to be(ownership – please post this on the street corner, not in the darkened doorway!). Everything else about Breakfast Club – average food, slightly-higher-than-‘hood prices for said food, tight confines – is just fine but not up to par with your other choices nearby. For example, Flo crushes Breakfast Club in almost every way. Uncle Mike’s Place, Koko’s and Johnnie’s Snack Shop? Check, check, check. I tried the Cruz – a chorizo omelette – and it was OK, but the black beans on the side should be avoided. My friends tried other items here and while no one was raving, it sounded like the home fries should be your side of choice. My daughter pounded the pancake and bacon in her kids’ meal, and I thought the one bite of pancake I tried wasn’t bad. Shop around people!

Went here for the first time today. Had only heard good things and boy oh boy were we impressed. First off the place looks awesome inside. My girlfriend couldn’t stop talking about how cute it was. Some of the perks of this place is that there’s breakfast all day and they’re open until 5, seven days a week. Also they have 5 dollars on Tuesdays. We’ll be back to try that out. The food was delicious. We both had breakfast food. She ordered the French toast and they were the biggest pieces of French toast that I’d ever seen. They do it well too, very fluffy. I got their«Cruz» omelette which was made with chorizo, avocado and pepper jack cheese. It was delicious. It came with home fries made with green onions and red peppers, so good. The only downside for me was that pancakes weren’t an option to come with your meal. I know a lot of restaurants do that, but I had to order a short stack of pancakes. Oh well, not a big deal. Service was great. They said between 10:30 — 1:00 are their busiest hours, so I’d expect quite a wait if you come then. We’ll definitely be back soon.

As soon as my boyfriend and I arrived, we both had to give our names. You can expect to wait no more than 15 mins to be seated. We stood outside and waited. Once we were inside I noticed the wine glasses and milk bottles for a chandelir, and I thought to my self«HOWCOOLISTHAT!» Anyways we were seated and the seat were so close I felt like we were eating with the table next to us. I must admit, the servers were kind to us and very attentive. The food was delicious as well as our mimosas. Over all, it’s a cute place with good food. The only downside is that it’s almost to small to enjoy a conversation with your date.

Came here for a Saturday breakfast out with the family and loved it! The stuffed French toast was unbelievable! Also the Rumchata hot chocolate was super yummy! Friendly staff and a cute decore! They have glass milk bottles and wine glasses for chandeliers! It’s a small place that fills up fast so get there early.

We’re always looking for a new breakfast place and this week it was the Breakfast Club. Its a cute little house-like building with tables and chairs squeezed into a large room. It kinda reminds me of our Thanksgiving dinners years ago with the whole family packed into a too-small room. But don’t get the idea that’[s a bad thing, the Breakfast Club offers better food per square foot that most of the other places I’ve been. Give it a try and don’t pass on the home fries, they’re one of a kind.

I think for a weekend brunch a small neighborhood place like Breakfast Club is perfect. Food is good, generous amount, same price as everywhere else, but with it you get better hospitality and service that you would at bigger places. Food comes faster. It’s not loud so you can actually have a conversation without having to scream. My favorite is Greektown omelette. Highly recommend to all neighborhood folks.

I was excited to try this place. I’ve heard it was a cute neighborhood spot. My date and I thought it was be sweet to check it out for Valentines Day Brunch. We were sadly let down by the initial greet from the host. The place was packed and I’m assuming the host was overwhelmed by the amount of patrons. BUT its still no excuse… My date politely asked what the policy was because there was no sign saying«seat yourself» or «please wait and a hostess will seat you». The host loudly replied with a rude sarcastic tone saying«The policy is, you wait, give me your name and when a table is ready, we’ll seat you!» My date was so appalled by his tone of voice because people turned their heads to look at us. I quickly turned to him saying that was completely uncalled for and we’re leaving. Long story short. This establishment clearly doesn’t respect their patrons enough to be kind and show excellent customer service. It was a simple question and we didn’t want to assume. Do they not understand the reputation you build for yourself in the restaurant industry is everything? Never returning and I hope your host corrects his attitude.

I started coming here more than a decade ago. Before they had a bar and a liquor license. Its been a long time since I’ve been back and unfortunately I think this was my last time. If you haven’t been you should know that if you’re coming here for breakfast that its crazy packed. There’s no signage because there’s no room for a sign. You squish in and if there’s a guy up front you tell him how many in your party and hope its not a long wait. I was looking around and it seems as though they have an inefficient way of seating people. You should be ok with sitting back-to-back and right next to your neighbors. They have this strange little table in the front with cinnamon rolls and to-go cartons. I can’t tell if they’re free or what(also no sign) but I saw many, including the staff, brush the tops of those frosted rolls. There’s no way I’d eat one! We squished into a booth and were greeted by the guy with coffee. The cup that was sitting at my placemat was dirty. So that’s icky. Then we got menus and waters. In addition to adding a bar and cocktails they also hiked the prices way way up. Our breakfast without cocktails was $ 40! That’s insane! 2 coffees, pancakes & eggs should not be that much. My boyfriend ordered his eggs medium and they came(after a long wait) super soft. We didn’t get much attention from the wait staff so he didn’t sent them back but they were a runny mess. We also didn’t get refills on the water. The coffee guy came around one other time for a refill. I ordered chicken sausage with my 2X4 because I don’t eat pork. They didn’t tell me that its a $ 2 up charge. That’s ridiculous especially because the cost for chicken sausage vs. pork sausage as a side is the same($ 3.50) I hate it when they don’t give you a heads up on up charges. Also my plate had what I think was the remains of some avocado on the side of it. Another icky moment. So to recap we had dirty dishes, secret up charges, runny eggs, one glass of water, and an empty wallet. Also heads up its CASHONLY. There’s an ATM right by the cash register. Unilocal says they take credit cards but not on the day that I was there.

Amazing food and amazing staff. I seriously was kind of skeptic about this place because I never heard of it. Boy am I glad I went for breakfast with my group. They have a Carnitas eggs Benedict that will blow your mind away. Our waiter was super friendly(older Mexican man) and made our grandmother laugh many times. It was an all around great experience. We had an 11am reservation and at 11am we showed up and our table was ready(big pro) and as for the Cons… There was no Cons. Will be back for more. On behalf of the Gonzalez family thank you.

I was so happy to try this place and the first hour was so great! Our server, breakfast, and atmosphere was perfect. Half an hour later(with at least 4 other tables open) a different server comes over and SO rudely asks, «Would you like something else? Maybe you’d like to order lunch?» I understand the need to turn tables but omg, I would NEVER have said anything like that to one of my tables when I was a server or a manager. My friend, who was able to see the manager from her seat said he was staring at us so hard. I turned to see and he made me so uncomfortable. We walked out and not one person offered a ‘thank you.‘ A side note: The Unilocal page says they take cards, which I specifically checked. When we tried to pay our bill, they told us they are cash only… Ugh.

Such an adorable little hidden gem! My boyfriend stumbled upon this spot and I’m so glad he did ! He knows how much I love Brunch and I was impressed by his finding! From the Cute little hot pink awning at the entrance to the inviting outdoor patio, the cool milk carafes and wine glasses inside made into chandeliers .I knew I would love this place before I even tried the food ! The place is usually pretty busy on weekends but we have never waited for a table more than a few minutes. It beats waiting in line over a hour at Bongo Room(which is one of my favorites but sometimes you just want to eat quality breakfast food without the wait) Once inside its kinda small and seating is tight but the food and service make up for it. The bananas foster french toast is to die for and everything we have ever had with eggs has been delicious. Check out the bathroom before you go LOL There are pictures of artist/actors with food related names(EX: Kevin Bacon, Hall & Oats) Definitely a must if you want amazing breakfast food without the wait on the weekends(especially if your hungover and need to fill that belly FAST !)

0Just had a GREAT brunch here! I ordered a drink called the«Pink Awning.» It was so refreshing and delicious!!! It wasn’t very strong, though, but the flavor was amazing. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious and plentiful. Then I had the chicken n’waffles and wow. The chicken was not your traditional fried chicken. It was breaded but lightly and, man, was it tender. It complimented the waffle well because it made it easy to cut into it. My fiancée ordered the pork carnitas benedict and it was probably the best carnitas we’ve ever had. Tender, moist, and flavorful. Service was calm and friendly. There was a very mellow feel all around; staff and patrons combined. We’ll definitely be back! Thank you Breakfast Club!

I went here on a weekday with a girlfriend and had a great brunch. The staff is so friendly and will treat you like a regular. I had trouble finding parking and one of the servers helped me find a spot. They didn’t rush us out and were extremely attentive. The space is on the smaller side, but it is cozy and I love the neighborhood feel. My friend had the pancake and couldn’t finish them all but said they were delicious. I ordered a salad which was good and the price is right in line with what it should be. Overall, I will be back!
