I usually order from here each week, on Saturday or Sunday. This restaurant has always had consistently good food that is delivered in a timely manner. Not this time. I ordered a steak burrito dinner and 5 tacos. The burrito meat was hard like rocks as if they used yesterday’s meat. The rice and beans were awful. When a restaurant loses their consistency, they will always lose their customers. Just like they’ve lost this one.

Good prices and good portions! Tried a pambazos for the first time and it was excellent.

I went there on my 24th birthday with my friends. This was hands down one of the best value-for-money Mexican restaurants I have ever been too. With a great selection of authentic food, they have a great chef back in the kitchen! It is BYOB so you can get your own poison to go well with the food. The beans and rice here are to die for. I had the tortas and I am not exaggerating when I say that all my friends heard the crunch of the bread as I bit into it. All in all, great place for affordable Mexican noms.

This is a cute little place with a relatively small dining room. I ordered the Burrito Suizo Chicken and it was fantastic and huge. Overall this place is pretty much exactly what I would expect from a small Chicago Mexican restaurant. The waitress was quiet but fun and sweet. I had left my food on the table when we left the restaurant and as I was getting in my car she ran out to hand it to me. Will definitely be coming back.

This place is SUCH a good deal! They have a bunch of $ 1 tacos, and tortas for a little over $ 5. The tortas are delicious, and they are also unexpectedly big. One torta will probably be enough to fill you up. 4 tacos is also just about enough to make you very full. All of the meats are good. I tried the pastor and chorizo meats, and they are both quite succulent. Chips and salsa are provided free of charge. Service is great.

Awesome taqueria! Love it! Fast service and awesome tacos! Try the tripe tacos they are the best ones even if they arent in the $ 1 menu… also any of the $ 1 tacos are amazing as well.

Can’t beat their $ 1 tacos! Caldo is good too! Nice place & employees. TV is really loud though, sometimes I have to raise my voice over the phone to order. Eat here a bunch with family :)

I always enjoy this place. They have good Al Pastor and inexpensive tacos. BYOB. Some of their stuff is made with fresh masa, like the gorditas.

The food is AMAZING, the service is WONDERFUL, staff and waitresses are a DELIGHT. WILLBEBACK, LOVETHISPLACE! We had burritos, rice and beans and nachos with ground beef. It was SOOOODELICIOUS and very reasonably priced. Our waitress was the nicest woman in the world. It was clean and quaint and just a joy. Made our evening perfect. If you’re thinking about going, GO!

Been to this joint a couple of times. Never dissappointed. Typical but very good Tacqueria, with small double wrapped Tacos for only $ 1. Meat choices are all good — usually we get a couple of each. And, of course, they give you free Chips and Salsa. And, best of all, it’s BYOB. Definately Recommended.

Awesome food! Better prices! I got the dollar tacos; beef, chorizo, chicken, pork and the steak($ 2). So all this with chip and salsa, served with red and verde salsa(which was spicy and really good) and soda $ 11!!! The food was easily 4 stars but the price makes this place 5 stars! Parking was also easy on a Thursday night ~7:30pm.

$ 1 tacos, sure they’re little, but you can try all the different kinds and get lots of them, and everything is just delicious. Chips and salsa and refritos were all great, too, which is a good sign when the little things are also done well. Need to explore the menu, there’s lots more to try.

Best Mexican Food in Rogers Park. Concerning standard tacos, burritos, enchiladas, etc… The steak, chorizo, and pork are amazing and all dirt cheap. All eat in orders come with free chips and two kinds of salsa.

Was here for lunch and got a chorizo quesadilla with corn tortilla($ 4.25) and a $ 1 steak taco. So, so good and so worth it at this price point. The quesadilla also looked mostly like a very large hard-shell taco but it was amazing and delicious and packed full of delicious cheese and meat.

So seriously, I don’t know how the entire city of Chicago is sleeping on this place, but they are. Okay, well I know how, it’s in the 7000 north block and most lame Chicagoans think the city limits stop at Irving Park. Let’s get down to business. Food: Yum: The pork tacos and the tongue(if that’s your thing) are insanely good. So is the steak. I mean they do it just right from the meat prep to the taco itself. Coke In a bottle, a must at a good Mexican place, check. Free chips and Salsa, check. And the chips are perfectly salted in my opinion. But it gets better, the tacos are $ 1.00-$ 1.65 depending on size. CHEAPANDDELICIOUS. I fed four adults for under $ 20 bucks. Tell me when the last time you did that was… yea, didn’t think so. Ambience: Exactly what I want from a mom and pop Mexican joint. Clean and with Mexican soap operas on the screens. Service was prompt and friendly. I will be making the trek back up there soon.

Two huge steak burritos, a diet coke, a Jarritos, and some delicious guacamole for a total of $ 18. Can’t beat that price. And the food is tasty. Not the absolute *best* burrito I’ve ever had(that would take a bit more seasoning of the steak), but nobody’s going to leave complaining(or if they do, you’ll know they’re some kind of alien in human disguise). I LOVE how they grill their burritos so the tortilla is slightly crunchy. Mmm. I wish this were in my neighborhood; I’d visit every day. Wait… Maybe I’m grateful that it isn’t in my neighborhood, because, like I said, the burrito was HUGE. And I have no discipline when it comes to the immediate devouring of huge delicious burritos. Anyway, waistline be damned — I’ll be back for dollar tacos soon!

In my final week of pregnancy I am trying to do all that I can to get this baby moving! I had a craving for Mexican food and I wanted to encourage some movement with spicy salsa, so we looked for a place fairly close by to try. There are a ton of options on Clark street but the Unilocal reviews sold us on this one. The food was good… initially I wasn’t super thrilled with the chips, but after a couple they got better(I think my first one or two were stale or maybe just not done all the way??). We ordered fresh guac that was delicious and I had the chicken quesadilla. The chicken was good but there could have been a bit more cheese. My husband really enjoyed his enchiladas and taco. He is a fairly harsh critic and kept saying«this place is really good!»… I would definitely go back. No frills, just pretty good food.

NOTE: I have only ever ordered delivery from here. SIDENOTE: Delivery is normally a bad idea for mexican food, but this place is that good. Cheap as hell. I usually get the«extra» taco, which is a bit larger, has onions and cilantro, all for $ 0.65 more than the regular taco. So far, I think I like the Chorizo taco best, but the chicken is a close second; the meat is miraculously tender for a taqueria, and flavored wonderfully with their salsas! They’re so cheap we usually get a sampler. I had the beef burrito and while it was pretty standard ingredients-wise, way above the average taqueria. They grill it longer or something and the tortilla is always slightly crunchy and the ingredients flavorful. Salsas. Awesome. Homemade, I think — spicier than most places are willing to risk. Overall, while there’s nothing fancy in the food, I think this is the best authentic Mexican staple food I’ve ever had.
