Went here last night. I’m new in area and I got the Philly cheese steak it came with a bunch of fries and boom pink lemonade. I was so full coukd not finish all of it. Neither could my bf. But it was so good hard to stop eating it. I truly found a new spot and hours are great for us late night people. Thumbs up!!!

Check out Tastebuds and experience my new favorite comfort food, The Vegan Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich minus the cheese and mayo. I’m sure you’re wondering«Comfort food? In the summer?» All I have to say is that sometimes a guy needs to take a break from smoothies and salads to dig into some hearty, smoky, goodness. The late night location is great for a bite after having a couple of drinks. Give them a try!

Glad to see vegan food on the West Side! Take-out only. The philly steaks might have vegan«meat» but have mayo and cheese unless requested otherwise, and are bland and sort of skimpy without it, but everything seems fresh.

Yes there is vegan food in West Garfield Park. It’s a bit greasy, and sometimes they only have the seitan«chicken» and not the«steak,» but it’s there, and open late. If you do want it vegan, make sure you ask for no mayo and no cheese. You may think this is a sketchy neighborhood, but the staff and other patrons were all friendly and helpful and otherwise normal people. The staff knew what«vegan» means and hooked us up without the third degree. Apparently the vegan cheesesteaks are ordered all the time. They added it to the menu because of customer requests, so they sound pretty responsive. As I said, they were out of steak-style seitan, so for $ 8.00 I got the chicken-style cheesesteak with no mayo and no cheese, a mound of greasy fries with skins on them, and a pink lemonade. I thought the bread on the sandwich was surprisingly good: nice and soft. I would order with hot sauce on it next time though. Fries were not that great, but with ketchup and salt were fine. The pink lemonade was very sweet, pretty much like Kool-aid. They have no seating other than what’s chained off. You have to eat standing up at the counters, or take it to the park or something. I don’t think they had public restrooms either.

Ok folks… this is a very small hip joint that is constantly packed and is open late!!! Yes after 4am on weekends! The kind of place that is not for the weak or ignorant… it has it’s culture and could’ve been in a better neighborhood… but the Philly Cheese Steak sandwhich is to die for… You have to order only one thing from here… «The Best of Both Worlds»! It’s a combination of a Philly Cheese Steak /Chicken Sandwhich with Fries(Cheese is extra). I’ve been to a few so call famous Philly Cheese Steak shops in Philidelphia, PA but this tops them all and it’s right here in Chicago! If you really want a sandwhich that will knock you socks off, you must try this at least once! You will not be disappointed! Total Cost for the meal 10.00 Cash!
